I am glad to hear people have the same concerns. We have had many back out, most we expected wouldnt make it, but some we did expect would are now backing out. I am getting over the mad, sad stage and moving into the "good, the less the more intimate" Which is really the reason we were having a DW instead of one at home anyway!

How long after the wedding does everyone wait to have an AHR? I want it to be long enough for FI family to travel again, but I live in NE and dont want it to be in winter, so the 1 year anniversary wouldnt work as our date is Nov 7. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Andrea Welcome! Unfortunately Jacy hasnt been the best with communication lately. I am sure with the resort opening, it wont get too much better. About the reception areas, Jacy wouldnt give me any places or anything until the resort opened. As long as I am the only one getting married on Nov 7, I am loving the lounge area. When I reserved 11/7 a long time ago the times between 3-6pm were available. What times were you given?

Congratulations. I have been doing the same thing of trying to find the dress on this and other sites preowned! I am so happy it worked out for you!!!

This is not a dumb question at all! I have had the same question for a while. I am concerned because I always wanted to do a TTD shoot but I found a dress WAY over budget, that my parents are willing to go over budget for (my mom is in love with it) and now I am afraid to do a ttd shoot. It is encouraging that others have been able to clean their's.

Hey ladies! It has been a while since I have been on this site- stupid stock market!! Lots going on at work. Bianca- I am interested to hear what you have researched in PA for an off site reception. From the looks of the town it looks adorable! If you have enough info, you should create another thread dedicated to the vendors in PA. I will start researching that.

Reluctant- did the photographer say what the issue was at the other Dreams resort. That honestly makes me feel a little better if all Dreams will go to this policy and its not this one resort in particular. Trust me I am right there with you on not wanting to change resorts, hopefully it all works out. When does Natalia come back?!?!

I was in the same boat, where in the world do we want to get married? It ended up being making a list of top 5 as Chanta said, and narrowing it down. We ended up nit picking, flight prices, how many people have already been there from our fam, weather, color of the ocean, will my hair friz?, etc. Good luck and congrats!!!

Okay, maybe I was rash anyway but here is an email I just wrote to DPA...Hopefully there isnt too many typos and what not to take away from my cred...oh and its kinda long!!! 'I am disappointed to hear of this policy of no outside-Mexican photographers. I havent yet booked one, as I am still in the process of narrowing it down to who I would like to use. However, I do know I cannot afford to fly in a photographer and pay for them to be a guest and their services. I understand I am to blame for not clarifying the use of an outside-Mexican photographer, but honestly did not see the need in that all other Dreams resorts allow outside photographers. I am an active member of a destination wedding website and have been in contact with other women who have their weddings booked at your resort. There has been so much miscommunication between what Natalia has told us and what Jacy is now telling us. If we are over a year away from my wedding date and already are dealing with so much miscommunication, I fear what my wedding day will be like. I do, unfortunately, have to say I will be in contact with my travel agent to see if there is another resort that meets my needs and has the same day available to move my wedding to. I hope you will be able to address my concerns as it would be a large inconvienence to find a new resort and change travel plans for my guests. Thank you for your time.'

Bianca I am glad you are staying positive about this! I am bummed though because I hadnt booked a photographer and hadnt gotten any confirmation from Natalia, so I might be screwed. The only thing holding me back from making any rash decisions is my STDs are out and are soo pretty!

Bianca that is exactly what I was thinking. Granted I should have asked, but if one Dreams resort allows it I thought all would. And the union thing doesnt make sense! I was telling my FI the same thing. Here is the quote from the email Jacy sent me... "In case you have decided to bring your own photographer or videographer with you, there is no problem; feel free to do so. I just want to let you know that due the contract we have with the union of national photographers, we can only accept non-mexican photographers (must live abroad) and they must be guests in our resort."

Bianca and Reluctant...I just emailed Jacy and she said I could bring an outside photographer as long as they were a guest and does not have shop in Mexico. She said they have some agreement with the photog union of Mx and I could not use a Mexican photog. Isnt that what you both are doing? I am confused on the discrepancy. If this is true, I am kinda bummed...not like I could afford most photogs to come in and do a ttd session, but I would like to have the option!!! Also, Jacy said the resort is set to open in Dec, but the banner on the Dreams website now says Nov 08 again?!?
