  1. What a beautiful wedding! Thanks for sharing the photos!
  2. I think you can do it. Hopefully you are dealing with a TA that can pull this through for you. Their were times in the beginning of my planning that I wanted to change resorts.......I'm getting married at EDR (talk about bad reviews from brides-to-be!). But I am sticking with the resort, and have actually had quite a good experience with them so far. Good luck on changing resorts!
  3. Like Shannon, I too have been working with Valeria for my wedding at EDR in December. My other WC, Sandra, had to leave because of a family emergency. Valeria has been amazing! She responds very quickly and seems to be very patient with my many questions. I did have a little "bump" in the road dealing with the outside photographer issue. However, I did inquire about it shortly after we booked our date and had saved emails with their "old" policy. So it has been confirmed to me that I will only have to pay the $500 fee (although $500 is no pocket change for me!). So far, I have had a great experience. It does make me sad to see so many other brides having so much trouble with them. But I am glad that you all are speaking out..........that's the only way these policies might change. Good luck with changing resort..........how frustrating!
  4. I would be mad too! I'm just about to send out my STD's. Maybe I should include that they absolutely need to book two months prior to departure! I don't think people realize certain things about destination weddings.........mostly that you can't just decide to come 3 weeks prior!
  5. Just ran 5 miles outside!! The weather is awesome today in Denver.......75 degrees with a cool breeze......perfect!
  6. SOOOOO pretty!! I love your dress! It looks like you had an amazing wedding!
  7. I know exactly how you are feeling. I work as a traveling nurse and for the past few years my FI and I have spent a lot of time apart. As a traveling nurse I am able to live rent free as my company provides housing for me when I'm on an assignment. So that will be awesome for your FI to be able to live rent free for awhile. Think of the money he will save! You guys can do it! You will definitley have your lonely days.........but remember that it is only temporary. After it's over, you'll look back and be amazed at how fast that time went.
  8. I love your dress! It reminds me of the one I want to get! I see you are from Colorado......me too! Isn't the weather awesome today!!
  9. We are getting our engagement pics next Wednesday! Yikes.....I hope the weather will be nice here too! It's been in the low 70's here in Colorado.......hopefully it will stay that way. We didn't really have a choice with our professional photographer for engagement pics as we received a free session as part of a "thank you" gift from our jewler for buying our engagement ring with them. I thought that was very generous of them! I'll post mine too when they are done!

  11. Welcome to the forum! Have fun planning!

Thanks, playarita Yes, we have been mostly happy with them. The office we are dealing with only has two travel agents, so they are pretty busy right now........sometimes hard to get in contact with them. The prices our TA gave us were cheaper than all the online sites, and we only had to put down a deposit instead of paying for the whole package at one time. Either way, definitely go with a travel agent. It's always good to have a "middle man" when dealing with other countries.

If they are doing this for one person, they need to be consistent and do this for ALL of us. Do you have it in writing? Could you PM me with it, or maybe post it so the rest of us can see it?

Welcome! You will find a lot of very helpful information here!
  16. How is everyone transporting their wedding favors, OOT bags, and other decorations you are bringing from home. I'm hoping to have an empty suitcase to fill up and then cushion really well so that hopefully nothing breaks. Also, do most airlines let you bring your wedding dress on the plane with you?
