  1. Here's what I did.... I inquired about availability on the date. Once I found out what times were available on that day, I chose a slot & she placed a hold on it for me for 2 weeks. The timing worked out that I was actually on my way down there for a site visit during those 2 weeks, so before the hold expired, I filled out their wedding agreement form (page 7 in the wedding information packet), and put down the $300 deposit to seal the deal. After I got back she sent me an e-mail that my deposit had been processed and that my wedding date & time were confirmed. WEDDING MAGAZINE - MAY 16 2008 (2).doc

  4. To echo what the rest have said: Montego Bay (where the airport is located) is about 1.5-2 hours away from both Negril and Ocho Rios, in opposite directions. For a honeymoon, I'd recommend Negril & Ocho Rios. I got engaged on a vacation to Ochi and we took our first vacation together to Negril about 4 years ago & been to Jamaica lots over the years. Negril is home to the 7-mile beach. It's a long white-sand public beach. There are tons of hotels up and down the strip. Here is a link to a map: http://www.negrilinfo.com/sitebuilde...camap42008.pdf There are also lots of boutique hotels on Negril's beautiful cliffs. Ocho Rios is home to lots of the tours that are offered, and it's also home to beautiful waterfalls. My cousin got married there a few years ago, and it was lovely. All three cities have a nightlife (Margaritaville in all 3, Jungle Nightclub in Negril, Club Amnesia in Ochi), but it just depends on your personal taste. Check the Jamaica Tourist Board site for more info. Happy planning!

I ordered mine at the end of July and I picked it up on Wednesday! They originally told me it wouldn't be in until mid-October. DB was pretty quick, so I wouldn't worry too much about it coming in time for your May wedding.

(which as you know is going to be heavy as heck) If you can come up with something else let me know. My mother bakes cakes for a living and to not use hers would be insulting. You are definitely right about how heavy the cake will be. I really really don't want to have to do this, and also have to bring a dress and all that OOT stuff too! Ugh not looking too good. Did you decide what to do about this? Now my aunt in Florida is saying she will bake the rum cake for us (she's already soaking the fruit from summer) and wants to carry it down... not sure how yet!
