  1. Oh my gosh Kelly ~ I LOVE IT!!! It's so delicately beautiful, you must be so excited!! I am so glad I went with Roberta, I hope she gets tons of business from other brides on here because she really is fantastic and has been so patient despite my ridiculous amount of bridezilla-ish questions. Again, YAY your flowers are gorgeous!!!!

  3. Ok just saw a closeup news shot of the driver -- definitely NOT CB. I guess he's in enough trouble as it is and stayed his ass at home...poor Rihanna though, I did hear she got pretty badly hurt. It's awful, sad really...
  4. There's a police chase in LA right now involving an assault with a deadly weapon suspect in a white Bentley...strong indications that he's armed and recently assaulted his girlfriend...lots of Chris Brown speculation...we'll see....more to come....crazy!!!
  5. First off, this is the worst thread to find when you’re trying to be good on your diet. Hehehe, but I LOVE IT!!! These cakes are all so beautiful We are planning on having a small cake at the top of our cupcake tower so we’ll have something to cut. I think we will be something similar to this style ~ very simple, few flower accents with candles, which I think gives it a romantic elegance. So with a small cake at the top of the tower, the bottom layers will be all cupcakes –similar to this, but decorated with flowers that will be in theme with our own colors – terracotta, canary yellow, latte brown, red, and ivory!
  6. I personally think your choice for color palette is perfect ~ brown and ivory is such a beautiful compliment to one another and if you throw in either a gold or yellow accent, it's perfection. Using sunflowers is such a great choice, I think they would pop so beautifully in the color scheme. Yanno I've noticed that brown is a love it or hate it color (i.e. an earlier comment on this thread), and of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you love it (as do I) then go for it -- your opinion and preference is all that really matters, this is your day, your wedding, your celebration! Now I do have to agree with the other gals, I wouldn't worry much on the white chairs vs. your gorgeous ivory dress. Girl, everyone's gonna be so taken aback by the beautiful setting and what a knockout you're gonna be in your uber steal of a dress find, that your chairs could be flourescent orange with purple polka dots and your guests would think it was heavenly If you really want to draw away the attention from the white and tie in the chair color with your motiff, then maybe look into accenting the chairs with sashes in one of your colors. Last night I found a thread on here with a link to a great chair sash site that has fantastic prices, and I do recall seeing some beautiful gold, yellow, ivory or brown chair sashes in either organza or satin. Here's that site: wedding linens direct home page But again, I think your choices are impeccable! I am the epitome of a warm, earthy tones kinda girl, so I personally can't wait to see how it all turns out ~ which I know will be fabulous I'm sure!!!
  7. I think lilac with any shade of brown, and then accents of champagne or ivory would be beautiful!!
  8. Welcome ~ just you're getting hitched exactly a week before me! Hope to see in the June 2009 brides thread Can you believe it, our day is coming so fast??
  9. Ooooh ok well body lotion/creams are a lot different....for several years now I have been a fan of Palmer's products, in particular, their cocoa butter and olive butter lotions. Although both are lotions, they have a thick consistency (more so the cocoa butter) and provide my skin with just enough protection and hydrated suppleness throughout all seasons. Body butters are also great for extra moisture protection -- Alba has some body butters that I've really liked too! Ironically I just found this article today on Yahoo talking about dermatologist recommendations on skincare during the dry winter season for all parts of the body. They seem to have a variety of reasonably priced picks, I think I might try some out!!! Check it out -- A Dermatologist's Skin-Care Picks - Yahoo! Shopping
  10. Hey gals I posted a thread about a potential So Cal get-together in case you were interested Here's the link: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36777
  11. I've met so many amazing people on here via threads or PMs and think it would be fun to have all the So Cal BDW members (brides-to-be, past brides) plan a get together sometime soon or whenever is good for everyone! Please post if you're interested and throw out some ideas on where and when we can all meet up, chat, dine, have drinks and of course share plenty of wedding talk!!! So L.A., OC, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego county gals ~ where ya at?!?!? LET'S GET TOGETHER!!!!!!!
  12. Here's a thread about DJ Bob: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26291 He seems like he's gotten good reviews! My WC recommended him and said he was very good, and does an excellent job at emceeing the reception, keeping things organized and most importantly keping people entertained! Best of all his rates are a lot more reasonable than some of the other DJs in the area -- $450 for the first 4 hours, and $50 for every hour thereafter. Hope this helps
  13. It's definitely not too late since you're not getting married till October I would suggest looking at the Riviera Maya forum -- specifically under the vendor category. There are tons of threads on the different photographers along with their styles and prices, that cater to that area. Lucky for us brides getting married in the RM, there are lots of talented photographers there!!
  14. Amazing images ~ you two look so happy and in love, and are such a gorgeous couple! Congrats to the newlyweds it looks like you had the perfect day!
  15. Now that is a beautiful set of flowers ~ I just gave Roberta my deposit and she has been such a dream to work with thus far. I can't wait to see how my flowers turn out I will definitely be posting my review and pics when I get them. She is truly a GREAT vendor!!!!!
  16. The shoes are fabulous, and you looked absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see what wonderful images your DW brings
  17. These are so much fun ~ you two are such a cute couple And I LOVE that pic in your bathing suits, what a great idea!
  18. Congrats to Joanne and Martha ~ great job ladies!!! 5 weeks in, let's keep motivated ladies
  19. Welcome to the forum ~ we are almost date twins! I'm getting married in Akumal the day after you
  20. Everything looks lovely ~ your day is so close!! How exciting
  21. I'm excited for you, make sure to post pics when you can! I don't think April was too early to ask for RSVP's, understandably with DWs you need more notice than a traditional wedding. But based on other brides' experiences, you can probably expect to receive RSVP's way past the deadline date, sometimes even as close as a week before the big day!
  22. I think paying things as they come along helps ease the shock of one ginormous bill And definitely avoid using your credit cards, unless you can pay the entire bill once it comes in. It's also a good idea to keep a running total of how much you're spending on anything wedding related to keep you in check and on budget. Like many brides you will find it's very easy to rack up costs and go a little overboard especially when there are so many great deals out there on all things wedding!
