  6. Damn it ladies, I totally forgot to add my constant shoe shopping and lashes, just the drugstore kind though. Aye, I can't believe I've spent this much!!! I too have heard how costly hair extensions can be!! As for eyelashes, I'm just using the plain ol "apply day of" ones. Mainly because I intend on swimming/snorkeling everyday and would be pissed if my investment ended up floating in the water, lol. I usually buy the ones from the drugstore, but I think I'll splurge and go Mac for the wedding Quote: Originally Posted by jkcz0702 I also spent a 1000+ but dont tell dh (lol) I got my hair done, waxing, mani pedi, vibraderm so worth it and new makeup of course that does not count any shopping. Ahhhh, I forgot about my buying new makeup phase too!!! You look gorgeous in your pictures though, so I say it was worth it!!! Quote: Originally Posted by yoAzul I agree - you ARE stunning!! 7. Yeah my WC told me to remove any stickers that say Made in China, as for other products that have the imprint -- I would bury those in some luggage with clothes or other items. Maybe with your undies? lol

In fact I need to take a picture of my computer screen so I can capture my moment as MothM -- WOWZERS I'm a super dork!! Wait...I didn't add in a manicure and pedicure. Okay, I need to change my answer to 300-500 haha. You are too sweet girl, thank you One thing I've noticed on BDW is just how many gorgeous gals we've got as members, including yourself -- it's awesome!!! And damn it, I totally forgot about my eyebrow and lip threading and of course the mani/pedi. But I guess I'm still covered in the $1000+ range, lol
  10. Christie it's gorgeous!!! And for $75 you can't beat that Super excited you got such a steal, I love the material and think it will look phenomenal in a TTD session.
  11. Ok, I'll start first: 1) $100 on a teeth whitener regimine -- Got it from my dentist and it comes with my own custom teeth mold and the bleach solution. He's my neighbor so the normal $500+ costs was cut down to $100, cool deal! Haven't started it yet, but it's supposed to cause teeth sensitivity and if not done correctly can hurt your gums....ouch 2) $35 on a sugar brazillian wax -- Got my first waxing a few months ago and plan to do it again about 2 weeks before I leave. This hurt like a biotch even though sugar wax is supposed to be less painful, so don't let anyone tell you different. But they say the first time is the worst, hmmmm we'll see. 3) $250 lasered off the moles, skin tags and sun damage spots on my face and neck -- Yes it was awful and was not fun despite the use of an anesthetic cream. Kinda felt like ants biting me, or like a shocking sensation. In the Filipino culture, this is commonly done -- my aunts and mom convinced me to do it "for the wedding". It hurt like sin, and I looked like a freak afterward -- scabbing on my face and neck for about 4 days. But I guess it paid off because about a week later, random people started telling me how nice my skin was and how it glowed. 4) $68 + $30 on skin whitener and Derma Doctor antiperspirant with lightening cream -- Yep, pregnancy years back did funny things to my body, including darkening my underarms. I did some research and found good reviews on the Derma doctor aintperspirant, and then an aesthetician recommended this whitener solution. The Derma doctor stuff has worked pretty well, but I'm hoping the solution will make even more of a difference. 5) $100 in workout videos + $130 gym membership + $30 BDW BL sessions + ? personal trainer -- I'm so freaking lazy when it comes to exercise and I eat crap on and off. I have no idea why I haven't taken this wedding day diet and shape-up seriously. But I am planning on meeting with a trainer later this week to see if he can get me into better shape within the next 60 days, lol. Don't know how much it will costs me, but if he can get my ass moving he'll be worth every penny. We'll see! 6) $$$$$$ in shopping therapy – Ok so not a beauty treatment but lately I’ve been going crazy shopping for wedding week attire, trying to look as cute as possible during all the festivities. FI tells me I will be cute no matter what I wear, but for some reason I’m adamant on being a fashionista during our entire trip, lol. WOW I've spent a crapload of money -- this all better work, or I'm going to demand a refund, lol.
  12. So a couple days ago, I realized that I have been putting my body through stuff I normally wouldn't do were I not a bride-to-be. This kinda made me laugh but at the same time made me mad at myself for becoming insanely vain and trying so hard to be "wedding day pretty" plus spending so much money doing so. But I finally convinced myself that every bride wants to do everything she can to look better than usual on her big day....right? Or am I crazy *crickets chirping* On that note, what crazy regimines/procedures/treatments have you done or are planning to do to make sure you're the hottest bride ever and how much did it cost?
  13. I think personalized playing cards are a super cute idea, but from what I've seen they can be quite costly if you're personalizing the whole deck. Now, if you're simply adding a personalized sticker to the card case or card box then that can be done cheaply, even as a DIY project. I did some myself, here's the link for the thread and template: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39885
  14. Ok well, forgive me for being blunt, but off the bat someone who tells you he's "embarrassed of you" is not worth $hit in my opinion. There is no way in hell a man should ever even open his lips to tell the woman he is going to marry and has children with that he's embarrassed of her for any damn reason, unless of course she's acting like a fool. You deserve someone who is proud to hold your hand, proud to say he loves you, proud to bring you around anyone in his life. Secondly, the back and forth about the work dinner invite seems strange to me. What was the reasoning why you suddenly could not go? And why in all these years have you not been invited to go? And I totally see why you were hurt when he rescinded the dinner offer, after all these years you were excited to join him. It doesn't seem like he had a valid reason to say you suddenly couldn't go, and for him to jump to "you're not understanding, I don't want to marry someone like you" is a crock of $hit. Furthermore, the idea of "things will be different when we're married" is a poor excuse for not dealing with the issue in the moment. To say something will change once a rings and vows are exchanged is simply sliding problems/issues that need to be dealt with ASAP under the rug. I know you're hurting, but you in no way should be embarrassed to tell those close to you what happened. In my opinion, FI seems like he's being a complete ass for no good reason. From what you've said, I can't see how he's suddenly jumped to the conclusion that you're not worth marrying. *hugs* I hope I'm not being harsh, I just don't like to see any woman have some guy who seems like he's in the wrong seconding guessing herself. Most importantly, you have children who need you to be strong. I think you need to really sit down and talk to him, hash it out and see where his epiphany that you guys shouldn't be getting married is coming from. Also, find out what's behind all this work dinner stuff, because it seems there's something more brewing there that you deserve to have an explanation for. We are here for you*
  15. If it's not too instrusive and you feel comfortable doing so, can you elaborate on what the argument was about? I think it would help us to have a little background on where the anger on his part stemmed from. In the meantime, head up and keep strong. I know your head is probably spinning...we are all hear to listen and help as much as we can
  16. B2B - Billy's Bride because she always tells it like it is, and how can you not admire a woman who is raising quadruplets!?!?! Mrs - Ana because she continues to help tons of Dreams brides!

I'll give her credit though, I've spoken with probably 10 TA's before I settled on the one that I did, and more than one of them did mention this. it's the power of BDW, lol
  18. I honestly wouldn't feel good tacking on any extra charges to our guests bills for our own benefit or anyone else's. Frankly it screams tacky to me especially because your guests are already investing lots of time and money to be part of the festivities. IMHO the fact that the TA would even suggest this is uncouth and plain ol shady!

  20. Wow what a weath of information! I'm sure this will help so many brides in the planning process as you hit several locations that are often options for lots of BDW members I'm so glad to hear that you hit it off so well with Jenn -- she really is such a nice and helpful woman. Your wedding is going to be fantastic with her insight, help and guidance. I'm just about 2 months out from my own wedding, so I will make sure to post my reviews and tons of pictures!! Again, congrats on picking a location -- I just googled it and the place looks fantastic, a secluded paradise that looks like a great wedding spot!!!
  21. THANK GOD we booked our tix already, as this was the reason we chose Delta! I do think it's slowly but surely gonna be the trend with most airlines though.
  22. Wow everything is planned to perfection! I LOVE all your dresses, you have great taste And those rings are amazing, can't wait to see how it all comes together. I'm so glad everything worked out with your resort ~ I have seen pics of a couple weddings there and they are all beautiful, as I'm sure yours will be too
  23. yanno Lisa, I honestly don't think you'd have a problem doing so! There are so many brides on here looking for affordable OOT bags and those are just too cute. I especially love the little case inside!
