Hi, I am getting married at the Riu clubhotel and my 1st choice had been the RTB when we first starting looking. However due to the increase in price after the renovations had taken place, it was just too expensive for some friends & family members to attend. After reading reviews and seeing the photo's of weddings that had taken place at the Clubhotel we decided the same as majortomm, that it was not worth the extra cost. However they are both beautiful hotels and what ever choice you make, I am sure will be the right one for you. Gook luck with your planning.

congrat's on your wedding Ashley, I am getting married at the riu clubhotel in March 2010 so glad to hear that everything went well and can't wait to see your photo's and read your reveiw. Is there anything that you would of changed if you were planning it all again? Did you have the private reception? Were you up graded? There were some recent reviews on Trip Adviser about some people having thing's stolen from their rooms in Block 4, did you hear anything about it whilst you were there? Thanks

Hi ladies, Msmoodyr - congrats on your wedding & hope all your planning is going well. Nicole8 - There is a "here to help box" at the bottom of the Thomson web page, in the questions & answers section, it say's that they can only accept bookings for package holidays from people living in Spain if living outside the UK. I think you will be only be to book direct flights from the UK. Might still be better speaking to some one over the phone, I can't find an email enquiry address either. Good luck Shellk - no, I am not top heavy but not flat chested either. I am a size 14 but pear shaped, with the bottom half of me being larger than the top. I am 5.6" and presently 12st and trying to get down to 10st. So, plently of salads at present & walks. I have lost 1/2st in the last 2mths but I can't see where yet......I am not a excercise person and I was always between a size 10-12 until I met my H2b and I just seems to have piled the weight on in the least 4 years. Not booked any appointments at any bridal shops yet as I want to see what I can get down too by August, although I think that I need to start trying some different styles of dresses on soon. Will need to get A line type because I have always had a big bum no matter how slim I was. But now I seem to have put weight on around by stomach and thighs which I am finding really difficult to shift, so I can't really wear anything fitted. Until meeting my H2b, I was always one of those people that could eat anything and not put any weight on. Desser - how's things going for you?

Hi ladies, Shellk - I would just like a long simple Ivory dress with a small train, but not sure if I want strapless or not? but then again may change my mind when I actually go shopping and try a few on. desser - I am sure you will get some sort of compo, for all the mess up's you have had to put up with!!!!!!!!

Thanks desser, Sorry to hear that was really hopeing that with all you have been through that you would get the 4.00pm on the 31st March. Any howl I am sure you will still have a great day and like I mentioned before you can always email the riu wed dept to ask if they will let you know if any of the b2b's who have booked the later time slots for 1st April cancel. I know reading one of the other threads the other week that a couple of early slot brides had been contacted to see if they wanted later slots that had been cancelled on their chosen wedding days. Anyway the main thing now is that you have your date finally sorted and can start looking forward now.

Hi ladies, hope you are both well. desser- have you received any news yet for the 31st March? don't forget that alot of the B2b's booking direct with Riu don't always follow through with their confirmation of the date/time they provisonally booked or often decide to marry at another hotel, so their date/time slot becomes free again. Shelllk- you are so right about how quick the time is passing by, I really need to get a move on now with looking for a dress, kinda know how I want my hair.

hi, we picked a, 4.00pm wedding due to it being cooler & because the wedding dinner is not until 6.30pm, so after photo's should help the time flow better.

Hi, Glad I am not the only one, 4 booked so far out of mixture of friend & family who all said that they wanted to join us. I fully understand that for some people it is the cost. We had planned to get married in September 2009 but then we had family asking us to put it back due to another wedding they were attending. Anyway, I have decided that it is our day and if people can join us that's great but if not, I am not going to let it upset me.

Great news, let's hope you hear back soon desser. I got an acknowledgement the same day that they had received my email and 5 days later the confirmation from the wedding sales co-ordinator. Did you manage to collect your pack? like shellk said not much in it really considering the wait. Hope they have updated it now because as already mentioned mine only had contact details for the Riu Tropical bay & Riu Mbay. Anyway, things are moving now for you which is the main thing. Why did you choose 1st April? is it a special date for you both? Shellk - what are up too?

Thanks ladies, desser - great about your date being confirmed. I would email both your wc and the Riu wedding department team asap to try and sort out your time. If you can't pick up your wedding pack then telephone Thomsons and ask for the email details for your hotel WC. My wedding pack did not have contact details for either the ROR or the Negril Clubhotel so I had to email a sister hotel WC who then forwarded my email on to her. But I was actually sent the confirmation of the date and time by the Riu wedding department sales team. Wedding Packages by Destination. Honeymoon Holidays. Weddings by Riu & this was 5 days later. The WC from my hotel did not email back until 10 days later and I had already received the confirmation by then. If Thomson can't give you the email details for the WC at your hotel I am sure someone on here will be able to help you. Make sure you quote your Thomson booking ref. Good luck with it. Shellk, yes we are also thinking of having a dvd after seeing some really great ones in the reviews.
