  1. Thanks to all for your lovely comments ~ we are really happy with our pics and now anxious to see all the rest!!! We still have pics from our Welcome Fiesta coming and then our day-after session, and of course the rest of the hundreds from the wedding day! I would advise not providing fans for each person but rather maybe at a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio. Men WILL NOT use these for sure, lol. And then make sure everyone knows they can take em home -- this is important to stress! Quote: Originally Posted by Jess yay MarieSam - I love your pictures!! Our contract only had them for 2 hours on the welcome dinner -- they stayed 3, and 8 hours on the wedding day, they stayed 10+. And of course we could not be happier with their work!!! You've made a GREAT choice on photographers -- they truly are the BEST!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Debs Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing!! 2. Ibex International is definitely a great place to go -- they actually have tons of Maggie's to try on. I did this with my own dress because I could not find it anywhere else -- tried it on, loved it, then ordered from another store that price matched the price I found on line -- that store is House of Brides in Torrance. The owner, Maggie, is wonderful and has tons of dresses in her store also can order just about anything you see online!! She is really sweet and will price match anything and really give you the best price.
  3. Jac everything looks great!!!! I am so excited for you, and a bit jealous I must say You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE Akumal -- I swear it is such a slice of heaven on earth! Enjoy your vacay and soak in every moment on your wedding day. It will go by so quickly, so love and enjoy every minute! *Lots of love and hugs* I can't wait to see all your pics when you return
  4. Hmmmm.... yanno I actually had a lot of luck with our website because our guests were pretty much addicted to it, lol. Lots of them checked it everyday and still do now even though our wedding was a month ago I will say that I noticed your wedding is about a year out, that's why they might not be using it yet. I think when you're about 4 to 6 months in, they will really start logging on. Another thing that helped me was sending out mass email updates and reminders. Notes about making sure you've got a passport and any airfare deals that I had found. When I emailed, I'd always end it with a "make sure to check our website periodically for all itinerary, wedding and travel information and any last minute changes." Which of course was followed by a link to our site with our site password. Then under your signature list your website again. This really plugs it into their minds and sooner or later, trust me, they will use it!!!
  5. My beautiful best friend Grace, who was also my co-maid of honor along with my daughter Tommy and his Best Man going for the Godfather look, lol But I think this is why he loves me, I have many male tendencies – sports, trash talking, curse like a sailor, well you get the picture, lol … AND … two teasers from our Day-After Session (I didn’t trash my dress because of its material, perhaps on our next vacay!!!) That's all for now!!
  6. Admiring our families and friends celebrating during the cocktail hour from afar. Our outdoor beach lounge and bar in front of the CEA center My daughter sang for us and got a standing ovation, some were even standing on their chairs, lol My people danced for 5 hours straight, yes. We have a rowdy bunch My custom made candleholders matched the ceiling décor perfectly!
  7. All the little details ~ I ADORED my wedding aisle, my coordinator did a fantastic job decorating it! Shamans Charlie and Maria ~ spirituality and beauty just emanate from this pair. Being blessed by our friends and family. Flowers and holy water for our ceremony blessings! Receiving the first of many blessings! We are married!!!
  8. Tommy seeing me for the first time during our “First Look” session – this is A MUST!! Such a special moment for a couple. My reaction when we saw each other – yep that’s a tear coming down from my right eye, I’m a baby! *ALERT* Makeup tip – USE waterproof glue for your lashes. My left lash (as you can see in the pic) started falling from the humidity, so my stylist redid it with waterproof glue and I was all fixed in time for the ceremony! Sexy, but I’ll admit, they hurt like hell after a while
  9. Tommy and I have been smitten by the pics taken by friends and family (which I will eventually post in my reviews) but when I saw our wedding blogged on our photographer's website today ... I cried ... Like a baby I can't help it I’m a cornball and in love with my teasers hehehe ~ they remind me of how happy I was and how blessed we were to have had such a perfect day full of love, life, family and friends. But like a cherry on top of a delicious tres leches wedding cake, we also had THE BEST photographers in Stephanie and Isaac, who served as our eyes on the most wonderful day of our lives. To see more of their uber fab work check out their blog, it's fantastic: Stephanie Williams Photography Blog wedding and portrait photography blog And now, without further adieu ...about 40 photos accompanied with some notes on lessons learned and advice for your big day *the link to our photoblog can be seen here: http://stephaniewilliamsphotography....tommy-wedding/ Akumal Bay ~ a paradise that hasn't really been discovered by most! If you’re thinking of colored shoes ~ do it! Our rings on some coral My stylist Karis Staley from California ~ she’s the best! More coming!!!!
  10. Here's to the start of a wonderful string of days for you Des!!!! *Lotsa hugs during this special time in your life*
  11. Awesome news, and to be released in the Philippines even cooler ~ that's my homeland
  12. get em drunk girl, you'd be suprised how alcohol can get people on their feet, lol
  13. OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!!! That is absolutely the most awesome entrance ever
  14. Mel you are a true talent and any bride would be lucky to have you as their photographer
  15. You look great either way, but because wedding pics should be timeless, I would say to go brunette or brunette with highlights. Since your naturally dark, years from now you'll look at those photos and still look like you. I LOVE your hair color when it's dark ~ you are going to look fabulous on your wedding day!!!
  16. This is such an awesome resource for brides still looking for a venue, or trying to imagine what their venue will be like (if they haven't seen it already!) Paul and his company Playa Weddings are THE BEST!!!!
  17. Hmmm....Jac an SUV is SUPER expensive, I know this because we were looking at quotes before we left and realized that we could get two economy cars for less than a minivan. For some reason SUVs are just outrageous pricewise. Will they settle for a minivan? It's still pretty pricey but a lot less than an SUV and big enough to hold lots of stuff. IMHO, while I understand they're bringing lots of stuff and doing lots for you, it seems unreasonable for them to be requesting such a huge car if it's just the two of em. Have you told them how much it costs? Perhaps once they know what kind of bill you would be footing, they might be more reasonable and settle for an SUV or a full size car. Oooh and don't forget insurance is a CRAPLOAD!!! We had two economy cars reserved -- $85 each for two weeks. Then the kicker -- it woulda costs $700+ to insure them. Needless to say, Tommy darted for the door and just canceled the reservation. Luckily our friend out there let us use his drivers for the first couple days for our errands and then gave us a 14-passenger to use for free during our entire stay. On another note.....EEEEEEKKKKKKKK I can't believe your day has come upon us so fast!!!!! Are you excited yet, or just stressed, lol?
  18. So so so AMAZING!!!! You my dear are simply fabulous and gorgeous!!!
