  1. I think if the reports are indeed true and Rihanna and CB are back together, that makes this case even more impactful on the society as a whole, especially for young women who look up to her. Because so many young girls look up to Rihanna, there will be plenty who look at her situation and think getting physically or emotionally abused is ok and can be forgiven. I am in no way condoning abuse, but I do believe everyone makes mistakes. However when someone repeatedly does something that hurts another, that teeters on the unforgivabe. Sadly, the abuse seems to be a chronic problem in their relationship and it's unfortunate that she continues to leave the door open for him without demanding that he seek serious help and make some huge changes. Being the mother to a 13-year-old girl, I pray that when she gets older she will find someone who cares, loves and respects her. God forbid she end up with a man who hurts her and one day looks back at the Rihanna/CB situation and thinks to herself that if Rihanna can live with a man like that then so can she. Thank God my little girl's most recent comments have been "she's stupid for taking that sucka back." lol hehehehe. Anyhow, the police report is horrific almost unimaginable -- but whatever happens I hope CB gets some serious help and the violent side of him ceases to exist.
  2. Also just noticed that bestbridalprices.com has suddenly stopped selling MS dresses I believe starting yesterday. It's a shame too because they had some of the best prices online and are backed by the Better Business Bureau so you were definitely not getting a fake Maggie. So just a heads up for you potential Maggie brides!!!
  3. Sounds like a wonderful time ~ now make sure you share pics!!! How exciting

He's not the kind of guy to walk up to strangers on the beach and sit with them even if he knows they're with us. But he's booked his trip regardless for us. That's when it really hit me, I can't just say "entertain yourselves". There are people that are going to be there that are there just for us. I have to make sure they're happy and having a good time. I think it is our responsibility to a point to play host to people that are coming down just for us. Especially if they're coming down solo and the shy type. :S Am I trying to hard to please everybody? Should I really just let them be? ARGHHH If it helps, I am having the same worries -- we are expecting about 75 to 100 guests, although most of them know each other in some way or another. Are you planning on doing a meet and greet or some type of mixer? This might help your friend get to know some of the other guests and perhaps meet some people he can potentially hang out with during his stay.
  5. Dont be discouraged by your families dismay, I have yet to hear one bride or groom say they regretted having a DW So do what makes you guys happy! Welcome to the forum!!!
  6. it's beautiful! and if you can't find it, i definitely think you could have something similar made.
  7. Ok gals so what weekend afternoon is good for everyone?? Throw out some dates!!!!
  8. This dress is beautiful ~ I finally saw it in person at a bridal shop in orange county, CA last week. It's very simple, elegant, and flowly -- has a lot of material and suprisingly some weight to it. BUT one heed of warning, if you are a busty bride (like me - 38 D) it's not the most flattering dress! I think because it comes right up under your boobie area, it tends to give that....pregnancy look. And for me at least, that's not the look I'm going for on the wedding day, lol
  9. How fun, those girls looks gorgeous by the way! You guys did an awesome job
  10. I agree with Jacilyn, lots can happen between now and your wedding to alter the numbers. BUT I totally can relate when you say you're antsy to buy things! I started buying OOT stuff a little over a year before my wedding and everyone thought I was nuts, lol. Crazy enough, it looks like I underestimated those who would be coming and now need to buy more! As for asking for discounts/bargains/deals, I say it never hurts to ask. In fact, with the way the economy is these days you would be surprised how many vendors are actually willing to cut down or discount things just to get the sale. Off the top of my head I can remember getting the following discounts just by sending a simple email (I've gotten more deals but these are the most recent ones I can remember): 1) Wedding website (weddingwindow.com), asked if they had any coupons or promotional codes -- a rep sent me a code for $10 off 2) My wedding dress, found it cheaper online so I asked several local stores if they could price match or offer me a better deal. One shop dropped it $400 to match the price exactly, the other discounted it $40 more than the website and offered me a huge discount on alterations. 3) Wedding decor website -- asked their customer service rep if they offered any discounts since I was ordering things in bulk (even though the total was only about $42) and they gladly said they'd knock of 10% 4) Oops and how can I forget!! My 2 photographers, the best deal of all -- an email to her (by referral) asking if she'd do my wedding for costs of travel/lodging only in exchange for 3 days coverage and all edited images on high resolution DVD. And she said yes!!! She also threw in a discounted local engagement session, and a free slideshow to music $10 a towel at 50 is $500 -- for me that's a big costs, but well worth it for embroidered towels which I'm sure will turn out fabulous! But given you are spending so much, even a 10% discount on that would safe you $50, heck a 5% would be good too -- so I say go for it! It never hurts to ask in my opinion

Yes, I love the one-shoulder look, BUT I think what I love the most is the back, and goodness the corset works like a charm in pulling in all the lumps, bumps, and humps, lol hehehehe Ya gotta love Maggie for that alone!!!
  12. YAY, I finally have a dress!!! After much procrastination, I finally went out there and tried on some dresses and ordered my Maggie Sottero "Fredricka" ~ mine will be in ivory
  13. YAY ~ I'm a Maggie bride, finally ordered my dress yesterday It's called "Fredricka" but in ivory
  14. wow, they just increased their prices sometime last year too. although maggie's gowns are amazing!!
  15. awesome deal, both sam's club and costco are great resources if you need to buy things in bulk!!!
  16. Well two sides of the story or not, one thing's for damn sure....Jason cries too freaking much!!! I found his first sob session endearing but the more frequent they became, constantly showing him in "complete and utter distress" sobbing, I wanted to yell out "GROW SOME BALLS and QUIT CRYING LIKE A LITTLE B#TCH!!!!" I mean really when the bachelor cries more times than the 20+ chicks he's sent packin, there's something wrong with that picture, lol. sorry, I'm harsh I know.
  17. You looked absolutely amazing ~ your eyes are gorgeous along with the rest of you!!! congrats You guys are a beautiful couple!!!!
  18. What a load of crap! And funny how the guy that seemed to be the sweetest bachelor in the show's history is now the biggest jackass of them all. How are you gonna pick one chick, take a mulligan, and then try things out with the one you sent home packin? And what about his son? How's that for confusion ~ didn't he say he and Melissa spent the holidays together? So now Ty gets to wonder where Melissa went and be extra confused. Nice way to shelter and protect your son by running women in and outta your life just like that. Wow "man whore" is all I can say. And it seems almost certain that Melissa will be the next Bachelorette ~ ABC can't leave her broken hearted like that.
  19. Those are exquisite, so classy, unique and beautiful!! You did an amazing job, and I have no doubt that your guests are gonna be super impressed
  20. YAY excellent news ~ your persistence paid off!!! Thank goodness you got it all resolved I'm elated for you girl
