The dress is in great condition just needs cleaned and altered. It is in it's original state hasn't been worn or altered. It is a wedding gown size 12 so street Size 6-8. Okay ladies- I think I am going crazy. Here are my two dress options. They are both sample sizes so a little small, but you get the idea. We are having a 1920's vintage wedding in Puerto Vallarta and I can't decide which dress to go with. HELP ME PLEASE. Any feedback, be honest would be appreciated. I am for sure going to wear a birdcage veil, like the one I have one, but of course in my size. Help

JL- I agree with someone else. After arriving on Tuesday and being in the sun you will have a nice tan even with 30spf. I just went to my BF's wedding in St. John's and she has the same problem, but by her wedding she had a little color and it looked great. Just make sure you wear a bathing suit that doesn't show your lines. Best Kathy

okay ladies tell me if this works. if they do I will keep them coming. Very risky for us, this was after our engagement party, in our lil' NYC apt. I love this Chinese woman was selling books and art. We met in NYC and thought it would be great to do our photo shoot there, since we figure we won't live there for ever. We love graffiti and all the odd things NYC has that other cities don't. We also wanted to be a part of the city in our photos not just a posed couple in a frame. More to come......

Jenn- When I was there in May the fee was $68, I believe for all day, we were there for like 5 hours. This included all the all-inclusive package. So we spent the day there eating, drinking and enjoying the resort. We were scouting it out for our wedding. So guess what?!? We loved it so much we booked it for our guests and we are having our ceremony on the beach there. We will have a few guests not staying there during the wedding. Our coordinator Kristin DD, got us a rate of $30 for each guest to enter during the ceremony. They can come in 30 minutes before and stay for 30 minutes after the ceremony. I totally understand the fee. $68 was a great price to pay for eating, drinking and sunny all day. Best Kathy

Okay - This is my test run on posting my monogram in my siggy. I feel the text isn't as clear as it could be. I will keep working on it. PLus I just got introduced to myfont.com. OMG!!! I am hooked on the site. So my monogram may change. Since I started designing and creating wedding invitations (Thanks to BDW), I have really stretched my imagination with invites and I am so excited to not only share my first monogram test, but stay tuned for many invitation ideas I am doing for brides all over the country. I think I found my new passion:) Yeah!!!!!!!!!! I love this.

Casey- My BF just got back from FP here is some of her feedback. She said "When you book in Tahiti, Saylor and I went to InterC there, and ours was nicer... more quaint - and we did a private garden bungalow (we had our own plunge pool - private... very sexy, if you know what I mean)." I know you were wanting to do the French Poly. area. But if you decide not to a friend of mine honeymooned in Puerto Rico last year at a resort and they had a private villa with a butler 24/7. I can get the info if you want me to. After Thanksgiving do you want to get together for a drink I am in panic mode a little. I can't believe only 6 more months.... It is coming fast. Best Kathy

Where in Costa Rica are you planning to go? I have been 5 times, my other BF is a wedding planner there. I love love love CR. I have tons of suggestions for you, if you need them. We are going to Bora Bora for 10 days, but in the middle we will travel. STill deciding on where else to stay. Any suggestions? We are very active and can't wait to see all of Bora Bora. Though people do tend to use it as a relaxing vacation. Hey does anyone mind if I ask how much they paid for Bora Bora. We are looking at 9 nights St. Regis plus airfare from LAX for $11,000 for both of us. Seems high, but I don't know. Any input would be so appreciated. We just started looking last night. I would love not to pay that much any ideas of where to check into booking? Thanks Kathy

So I think I am really into the bird cage veil and was wondering if anyone else is wearing one, or where to buy one... I would even love it if you have photos of someone or yourself wearing one. I really am falling in love with this look and my wedding has a vintage theme and feel it would be a great touch. I am a little unsure if I can pull it off though. Thoughts anyone....

Hey ladies- My BF just got back from her 5 week honeymoon in the South Pacific. Here is her feedback. You can also see some pictures on saylorstacy.com under pictures. Joy she did say Thalasso is the nicer of the two Intercontinetals. See below her feedback she sent me while on her honeymoon. "When you book in Tahiti, I would not stay at the Intercontinental Moorea, try the Pearl. Saylor and I went to InterC there, and ours was nicer... more quaint - and we did a private garden bungalow (we had our own plunge pool - private... very sexy). Overwater bungalows aren't as private, but a must in Bora Bora. There are a few NICE resorts to consider in Bora Bora. Of the two InterC's here, Thalasso is way nicer, and it is much newer, plus the spa is AMAZING and there is a dive outfitters here. You get to visit both as there is a boat that goes between the two resorts. Don't stay at Le Meridian. It's next door to us, and doesn't seem as nice? If you do want to do Starwood points, there is a St. Regis - looks super nice, but was closed during our stay for a "Hollywood movie"... so we never got to see it, though we wanted to go to a sushi restaurant there. There is also the Four Seasons - brand new... that's where Saylor wants to stay for our second trip (haha)... I'm kinda serious... Honestly let me know if that irks you - it's completely possible to not even run into us.... but, it would be sooo much fun!" As you can see they loved it so much, they may join us on our honeymoon. We are so okay with that. Hope this feedback helps. We will be going there May 24- June 4 YEah

So I ensured I would get to see him again. Still loving the teeth and lips today. My question: Do you have any pets? My answer: We have fish because we don't have time for anything else...we will be getting a puppy next summer as a wedding gift to ourselves though...can't wait! No I don't think NY is dog friendly. That is the pet I would want. I feel sad to see dogs locked up in apartments all day with no where to run and play. My Question: What is the nicest thing you have done for someone most recently? Yesterday I was going up the subway stairs and there was a lady carrying a suit case up that was very heavy. I asked her if she needed help, and as we all know NY'rs don't need help with anything, She said "NO". She continued to have a hard time and people were bumping into her because it was rush hour. So I got behind her a lifted the bottom to take off some of the weight. She was surprised and looked at me shocked. She got up the stairs with ease and when we got to the top she didn't look back she just walked away. Oh well I know I made it a little better for her and that is all that counts.

Below I am posting info on flight cost Ways to cut wedding costs (all prices are estimates) and some positive feedback Colleen I saw you are back in planning mode for next Oct/Nov 09' congrats. I know you didn't want to postpone that far, but having an extra year will go by fast and you will have time to save. I do want to shed some HAPPY news on this topic. I have a friend that works for an airline company, she is a VP of finance. She has assured me the prices will go down closer to the dates everyone needs to travel. This is what is happening. Airlines are charging a lot, because if they can book seats at a higher price they are taking it. But every month they relook at availablity and are ajusting their prices based on that. Which the airlines have never done before. I know what she is telling me is true I tested it. You can too. Example: 7/21 i looked at flights for PV from NYC for 8/11 the price was $328 so I checked for 5/16/09 price $781 8/30 i looked at flights for 11/06 $690, but then checked again mid Oct price was $450 Next May went to $671 So I kept checking this to see what was happening. When booking flights 6-8 weeks plus, out the prices were really high, when booking 4-6 weeks out the prices were half. Check it yourself the best site to do so is www.sidestep.com I just did more recently. I check Oct. 18th for Nov. 12th flight it was $480 I checked last week for the same flight for Nov. 12th it was $390. So have some faith girls. As for wedding costs. I have been doing a lot of research and have found ways to cut costs for my wedding. I have saved a total of $3000 from my original proposal, by looking into things on my own. Areas I was able to cut costs are below: Mariachi band - quoted $700 - found on this site a band for $400 -$300 saved Open Bar - quoted 5 hours - decided to do one hour of Mexican beer and two signature pre-made cocktails for Cocktail hour (instead of open bar for that hour) -$500 saved Candles vs Flowers - PV already has so much natural decor, we opted for minimal flowers and increased candle light and also decided to do the whole branch in a vase trend (which I love) Not 100% on savings but will be around -$400 saved Booked rehearsal dinner with our catering companies restaurant. Doing as many events as possible with one company or location. Rehearsal dinner for 33 guests, by going with our catering companies restaurant -$400 saved Originally we were going to transport our wedding guests from the ceremony site to the reception site via Luxury bus but it only fit 47 people so it would have to make 2 trips only going 1 km. Quoted $650 Check this, we used the same cab driver everytime when we were in PV in May he gave us his card. We called him and he will have 10 cab drivers ready for our guests, which yes they will have to make 2 trips -$500 saved No Wedding cake... I know this may be hard for some to give up but guess what -$300 saved:) No wedding favors... AGain when was the last time you kept or loved a wedding favor you got? -$200 saved DJ 4 hours quoted $700, negotiate to pay in cash -$100 saved Last.... Videographer. Quoted $800 for a professional bought our own video camera $550 and a tri-pod and talked all our guest who own a video camera to bring it. We will have my brother-in-law video and I have a friend who will edit and put music to it. -$200 saved We are also booking 30 rooms at the Dreams Resort, which will mean they give us the bride/groom room for free. -$1024 saved (Well not yet, hoping 24 rooms booked so far, cross your fingers) One last idea.... OOT bags, not sure if you knew this but there is a Costco and Wal-mart in PV. Wait and buy the things you will put in your bags until you get therel. The prices are much cheaper and honestly you could end up saving half what you would have paid to fill them in the states. I really hope this helps. Sorry so long. PM me if you need any assistance.
