We took some, but haven't gotten them back yet. We decided to do them since my FI cut his locs off & we do not have any pictures together w/ his new "clean" cut. Also, we are planning on using them for our guest book & newspaper announcement like many of the other brides said.

We chose 12/6/08 because our wedding date had to be divisable by 3 since 3 represents a lot for us....we are both 3's in our frat & sorority lines, God (the Father)-Son-Holy Ghost, completion, stability, etc. Also, our original date of 1/3/09 was too expensive for us & our guests since that's New Year's weekend.

Hello BDW TA, I have been working with destinationweddings.com on trying to book travel for my guests for our wedding, but am not getting the prices that I like. I'm wondering is it better for me to attempt to try and negotiate a group rate with the resort directly because destinationweddings.com is not providing a discount at all. The only benefit is that they will coordinate all of my guests travel without me having to be worried about it, but I don't want my guests to be ripped out just for this service. If I attempt to book online I can get round trip air and accommodations for 4 nights right for $1000, but destinationweddings.com's quoted room rate alone is $270/night. What should I do? (Sorry if this info is posted somewhere else. I tried to search but didn't pull up what I was looking for.)

Thanks for the info. I was planning on loading up the luggage bags, but figured that I wouldn't have to pay for extra luggage with my family checking 2 bags. But I would rather pay the $25 fee instead of trying to ship it over early. I'll just have to pack more efficiently.

Since this is your first exp. with extensions of course there will be some paranoia, but continue to work on the part & getting comfortable with them being in. Also, if you get the extensions cut/trimmed, they won't be as heavy as they are now. If they are, then maybe you do not need to put in as many...that's something that you should talk over with your beautician. I do not have any experience with clip in extensions, but have had hair sewn in. I think that's what I'm going to go with since I won't have to worry about my hair's response to the humidity. Also, my hair is shoulder length so I think I want to add some length to it for an updo. Having said all of that...just make sure that you are get completely comfortable with your hair bcuz you shouldn't be worried about that on your Big day.

I've been frustrated with my weight loss plan as well. I wouldnt go dress shopping until I had lost 10lbs. Well I lost 8lbs and now want to lose an additional 5 lbs for the bikini I'm wanting to get into, but seem to be at a stand still. I've changed my diet & increased workouts, but I cannot seem to lose weight. I used to be a soda addict & have heard the stories that if I cut that out I could drop a lot of weight. Well, I've cut sodas out completely and have replaced it with water, but still didn't drop the weight that I want. I'm just trying to stay committed and hope that I will be okay...especially since my wedding is soon after Thanksgiving. I might need to lose a couple of more pounds for that.

Your OOT bags are awesome!! I wish I could do the same for all of our guests, but a growing guest list won't allow it.

I bought it as soon as we decided on having a destination wedding. I found it to be helpful, but didn't provide as many details as I would have liked, but then I found BDW and now I'm feeling VERY confident that I'm covering everything.

Thanks for this thread bcuz my stylist will not be able to attend & I'm up in the air about letting someone from a resort do mine. My plan is to go to my stylist and take a pic of how I want my hair the day of my wedding. My MOH is going to go with me to see if she can help recreate the style too. But basically I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

I'm going with paper bags as well. I was informed by several guests (when I ran the idea by them) that they would prefer all things that would be consumed that weekend because they didn't want to worry about carrying a lot of stuff back. So there's no need for me to go against what the folks want

These are perfect! I just found out that I need to add centerpieces to my list of projects and these will help illuminate the tables perfectly.

I am also a Secrets Capri bride, but we chose this location w/out a site visit. We are expecting about 50+ guests & are trying to make sure everything works out. We just found out that they can't accommodate a big private rehearsal dinner (only a max of 12). So I'm not happy about that, but Alejandra says she might have some other options.

We chose Secrets Capri because of the intimate & romantic feel. We will be honeymooning at the same resort so we opted for the Adults-Only choice. I've been working with the WC of Secrets and they seem to be very accomodating as in making sure that there's a lot for our guests to do while there. Good luck & I'm sure that whichever you choose will be just perfect!
