Great review!! Although I am not a SGOR bride, I am getting married at a Sandals resort and the info you provided was great.

I went based on recomindations from my travel agent. If I had to do things different, I would have researched prices better for our guests. Most of our guests found better prices at RIU Negril and are staying there. Of course that means that they pay to come on site at Sandals for the wedding, but with the huge price difference, it was worth it for them. If I had to do it different, I would also consider not having the wedding at hotel/resort. It just seems like there are too many nikel and dime fees at all the big AI. I would look into a private beach ceremony

We will be in Negril from 9/17-9/23 then we plan to spend the rest of the trip in Mobay. Hopefully we will get a chance to make it Ochio Rios...it has been more then 10 years since I have been there and I heard that it has grown. When do you plan to fly to Jamaica?

I just booked my photography with Frank PanaroMiami Wedding Photography Albums – Frank Panaro Photography Frank does a lot of carribbean weddings and has a license to work in Jamaica. His prices I thought were reasonable and because your wedding is just 7 days after mine, he may still be in the area (if he is not already booked).

I just spoke with the miami coordinator regarding our upcoming wedding. Fi and I recently decided to have local courthouse ceremony (just the two of us and a witness) before we go to Jamaica and have "official" ceremony with friends/family at Sandals. The coordinator told me that I could not do it because the ceremony performed in Jamaica is a legal ceremony and they do not offer mock ceremonies. Her only resolution is to do the vow ceremony at 9:00 am (only time left) and also pay an extra $200 (even though we are staying in conceirge suite for 11 days!!!). I am beyond pissed off at this point and about ready to say the hell with Sandals and find another hotel. For Sandals brides 1. Did any of you do legal ceremony before going to Jamaica? 2. Did you do vow ceremony or go through the wedding ceremony? 3. How the heck do I get around all these stupid stipulations Sandals seems to create? Please HELP. I have 3 months left and would really hate change all our plans now. Especially since we have guests staying at Beaches/Sandals specifically so that they could join in the wedding without paying the extra day fees.
