  1. I say go for it! My hubby wore a fedora for our TTD pics and I thought he looked hot! He got his at a hat shop in Chicago called Hats Plus.
  2. How many guests are you having? Idle Awhile is very cute (we went for our honeymoon) but also very small. I believe 14 rooms total. The good thing is that you have access to the sports complex at CSA, if some guests choose to stay there instead. You might ask if CSA might be a little more flexible with your guest passes, since the two properties are owned by the same couple/family...
  3. We spent the night together, ate breakfast and then parted ways. Didn't see each other until I walked down the aisle!
  4. Are you having music at the ceremony? We had a steel drum band play at ours, and we ended up doing our first dance right in front of them after the ceremony had finished.
  5. I just saw this cool peacock themed wedding here: Offbeat Bride | Blue & Green & Peacock all over! Happy planning!

  7. I like #1-- I think it'll look gorgeous once it's altered to fit you perfectly! #3 is beautiful too
  8. I agree! I went on a Thursday night a few yrs ago and it was on! They are owned by the same family that owns Negril Escape so maybe try to contact them that way.
  9. He knows how much I weigh. He's a personal trainer as his side job so we're pretty open about that stuff. When I'm going hardcore with my exercise and diet, he gives encouragement, but he really likes the curves too so he's never been critical when I put on a few pounds either.
  10. ** Update** After making this DIY project I was so proud of... the resort lost it! It was with all of my ceremony and reception items, so I don't know how they managed to lose it. I didn't find out until we were getting ready to walk down the aisle... my poor flowergirl had to do her best, holding the rose petals in her arms... I was bummed.
  11. I ended up doing the same thing as yamille- it was nice to see his reaction! Here's another thread with some more answers to that Q: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36866
  12. The logistics/timing never worked out for me to give him the book the day of the wedding. I was going to have our photographer's husband deliver it, but he was with his groomsmen and family all day. (Did not want it falling into the wrong hands.....) So I gave it to him on our first morning as husband and wife, and I snapped pictures of his reaction!
  13. There are some more in this thread too: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t43270
  14. I just saw this nice tutorial on how to make your own: DIY Birdcage Wedding Veil | Once Wed
  15. Posted my reggae playlist here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...993#post832617
  16. Hi Ladies, I know there was interested in this over on the Jamaica thread, but I figured I'd post it here for everybody as well. I had a very long dinner-only reception at my Jamaica wedding, and made an extra-long reggae playlist that played throughout... I didn't bring my laptop, so this was an "on-the go" playlist. They're not all love songs, but it's a nice easy-listening mix of new-school and old-school music. I'm a reggae DJ on the side, so I'm glad to share these favorites! Here's the playlist: Beres Hammond- Falling in Love Beres Hammond- Rock Away Da'Ville- Always on my Mind Beres Hammond- I Feel Good Bob Marley- Turn Your Lights Down Low Bob Marley- Waiting in Vain Bob Marley- Could You Be Loved Morgan Heritage- Don't Haffi Dread Marcia Griffiths- Feel Like Jumping Marcia Griffiths- First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Beres Hammond- Feeling Lonely Garnett Silk- Fill Us Up with Your Mercy Marcia Griffiths- The First Cut is the Deepest Freddie McGregor- Gate Pass to your Heart Glenn Washington- Consider Me Garnett Silk- Oh Me, Oh My Lenny Kravitz- I Belong to You Beres Hammond- I Wish Warrior King- It's Been a Long Time Jack Radics- It Nuh Nuff JamDown Riddim- Version Jah Cure- Jamaica Pressure- Love and Affection Etana- Warrior Love Freddie McGregor- Love Must Conquer Jason Mraz & Colbie Callat- Lucky Marcia Griffiths- Truly Tessanne Chin- Secret Hideaway Gyptian- Beautiful Lady Bob Marley- Natural Mystic Gregory Isaacs- Night Nurse Bob Marley- No Woman No Cry Garnett Silk- Nothing Can Divide Us Bob Marley- One Love Beres Hammond- Queen and Lady Beres Hammond- Real Love Bob Marley- Satisfy My Soul Beres Hammond- She Loves Me Now Jah Cure- Sticky Bob Marley- Stir it Up Barrington Levy- Substitute Lover Beres Hammond- Tempted to Touch Bob Marley- Three Little Birds
  17. This is Renji- he's technically my parents' dog, but he's our family dog so we all "claim him." lol He's 1/2 terrier and 1/2 Italian Greyhound.
  18. Welcome Lana-- I got engaged & married in Jamaica too. You will have a blast!
  19. Aww... I like this thread! 1. My most memorable moment by far: DH said he didn't want to see me until I walked down the aisle, so we didn't do a 'first look' for pictures.... But the minister took it even further... he wouldn't let DH turn around until I got all the way down the aisle and was standing right next to him. He's not an emotional person but when he turned to face me, and saw me for the first time that day, his eyes welled up with tears and he choked up. He even grabbed his handkerchief from his pocket. I thought I'd be the one crying at the wedding, not him! It was so sweet and caught everybody off-guard-- they all started crying.. my bridesmaids, my sister, his mom, his aunt... My eyes welled up but I was so happy, I just kept on grinning through the tears. 2. We had a steel drum band for our ceremony and they were perfect. After the wedding, champagne was handed out to everybody for a toast, and the band kept on playing and picked up the pace some more... and FI and I couldn't help but to start dancing. So our first dance was right then and there. Loved it! 3. Relaxing on the beach with the girls, the morning of the wedding. Wouldn't get to do that if I didn't have a DW!
