  1. I used April from Wedding in Paradise. She was very nice. I didn't need to coordinate very much through her since I took care of planning the welcome cruise, dinner and the reception dinner. My flowers were beautiful, the minister was very nice, and the photographer was good. She was from Bluegrass Photography (I forgot her name), and I actually received the pictures last night and they were amazing!
  2. We had our reception dinner at Havana Blue - It was INCREDIBLE!!!! Both the food and the service were outstanding. We also ate a Mafolie one night and the view was beautiful and the food was delicious. I was truly surprised at the food at Iggies at Bolongo Bay. I can honestly say that i wasn't expecting great food for our welcome dinner on the beach, but they truly delivered. I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy everything was. The only bad thing about our family style dinner on the beach were the bugs, but they provided bug spray and once everyone sprayed down they seemed to disappear.
  3. We had our reception dinner at Havana Blue. They have 3 different menus to choose from ranging in price from $75 to $100 pp. That is only for dinner and doesn't include drinks or a cocktail hour. It was pricey, however, it was truly an amazing dinner. Winifred, our event manager, was spectacular. The food was out of this world. Everyone of our guests is still talking about it. The breakfast buffet at Windows on the Harbor was very good. We ate at Coco Joe's on the beach a few times and it was good. Drinks are definately pricey at the hotel, $8 per pina colada, so we bought our own alcohol and juice at the local supermarket (Pueblo) and saved quite a bit of money there.
  4. I think I might wait until we get back and then send a thank you for the gift and for coming to St. Thomas. I did thank them personally, so I guess it would be acceptable to wait until we get home. Hopefully I will have a great photo to send with it as well.
  5. I am getting married next Friday and have received two wedding gifts already. Would it be ok to wait until after the wedding to acknowlege the gifts with the "typical" wedding photo thank you, or should I send a thank you now? I just had my shower 2 weeks ago and just finished sending out those thank you notes. Do you also send out thank you notes for people who attend the wedding?
  6. Have a great trip! Take tons of pictures :-)

What company are you using for the catamaran? I have been in contact with a vendor that is charging about $70 per person with open bar, snacks, snorkel gear. I haven't finalized my hotel yet and am still trying to figure that out. What month are you getting married? I am looking at November. You didn't think that it would be too much to do the dinner at another hotel and transport people from the boat to the other hotel and back? That is my last step obviously with that activity...still working on the hotel portion. Is your wedding at Bolongo or is this a welcome dinner? We booked the Heavenly Days Catamaran Sunset Cruise. It's a 2 hour sunset cruise with an open bar (champagne, wine, mixed drinks and rum punch) and snacks and vegetable crudite. It was $55 pp. The are picking us up from the Marriott and then bringing us back to Bolongo Bay for our dinner on the beach. I haven't finalized the menu for the dinner yet, that's tomorrow's project. They said that transportation would be $10 pp to bring us back to the Marriott at the end of the night. Our wedding is less than a month away - April 25th!
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Corrine, Thanks for the coupon. The Old Stone Farmhouse sounds wonderful!
  9. I am having my wedding at the Marriott and they told me that they can only do a lunch on the beach not a dinner. I opted for a welcome dinner on the beach at Bolongo Bay. We are doing a sunset catamaran cruise before the dinner and they are picking us up from the Marriott, and then bringing us back to Bolongo Bay for the dinner. They also said that they would arrange transportation back to the Marriott as well (for a fee of course).
  10. Does anyone have any information on Blue Glass Photography? That's the company that my WC said that they use at the Marriot.
  11. I'm getting married on the beach at the Marriot next month. We are doing a sunset catamaran cruise with dinner on the beach at Bolongo Bay the night before the wedding and then having a cocktail hour and dinner at Havana Blue. I have to say, it is very expensive. I hope the Marriot is still as nice (if not better) as I remember it from 20 years ago. You can find more pictures of the Marriot if you go to google images and then search for the Marriot Frenchman's Reef. You get all sort of pictures that way, many more than just the website. I did that for Coco Joes, Havana Blue, etc.
  12. Thanks everyone. I've totally started stressing out now that it's only one month away. No one at home seems to understand my stress level It is a second marriage for my fiance and I. Everyone in my family is like, "what's there to stress about...you buy a dress, go away and get married on a beach". GRRRRR... You would think they know by now that with me, it's all in the details (welcome bags, newsletters, dinners, excursions, flowers, etc). From what I've gone through on the forum so far, I'm starting to feel better already
  13. Hi all, My name is Kelly and I'm getting married April 25, 2008 at the Marriot Frenchman's Reef in St. Thomas. I totally wish I ahd found this forum earlier, but as they say, better late than never! Kelly
