Deciding between LC or Dreams?....
K&Rwedding replied to J&MWedding's topic in Puerto Vallarta Wedding Vendors
Hello- I think Stephany is on to something. I looked at both while I was in PV and here is my take on it. LC- Pro's- It is very private which I loved. Very affordable. Once of the most affordable set ups I saw while I was there. It is very rustic and the set up for the ceremony/reception was in my opinion simple (which sounds like what you are looking for). The coordinators there are awesome, friendly, open and seemed like the would be good to work with. It felt like an experience. I would have a family reunion or big bday party there for sure. And I can see why many would get married there. It is very tropical and sets the mood. Con's- Boat ride..... My FI parents would not enjoy the ride at all, plus we have 2 babies coming and after the wedding I didn't want my sister-in-laws to have to take the tired babies back on a boat. I also have a few friends that have certain standards when it comes to boat rides, and I knew after drinking and eating getting back on the boat would not be fun. I talked to 2 brides that said, Yes, a couple of my guests did get sick on the boat ride home; I believe too many drinks and a rocking boat. Additionally there is an ending time to the event. This was not for me. My guests are mainly 30-40 years old, and they are coming to my wedding to celebrate which means into the wee-hours of the morning. I wanted to be able to keep open bar and DJ past 12 midnight. Dreams- (I am only having my ceremony there, reception at a villa) Pro's- No fee for using outside WC. Dreams isn't charging me to have my ceremony there. YEah!!!!!!!! They allow outside WC (I'm using Kristin DD) and she has been great to work with. She has done many weddings at the resort and I have heard nothing but great reviews from the brides. The site she uses on the beach is off to the far left out of the way from other vacationers. Yes you will have people watching, who you don't know, but again Kristin keeps it very secluded and private for a resort ceremony. I also choose Dreams, because I wanted my guests to be able to get dressed and go straight to the ceremony. This way if they have to step away because of the baby, or my FI parents they have their rooms, restrooms and such right there. Also while we do photos on the beach and around the pool, my guests can drink for free (all-inclusive)while they wait for us to finish. They can also meet before the ceremony and drink for free. I liked this option. Con's- It is a resort and people will watch. I am not having my reception there because the music has to stop at 11pm. YOu have to use their food, which is really good, but I wanted to use Plush Catering. We are moving our guests to Villa right by the Dreams to dance the night away. I feel you will have an amazing wedding either way. LC is great, if your guests don't mind the boat ride to and back. Also if your guests aren't big party'ers. Mine are. It would have been my 2nd choice. Best of luck -
How much $ for catering?
K&Rwedding replied to misha79's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Misha sorry forgot to wrap it up... My overall observation was you should expect to spend around $2800-$3500 which would include great food, rentals, taxes, fee, and tips, for 75 guests. Remember you have to add around $4-$7 pp for the rentals and additional for taxes and fees. -

Not sure if you are looking for good food, low cost, or if you don't care much about the food but want low cost. I found during my tastings in PV. You either pay around $5-$8 more for a lot better food. I tried 3 places. 1. Traditional Mexican Food (my belly didn't like it later) $25pp - this was for sit down 4 course meal, the food was okay felt like I could have bought the same thing at Chili's in the states. I know a lot of brides that have used this company and none of them said the food was what the guest remembered, some even said for $25 they expected so much more. I agree... 2. Wider menu, great apps, presentation was amazing $33pp - the menu was something that would satisfy all my guests, but really again I felt it was food I could buy at any place in the states and for $33 a person it was nothing special you paid for the presentation. This is a good option. 3. I am going with Plush Catering Catering Puerto Vallarta | Weddings and Events in Puerto Vallarta, you can contact [email protected] for pricing. We at his restaurant twice Boca Bento, then did a tasting. It was amazing. Wide menu very latin-asia-american mix. Presentation was outstanding, food was outstanding, they have a shrimp shooter you must try. Cake comes included in your quote. The price was great and he has been wonderful to work with. If you reach out to him, please tell him Kathy & Rob say Hi. I would share my quote but it includes 4 hours of open bar, so that might not be what you are looking for, but the price with Plush is good and realistic, especially with the food you get. I feel in PV everyone is very open to being flexible with the menu and pricing. YOu really should just start reaching out to them and let them know your budget and see what they build around it. -
Our PV trip

Great info.... How many mariachi members are there in the band for $400 an hour. That is a great deal. I have a 10 piece booked for $700, but would love to save $300. That would give me money to put on something else for the wedding, say additional open bar hour, hee hee.. Thanks again for the info. -
Amy-- Everything is amazing... YOu did a great job. Was wondering a few things. Would you mind posting your template on your pre-mailing brochure? Also how and where did you get the iron on made? I love it... Thanks Kathy

Princess if you get a chance to dine at Boca Bento in Mismaloya at Iguana Hotel I would love some pictures. They use to have the restaurant in Zona Romantica and I loved everything about it. Location, food, Stewart (owner) and now they relocated. This is an exciting move for them, but before I decided to do a few more events there I would love to see some pictures. I know it is a little out of the way, but if you get down there some pics would be appreciated. Eating there isn't a bad thing either. The food is amazing. Thanks

Hey ladies- I know this isn't an exotic location but I just got back from spending a week at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach Laguna Beach California Luxury Beach Resorts | Montage Laguna Beach | Orange County Luxury Spa Resort . So for anyone who is looking to take a short honeymoon, or stay in the states I highly recommend this one. The service is amazing. The food amazing. The rooms, tubs, showers, pool, hot tub, beach, cafes in town and everythign about it is truly amazing. My FI and I are planning to cut our honeymoon in the South Pacific early and come back and stay at the Montage for a couple of nights. I promise it is totally worth every penny to go there.

Show us your wedding dress!
K&Rwedding replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Okay ladies. I need your help. I posted the last questions about the dress above because I am having second thoughts on my dress. Here is a picture of the back of my dress. Though I need to drop about 8 lbs so it isn't tight in the ass. I would truly love some opinions on if you think the dress is the right cut for my rear?? I love my curves, but the more I look at gowns that don't hug your lower half the more I think I should do a different dress. So the questions is am I crazy should I just stay with my dress? Maybe I am just PMSing so I can't decide right now. again it is a little tight, but nothing 8 lbs won't cure:) -

Does anyone know who the designer is of this wedding dress? It looks like a Claire Pettibone but I couldn't find it on her site. Thanks Kathy -
Congrats Bess you are going to love the sight.

They are both beautiful, but the first one you look like a bride. The second one is great, but looks more evening gown. You will look great in either one.
