The dinner is at one of the restuants, I believe it's semi-private (they give you your own section or something) How many guests are you having? do you have a group contract for the rooms? We are doing the delux wedding package and then are adding on a coctail hour and reception. I think we're going to use the free dinner as a welcome dinner the night before the wedding. I think it comes down to how you feel, how much money you have and how you think your guests would feel.

Beautiful dress! And thanks for teh idea on how to transport it!!! I am sooo going to do that (my dress is huge too!) Also, the MP offers wedding dress pressing service...so if it is rinkled you can have them steam it (or whatever they do)

I work from home, but I'm not going to be much help. Our company is a Niche company (financial public relations) and I knew my boss before he started the company. Also, there are only 3 of us in the company... I used to do pampered chef. When I was doing parties on a regular basis I did very well! That might be somehting to look into

I booked their airfair last night. Not the most conveinent airport for them, but it saved me $300, so they can just deal with it. They are sharing a room. I'm not booking the resort until closer to (we have a block of rooms held until 45 days before the wedding). I'm hoping that his aunt or moms best friend (or both) will come and want to share the room...a Quad per person is less than a double. Harty, you really do make me laugh Not to make FI sound psycho...but he walks a tight rope mentally at times (gets SUPER stressed over stupid things) and I know this is stressing him. I know the possibility of them not coming was driving him crazy and he almost seems relieved that we're taking care of it and there are no questions that they'll be there (at one point, we thought NO ONE from his family would be there). I'm not venting to him about it, because he does know. And having to hear it from someone else makes it that much worse and I don't want to be the cause of anymore stress with his family...he has enough already!

I'm kind of surprised they are letting us pay too. When all the BS first started FSIL's issue was that she wanted to be able to give us a nice envelope, like we gave her at her wedding...and if they have to pay for a trip, they won't be able to...even though we've explained several times how we don't expect or want gifts! FI's dad isn't coming (viatnam vet afraid to fly and leave the country) and FSIL's husband isn't coming (different set of BS there, but whatever). FSIL and FBIL will be buying a house this summer or fall. And I do understand that you need to save money to do that, but they've also lived with FMIL and FFIL for the past year (to save money)....so I don't understand how they can't come up with $1500 for FSIL to be there. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I know what I'd do to be there for my sister and I know what she'd do to be there for me....so i can't understand when families are soooo different than mine.

Haha, yeah, I figured it'd help keeping my pic the same..you'd either a)have to be my sister (she has my password to here in case she wants to search for anything...mental note, don't vent about sister...lol) or be really creative with my name, FI's bday and my bday to figure out my username Rachel - I didn't post it in the other threads, but I LOVE your new haircut!!!!

I'll be using real flowers too. I believe they have more of a selection when you get there. Or if you find a pic of something you like, bring it down with you and they'll try to replicate it or make something similar. I wasn't crazy about the ones on the site either, but I've seen brides and I liked their bouquets...not sure if that helps or not...

Amduram...I know you're new...so you might not realize, this thread is about the Moon Palace, most of us posting here have already chosen to get married there. Your pictures of the Paradisus are great, but they might be of more use to Paradisus brides or undecided brides Try doing a serch to see if there are any threads specific to the Paradisus or post (new thread) a review of your site visit with the link to the photos. I'd hate for the poeple who could use them to miss them because they're in the wrong place. Zeugirdoxela - I've heard mixed reviews about the beach. Because of where it is on the Island, it get a lot of seaweed/ But i know they have trucks that clean it off in the AM. We are using the resorts photog and have no problems taking pics on the beach there (if you search, you'll find links to other people pictures there...like Betsys). We are doing a TTD a few days after the wedding, we'll be using a local Cancun photog and doing them off the resorts grounds at a beach that is the crystal blue that Cancun is known for. We suggested it so that they can't use the $$ as an excuse and we are saving money by getting married in Mexico...plus, we want them there. FI has always had a rocky relationship with his family (he hadn't spoken to his dad in 8months when we met). Their relationship would be OVER if they don't show. My sis and mom knew that we offered (I foolishly vented to them about the BS going on and now they have their own opinions about his family), but we figured it wouldn't come down to actually doing it....We offered, so we will pay, but I don't want anyone to know.

Long story short (I started to type the long story, but it was too long) we are paying for FI's mom and sister to come to our wedding. I'm pissed about it but keeping my mouth shut because I want them to be there...for him. I do think it's BS that we have to pay for them! It's not like we're rolling in money. I actually just picked up a second job to save for the wedding. We aren't paying for my parents or my sister nor did we offer to. Anyway, I figured I'd vent here. I can't vent to FI, because it's his family and it will just cause him to get upset with them. I can't vent to my family because I don't want them to know we're paying. I'm kind of embarassed that we have to pay for them to get them there and we aren't paying for anyone else (nor did we offer). Oh, and his mom and sister aren't broke either! God help them if they try to give us a gift...

I soooo want to use my dress, but grandma bought it (wedding present) and we are having an AHR when we return so grandma can see me in it....I know everyone says it doesn't wreck it, but with my luck...I just can't take that chance. So I am looking for a relatively cheap dress to use for the TTD pics. I can't wait for them!!!! FI is excited about doing them too! I should just use my dress, not tell anyone and pray it doesn't get ruined....and let people find out at the AHR when they see the pics LOL

Ok, so I just went to the dollar tree...always a BIG mistake LOL They have Cutter Backwoods bug spray...water resistant sports formula 8hr...$1 a can! Needless to say I bought a few I also got....Swimmies, a float, a ball (all spiderman) and sand molds (nemo) for our ring bearer and swimmies a float and a round float (carebear) for my best friends daughter (she'll be 13 months when we get married). They also had awesome Tiki shot glasses (plastic)...4 in a package. I picked a BUNCH up...since all the rooms have liquor dispensors in them, we are including them in the OOT bags. Last time I went, I picked up some random whale and alligator floats LOL I figured they'd be fun to give the adults random floats too. I'll post pics of everything a little later, I just spent 2 hours out and about so I have to get some work done LOL

OMG I am soooo soooo sorry. I wish there was something we could say to make it better. I can't imagine what you and your FI are going through right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and FI's friends family. **HUG**

We have our first 4 people booked and I am sooo excited!!! I'm thinking we are going to go to the printer sooner rather than later to order the invitations, since half my family thinks my STD's were the invitations LOL. We are sending out between 140-150 invitations. Most are to "and Family" and that brings our number to over 300. We're expecting 50-75 people If we get more...Awesome! We are very much "the more the merrier" type people, so we are the weird people who don't mind when guests are like "can I bring...." I'm soooosooo excited but am not allowed to talk to FI about anything, we had a huge fight the other night because he thinks I'm going "overboard" even though I've yet to do anything other than talk LOL So I figured I'd just keep talking to all you ladies. We were going to look at BM dresses this thursday, but plans changed and we are going next thurs.
