  1. YAY Des!!!!!!! I have been thinkin about you and can only imagine how busy you are Your days of madness sound like my last two weeks before I left for MX. I am so happy for you and expect a full report with TONS of pics when you return Don't worry about the planning thread, I haven't even finished mine yet and I've been married for almost a month, lol You are gonna have a fabulous time so soak it all in and enjoy!!!!
  2. Moe everything looks so beautiful. You have so many wonderful touches that I've never seen before ~ you did an AMAZING job!!!! Congrats hun
  3. I wore #3 for my wedding and LOVED it so perhaps I'm biased, but of all of them I would say #8 #9 are the most flattering on you ~ both really compliment your figure
  4. Totally agree with what Yari says -- the importance of your wedding is not something you can control in other people. Everyone has their reasons, and honestly it's not even worth it trying to figure out the whys and ifs ~ you will just frustrate yourself. While you may have found a cheaper price for your wedding in France vs. Hawaii ~ you have to keep in mind that the US dollar isn't equivalent to the Euro so you essentially end up spending more in all areas. I toured through Europe a couple years ago and it was astounding to me how much more I was paying for everything because the dollar wasn't worth shit, don't even get me started on the conversion in the UK because the pound was almost double the dollar's worth, lol But like I said, "friends" sometimes lose logic when it comes to DWs. Not really sure why, but everyone has their reasons. Just be happy about WHO IS going to be there because at the end of the day, your wedding day will be fabulous regardless of who's in attendance
  5. I think June is a great month!! I got married at the end of June and the weather could not have been more perfect Beautiful days and breezy yet warm nights, perfect water temps.
  6. WOW beyond stunning!!! EM of course did a masterful job, but you my dear were the perfect model to photograph -- you are GORGEOUS!!!!!!
  7. Geralyn ~ everything looks beyond awesome. It is so obvious how hard you worked on putting all the special touches into your wedding ~ I'm sure your guests were in awe!!!

I like Morelos because the transfer won't be so bad and it's still off the beaten path enough for us to do things at our own pace without the crowds unless we choose to go to the more popular attractions. I wanted Akumal, I did! But darn it, I don't think I can pass up this deal! Everything in my price range in Akumal seemed to have a really rocky shoreline, or no pool then this came along. Sav, that sounds wonderful ~ if you are getting a great deal on it, then go for it!!! We visited Puerto Morelos in 2006, and it was a great town -- definitely a small town vibe, which I LOVE. Plus you can always take a day trip to Akumal I am so excited for you!!! All my wedding urges will now be spread to you, my fellow Akumal bride Jacilyn, and Desiree. Ugh, I am so depressed it is all over ~ it's like a baby you take care of for months/years and then it grows up and moves on. So enjoy all of this hun, even all the crappy stress, money spent, arguments, worries, etc. Being a bride is such a wonderful experience -- I told Tommy I want to renew our vows every five years, just so I can do it all over again, on a smaller scale of course
  9. This dude is complete idiot douchebag and has no business being a part of anyone's wedding ~ a moment that is something so special in a person's life needs not a jackass like this to be present, let alone making money documenting it. I'm so glad you responded to his ridiculous email and I totally hope he reads every word on this thread. Every bride is beautiful on their wedding day, whether it be her aesthetic qualities that shine through or simply the pure happiness that radiates from her ~ there is something so wonderfully stunning about a woman on her special day. Anyone who has ever been around a bride will notice it in her smile, the twinkle in her eyes, or simply the way she holds her husband's hand. A good photographer is not only one who captures the special moments, but one who can draw out that special beauty in a woman whether she be a plain jane or a rockstar diva. A good photographer need not search for that beauty, he/she will simply capture it. In my opinion, I think any vendor associated with a wedding should feel privileged to be a part of one of the most important days in a person's life. For someone to have the audacity to question one's appearance or budget before he/she partakes in that privilege is so unprofessional and rather mind-boggling. Steph kudos to you girl I'm glad you brought this dude to light -- the relationship between a couple and their photographer is so important. Fortunately now, lots of brides/grooms will be put on notice as to what kind of person they're dealing with when it comes to this dumbass!
  10. are your candles encased in anything? mine were candles in a travel tin -- i transported 50 of these in our luggage and they were totally fine, i dont think you have to worry about the melting factor at all.
