Aaah I have to post again ~ I'm just getting to the end and I can't believe how many great shots you have!!! I hope you are getting all the images on a CD/DVD, there are just too many wonderful ones to have to narrow it down to ~ WOW!!! The pics with you and hubby, and then with wedding party are fabulous! You guys look like you had the time of your lives. And the ones with your son, oh my gosh, too adorable!! -

My BFF wants to bring her on/off a-hole BF *LONG*
MarieSam replied to KatyKo's topic in Just venting or funnies
Ugh, my best friend spent about 6 years of her life dealing with a guy like that and yes it was frustrating to see her stress over someone who was clearly not worth it. Sadly, you really can't do anything but wait for them to come to their senses ~ she finally did after she realized the cheating was cyclical and it would never end. I say that you try and tell your BF that this is your day and you want only people with good vibes that you get along with there. She has to understand if anything how important this time is for you ~ this is honestly the one day we (brides and grooms) get to be selfish! -
Andrea ~ awww sorry to hear your bummed about your pro-pics Have you seen the pics taken by family and friends? Sometimes, our loved ones will surprise us in having taken some gems that have truly captured the meaningful moments. I remember for my cousin's wedding, the pics he loved the most were the ones taken by my brother!

I found planning the wedding to be difficult, and without this board, I would have been totally alone. And venting here was great because other people in the same boat would be there to support things that those not having a DW wouldnt understand. As far as the search functionality, I agree people shouldn't keep posting, but seaching threads is ridiculously hard. If you dont get the results you want you have to wait, and with common words like Wedding Coordinator, or Wedding Programs, you won't get concise results. I would rather us not get mad at Newbies, and just try to help them. If you are better at a search, post the link and tell them what you searched on. On the contrary, if you look at the start of this thread or any recent post for that matter, you willl see that this thread was to confess essentially anything and everything, thus not requiring it to be wedding-related at all. Nevertheless, I do apologize if you or anyone else took offense to my post. Like others, including the Mods, have stressed it is imperative to perform a search function prior to posting a new thread to keep the forum clean and organized ~ that's just a matter of forum etiquette. Believe me, I understand that the search function can be quite intricate, I too sometimes struggle with it. But as of late, there have been numerous threads that are repetitive in nature/topic that have been addressed almost ad nauseum. And as you kindly suggested, I have and will continue to direct those members to the area where they can find their answers. You certainly need not emphasize to me the value of this forum ~ I have continued to rave about it being a source of great inspiration and guidance throughout the planning process, almost to the point where my family and friends think I'm kinda nuts, lol So yes, this forum is a huge blessing, and I know I'd be a total basketcase without it!!! So again, sorry to the Newbs if you were offended, I know it can be tough being a rookie ~ and like I said when I posted my original rant, PMS and work may have gotten the best of me at that moment. Nevertheless, it's all good

Also, if I had to do it again, I'd probably just have the indented on the right side ticket of the pass and not on the left side. Cutting it down to just two indents woulda saved a lot of time. Another tip ~ try to gather some of your girls, friends or family members to help you out. I had a bunch of cousins, my daughter, and FI helping out and we laughed and talked which made the time pass so quickly.

What are you doing for a group welcome?
MarieSam replied to meghanmbm's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We are having a Welcome Fiesta/Dinner for our guests the night before the wedding at the villa compound we are renting. FI's parents are hosting/paying for the night's festivities and are planning to have some catered items while also preparing some of the food since our property has 5 full sized kitchens available, and we both have families that LOVE to cook. And we're playing up the atmosphere by making it be Mexican themed ~ mariachis, possibly some dancers, mexican food -- fajita and taco bar with arranchera, pollo, fish and shrimp, enchilidas, guacamole, salsa y chips, quesadillas, cochinta pibil (pig cooked in ground with the banana leaves and anchiote), salsas, tortillas, etc. Cooking most of the food and buying the alcohol will be a huge money saver! I think it's safe to say that most of your guests will be at your destination the day before the big day ~ so I would try to do something then if possible. No matter what you decide, I'm sure your guests will have a blast and appreciate any type of meet and greet you set up -

He has this look of hate and evil in his eyes and there is no sign of the man I loved or married. As soon as he sobers up he is back to himself and starts apologizing for what was said and done, which usually he doesn't remember anything or only bits and parts. Then come the promises of never drinking again and blah, blah, blah! Ugh Erica, I am so sorry.. Banging your head against the wall is nothing to take lightly, are you ok? I've seen how different people are when they're drunk, and can only imagine that it's a frightening experience to see your husband enraged at times like that. And apologies and promises are not enough especially because he hasn't followed through and just continues to freefall. Knowing now that he's gotten violent with you, makes me believe even more, that you are doing the right thing by keeping your distance from him. Your kids are truly blessed to have your strength and courage, so keep doing what you're doing and take care of yourself. No woman should ever have to deal with someone who would ever harm her or her chidren.

Wait Erica, banging your head into the wall and threatening you?? Did he get violent with you too? Did I miss this?

I think this partially a product of PMS and work-related frustration, but I confess that it irks me to no end when people do nothing but complain as if they're the freaking kind and queen of the universe. Nothing is ever perfect, so stop knit picking and just go with the flow! I also get annoyed by newbies who don't follow forum etiquette -- not doing searches and posting the same topic over and over and over again, making it both redundant and I'm sure time consuming for the mods. : Aaaahhh, yes this has to be PMS x 100 ~ sorry newbies, I know I'm being harsh and have done it myself, but damn it....

Father Passed Away...Dance Partners/Song Ideas?

Oh sweetheart, I am soooo soooo sorry you are dealing with this First off I commend you for willing to give him an ultimatum in the first place, not many people are strong enough to do that. And given the latest incident, I do not blame you at all for making the decision to have him arrested ~ that took a lot of courage and strength on your part. And for me at least, the fact that he drove with the children in the car while being intoxicated is teetering the fence of unforgiveable. I know alcohol is a tough personal demon, but to risk hurting your children must have you zipping through emotions of sadness and anger all at once. The fact that he did that should serve as a wakeup call to him that he has a huge problem that needs to be dealt with ASAP. First and foremost I think you should do as you've been doing, and think about yourself and the well-being of your kids. Speaking as a mother I know there is no greater love that what you feel for your children ~ you are so right in doing what it takes to protect them. They need a strong mother like you, so keep your head up hon. Gosh, I don't know what else to say except to stay strong and know that we are all here for you to vent or confide in.

For inexpensive dresses I always hit up the discounted department stores like Ross, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factor (yes they have tons of cute dresses there), and TJ Maxx. I've found that my best deals always come from Ross as they seem to be the cheapest of the four. Those places should definitely have spring/summer lines in the stores shortly!! Good luck I'm sure you'll be able to find something in no time

This story just grosses me out on so many levels, mainly because I have a 13-year-old daughter and the thought of something like this happening to her makes me wanna to oblivion.
