Oh WOW!! I feel so bad that i have not been here in awhile, I had no idea these were even posted on here... so sorry guys!! THANK YOU ALL for the really nice compliments. I plan to do a whole review on thee AMAZING and RIDICULOUSLY INCREDIBLE... the ONE and ONLY Nathaniel Thompson very soon, and I when I do so I will post even more amazing pictures from him. I keep getting more and more teaser pictures form him and just when I think I saw the best ones, he sends me even more breathtaking ones. It's crazy!!!! haha... Anyways for now, and before I do write my full review on him, I will say that he is without a doubt, the GREATEST decision I made regarding my wedding. Anyone who is interested in having him shoot your wedding, I PROMISE you, you will be sooo happy you did! He is such an awesome guy who is soooooooooooo talented!!!! It sounds pathetic, but I pretty much cry every time I look at my pictures. I can't believe what he captured and what I have to always look back on for memories of my wedding. It's not even normal. haha!! He is GOOOOOOOD!!!! Thanks again to everyone for their sweet compliments. Ales and I feel very blessed and we are both so happy!! :-)

Julia, you look stunning!! Congrats on your wedding! Your pictures are truly beautiful. Nathaniel... great job!! I am also flying in Nathaniel and his assistant for my wedding in May at Dreams Cancun. Can't wait!! His work is incredible. :-)

MAURA!!! YOU'RE ALIVE!!!? haha... wondering what happened to you.... you must have been busy cleaning those socks! lol. glad to hear the cranberry came out. it came out of my clothes too. he is one lucky man!!! ;-) and thanks for the bday wishes girls... i had a nice day at home yesterday, ales made me a phenomenal steak dinner and we stayed in and had cake. we'll be celebrating my bday "ales and jaymie" style on friday - without the kiddos! ;-) it's all about the overnight babysitters!! haha!! and i will start to post more on here too. i just don't know how to post pictures on here! but i will try to post a picture of the dress after it is fitted. you remember how i am 2 feet tall? well the dress is for an amazon woman. so it looks ridiculous right now. give me a month or so. for now i will tell you that it is a melissa sweet and it is AWESOME!!! i can't believe how lucky i was to find a dress so soon before my wedding! who waits 3 months before their wedding to START looking for a dress?!?! AHHH!! i do need to still keep looking for the "trash the dress-dress." ugh. and seriously maura oh Lord!!! you have some ridiculous pictures of me too?!?! oh man!! hahaha..... :-)

OMG!!!!! I JUST NOW noticed these on here! (I need to look around this forum more often!!) I didn't even know you posted any girl!! hahaha..... They are AWESOME!!!! You did a GREAT JOB Tammy!!!! I can't say THANK YOU enough to you girls for all your hard work and time this whole weekend!! Your time and work from each one of you is greatly appreciated!! And I can't forget to say how nice it was to finally meet you guys.... "TWICE!!" heehee. I can't believe that we pulled it off.... the little 'top secret' mission was accomplished. hahaha..... sounds like some good news for us! i've been noticing all of these posts for the last few months regarding their "apparent" no outside photographer rules, and to be honest, i was never worried about it. i booked with dreams resort and sent in my deposit along with a signed contract well over 3 months ago. the contract never states anything about this "rule". i am flying in Nathaniel Thompson for 4 days and i would have thrown the biggest bridezilla fit anyone has ever seen if Daniella would have came back to me with this new policy of theirs after signing the contract with them. i just knew that she (they) couldn't really tell me "no". i mentioned to her in a few different emails before any contract was signed that i was having an outside photographer come in and she never said a word to me about it, and again, it states nothing of a no outside vendor policy in my contract. not to mention they never reply to any emails anyways (which i did send one regarding booking mine and my photographers room ahead of time... another reminder/indication of not using their photographer) so..... i guess i was never really too worried about it, even after reading post after post about it on here. how can she (they) say "no" to a guest/photographer who is staying at their resort for 4 nights?! (is anyone else thinking they need to hire ANOTHER coordinator or assistant-assistant coordinator there? geez! their communication is horrible. i realize that this is their busy season, and i haven't even tried to contact them about any of the little details yet, but if i do contact them with an important question i would like to get a response back within a timely manner. ugh. so frustrating!) so anyways.... "yay" to all of us brides who want an outside photographer, great news girls!

I'm getting married at Dreams Cancun in May 2009. I'm flying in Nathaniel Thompson (He's from Santa Barbara and is actually on this forum from time to time - Nathaniel Thompson Photography, Santa Barbara, Southern California, Destination Wedding Photographer, Photojounalist ). Anyways he will be with us for 4 days and the plan is to have him shoot us the day before the wedding, the wedding day and then a trash the dress session the day after. I'm really excited to have him there with us! He does great work! I'm not too sure where we will do the trash the dress session. I'm going down there for a site visit in October so I might take a look around the area for possibly a different location for that particular shoot. We'll see though. Are you planning on staying at the resort for yours or going elsewhere?

i have been reading these threads on this new policy, however, daniella never mentioned this to me, and i had even mentioned in one of my previous emails to her, well over a month ago, while i was searching for an available date for my wedding that i needed an answer from her right away as i was trying to get my photographer booked as well. so that should have told her that i was using an outside photographer, right?! i am flying my photographer in and he will be a guest at the hotel for 4 nights, so it's not like he's a local just coming in for the day. should i be concerned about this issue too? i have proof in my emails that i stated using a photographer and she never said anything to me about a new policy, so am i in the good? i don't feel that i need to email her asking about this either. my contract has been signed, and i paid well over what the wedding package costs for my actual deposit. so what's done is done, right? what do you all think? she can't deny one of my guests being my photographer, right? especially when this new policy isn't stated anywhere on any of my emails/documents sent to me, and the actual contract itself. errr.... now i'm nervous about this.

haha! this thread is hilarious! and i'm so embarrassed to admit that i dvr just about all of them! ha! my honey hates how i screw up all of his taped shows because they end up getting deleted because mine take up so much room. lol!! too funny.

hey jenn! i'm getting married on may 4th, 2009. actually, when i first started asking about open dates i wanted may 8th, but i noticed that you beat me to it. haha! however, may 4th is actually the most perfect date for us and our guests anyways and there would have been more problems for us had we gotten the 8th, so we are sooo excited we got the 4th booked instead. funny how things always work out! ;-) you should come and see us since you'll probably be down there then. i'll be the one with the group of a million crazy people. (haha) ANYWAAYYYYSSS.... (a bit of rambling there) i wanted to tell you that we paid for our deposit (actually we put $3000 down right away) and we did it through wire transfer about 2 weeks ago, and she received it immediately, no problems. she even emailed me right away (the next day!!) to confirm it. funny how they email you back so fast when you start talking about giving them your money. haha!! ;-) so i'm not sure how credit cards would work, but i just know that wire transfer went through the same day and i even got a response from her. haha! she did mention it is crazy there right now. i told her i didn't need to work out any of the details about the wedding until i come down and meet with her during my site visit this october. but in the beginning, it was really difficult to get answers from them. so now i'm just happy and finally relieved to know we have the date set and the money is in.

Hey Jackie, thanks for starting this thread. I'm getting married on Monday, May 4, 2009. (I'd give a timeline with details, but I'm still deciding on pretty much everything! haha! I have some time still and I'm going down there for a site visit this October.... but I do have a ton of ideas so far thanks to this forum!) Harty: When I was in communication with Daniella about certain days in May, just 2 weeks ago, May 15th was booked, so hopefully that means she is holding it for you! :-) If she has contacted you with the Q&A form already, then I'm pretty sure that means the day is reserved for you. Jaymie
