  1. Hi Ladies-- I was also part of the BDW Chicago BD marathon & inspired by chickadee posting her teasers, I've decided to share my photobook! Tammy, Maura, and Trisha, you did a BEAUTIFUL job on my shots. I definitely recommend you (and the great makeup artist!) to any Chicago ladies thinking about doing a BD session. I really felt gorgeous & special and I think this book is something I'll love looking back on 20 years from now. Plus, I think my FI's eyes are gonna be like saucers when he receives this book in 8 weeks! Okay, here goes.... http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...=8IatGTlo0cMiS (Some NSFW) **Will be taking this down in a few days***
  2. Wow! Kamilla hooked it up! You guys look great!
  3. Thanks for the reminder about waterproof makeup! I cried when FI proposed, and I cry at every wedding I go to, so I know it's gonna be a wrap for me at my own. lol
  4. Awesome! I'm so happy you guys had such a good time!
  5. Welcome & good luck with your planning. This board is a great resource!

  7. Mmm.... the chocolate-covered pretzels and the reece's sticks!
  8. We're almost there, girls!! I had my dress fitting week before last and I forgot to take pics... It was really big on-top when I bought it but now it fits perfectly. My bridesmaids all now have their dresses and my mom found hers last weekend. Still left to do: veil (trying to make a birdcage), vows, programs, menu cards, welcome letter (and possible gift- depending on # of guests) FI's suit and wedding band, and buying the rest of the bridesmaid & parents gifts. Wow-- under the 2 month mark! It really crept up on me.
  9. To me, the dress shopping was the hardest part. I took a bunch of people with me on my second trip to the dress shop, and ended up buying the one that everybody oohed and ahhed over, and that made my future mother-in-law cry. It also followed the "rules" of all the wedding guides, that tell you what type of silhouette to buy based on your shape. A few months later when the dress came in, it wasn't me. I agonized over trying to make myself like it, but then I ended up going out by myself months later (didn't tell anybody I was going) and finding a dress that I really loved. (FMIL still doesn't know I'm not wearing the 1st dress!) So I say go with your heart & get what you really love. Don't feel obligated to bring everybody with you or follow the "rules" of the wedding dress guides, and you'll make the right choice.

She said the price for makeup and hair starts at 28.00 plus 2% gratuity. The main reason I chose to have someone come to me instead of using the resort's salon is actually not because I don't trust their work but I've seen a lot of brides say that they are very slow and/or there are not many stylists and I don't want to be in the salon for hours since there will be four of us and run the risk of being late for the ceremony. Its really for my our comfort and convenience. That's a really good price-- can you share her info?
  11. Of everything so far in my wedding planning, I've liked creating the invitations the best. I have a friend who is an artist and graphic designer and this summer we met to create with a design that I would use on my save-the-dates, invitations, thank-you notes, and our monograms. Office Depot printed and cut the invites for me, and I bought #10 backings and matching envelopes at Paper&Print. I added copper and silver eyelets, and brown ribbon to each. http://x4a.xanga.com/7adf1a6a5913023...m187158426.jpg And inserted my RSVP postcards with the cute tropical fruit stamps. Started getting RSVPs back this week-- very exciting!
  12. I'm watching our budget too, so I'm waiting to see how many people are coming before I decide what to give to our guests. But I was thinking I'd probably do something like a travel mug & welcome brochure, instead of a full OOT bag.

  14. Gorgeous pics! I love your birdcage veil! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding.
  15. A girl I went to college with hired this professional makeup artist for her wedding in Jamaica. I haven't checked her rates but she does makeup for models & performers: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8739177547&ref=ts MySpace.com - www.myspace.com/53221707
  16. Janet, did the DJ also handle the emcee-ing duties (intro of the bridal party, etc.) or did you have a friend do it? Also, could you share a rundown of the ceremony order? I am thinking about making simple programs. Thanks!
