reluctant beach bride, I created a task list for myself with due dates and assigned who was responsible for each task. If you are anything like me I had to assign due dates to hold myself accountable for doing the less fun things. Also, I had to force myself to delegate tasks, so this really helped me. But like what was said before, confirm with Natalia your wedding date! After that she will send you an excel spreadsheet with the details of time, place, personal info, type of wedding package (if any) etc. (dont worry I left a chunk of it blank and Natalia said that was okay).

I am crazy about the Olympics! For some reason we got about 5 new channels when they started that are just olympics. One is basketball 24 hours. I was standing up screaming at the TV during that relay! The prelims were in Omaha and it is so cool to see all the same people now in China competing with the whole world. PS I was so excited for Mexico to get their first medal last night in womens sync diving! I had my 2 year old chanting "go, mexico, go"!

Fungirl97 that is one reason I chose Dreams. I went to the cabo resort and there were about 4 kids in our party and they had so much fun at the kids club, we hardly saw them because they were there the whole time! Every time we made them come do family stuff, they were wanting to go back.

Obviously I am kinda biased...but I am super excited and expect nothing but great from this resort. I have been to a Dreams resort before and the wedding was amazing! From that and the other Dreams girls on here, and the number of weddings they do, I know Dreams knows how to put on a wedding. As far as DPA, there seemed to be something I wanted missing from the other locations.. Tulum +size, secluded, scenary - too secluded?, hit or miss reviews, drive from airport, beach DPA +size, location (not in Cancun, close to ruins and shopping), beach, water everywhere, newly renovated Really I am running a risk, but as they say at work everyday- no risk, no reward! I really dont see it as a huge risk though. It is a resort in a chain and it will be open for an entire year before I head down there. Long rant, good luck though!!!

Morgan...you are AMAZING! You just got back and wrote a review and did research for us and posted it! Whew, you are making me exhausted. It looks like DPA still has a lot of work to do getting it opened by Nov, but you made me excited! Thanks A MILLION!

Okay so currently I am shopping around for a TA. I had one that I wanted to use, turns out customer service is not her thing. So I googled TAs in my area and emailed EVERYONE. I have been in contact with quite a few just asking for prices hoping to find one to give my business to. Well there is one so far that is amazingly nice and attentive, however her rates are outrageous! I told her I love her, but cant afford her and will have to go with another that I found. She said she would do more work in hopes to lower the rates she was quoted at. A week later she said "the resort is really questioning the other rate you got, can you send me a copy?" Can I do that? Is that fair to give out the other TAs rate information like that? I want her to get the lowest rate possible, I feel icky forwarding the quote I received. I was just going to suck it up and send it, but when I got online to the resorts website, the rates it gave me were $45pp/night cheaper! That is hugely significant and makes me wonder if would be even worth it to respond to this TA. Long story, sorry, but I need advice!

I agree to go for the suite you want! I had a travel agent get back to me with prices of $125pp based on two person occupancy in Nov 2009. She said they open in Oct 2008, so imo that should be more than enough time for the May 09 wedding you are planning. I mean its a chain of resorts, not someone opening their own business, right? I am waiting to get my confirmation for Nov 7, 09... wish me luck!
