I don't watch this show so I don't really know much about this couple, but from all the self-promoting they've done to always try to get into the spotlight they irk the $hit outta me. This is one couple I wouldn't mind getting lost at sea

But whatever, if not during our welcome dinner, I will definitely be wearing at some point during our two-week stay Anywho, I bought it from Body Central, which I think is a clothing branch associated with Victoria Secret and Newport News. They have super cute stuff, and this dress was only $32 plus shipping, so it's a great deal for how cute it is. Here's their website link: Body Central - Women's fashion clothing and accessories

MarieSam I live in the valley and work in BevHills so you know how much traffic I have to face! Lucky for me my time is a bit flexible so I usually go in around 11/noonish or so. Girl, I wish I was just up for pleasure, lol. I'd much rather be up for fun rather than here at work And yes, LA traffic is not nice. I honestly can see why people are forced into road rage, there are too many damn cars with idiot drivers!!! Quote: Originally Posted by islandbride317 MarieSam - We are the Vampalicious of the night! A totally different path, I know, but it is what it is, right? Penn State is a great school, I graduated from USC -- sorry about the Rose Bowl, tee hee Your making a great decision to get into nursing because no matter how bad the economy is, there will always be sick people! Journalism is really hurting right now, so I'm definitely trying to branch out into other sectors. But for now, its a solid union job that pays for all the glorious things I need to buy for my wedding

Wow lots of beautiful and inspiring ideas!!! Don't know how I missed this thread

Fellow BDW vampire in the house!!!!! I work Monday thru Friday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. as a News Reporter so the majority of my post are always done at unGodly hours, lol. And while I'd much rather be asleep at home in my nice cozy bed, my downtime during these ridiculous hours allows me to catch up on all the threads I've missed Hello ladies ~ so glad I'm not the only one!!!

Hey Jac! Don't know why I didn't see this till now? Anywho, I remember seeing your post the other day about the photographer you chose -- their work looks fabulous so I'm sure you will end up with wonderful photographs documenting your time in Akumal You're are truly offering your photographers a great deal, so I'm sure they'll want to do an even more kick ass job for you guys! I think hiring a photographer who is willing to work on this type of an arrangement is such a great thing for brides/grooms working with a strict budget but still wanting beautiful photos. The hardest part is really researching and seeking out photogs who are willing to offer such a service. In the end, it's a bonus for both parties -- gives the photographer a great chance to visit somewhere beautiful while adding to their portfolio and best of all you end up with wonderful pics! We are taking engagement pics with our photographer at the end of the month -- I'll make sure to post as soon as those are done Quote: Originally Posted by Jacilynda MarieSam did this all work out for you? We would take care of their flights, hotel, food. and if they want to stay longer than our wedding weekend they are more than welcome to. We will only be paying for the food for certain days, but we are giving them our free room that's avail for 2 weeks and the price of their flights are the same if its 3 days or 2 weeks. In return we are wanting 2 hours for our rehearsal/welcome dinner, all day wedding day, and TTD. They are a married couple so we'd have 2 photogs and it wouldn't be like they were leaving family behind (they don't have any kids). I've been reading the photog pricing thread and it made me feel HORRIBLE for even asking these photographers! This thread makes me feel so much better. Plus their work is so great and I'm sure BDW girls will be booking them in the future after my photos, HA!!!!!

I can see why you feel you might owe your guests something, but in all honesty I think you're stressing yourself out when you need not be. Your guests are also receiving many perks from an all-inclusive resort, not just on your wedding day. If you say that you guys don't have it in the budget to give some money back to your guests, then I don't think you should even consider trying to do so -- that's just unnecessary added stress on your part. Plus I'll be honest, actually trying to give them a "refund" seems more tackier to me. I agree with the other ladies in suggesting that if you really feel you have to do something, then maybe you and your FI can pay for an excursion for the guests, or if you haven't already thought about it, give them really nice OOT bags filled with things they can use during their stay. I'm sure they'll be happy with any thoughtful gesture you extend. Your guests are there to celebrate your special day with you, I really don't think it would cross their mind that they "paid" for your wedding. In all honestly, a lot more goes into the wedding than just the food and drink -- you guys will be fronting money for other things aside from that, and in the end your guests will simply be happy to share that special day with you.
