  1. For hiring a bus check with your wedding coordinator. Kristin from dazzling details was able to provide me with cost and different kinds of transportation.... Also check out if it is just cheaper to hire a driver and rent 2 vans. We found that to be the best way to go when I was there. It was a total of $180 for the night vs. $600 for a bus with a/c
  2. Does anyone know the name of the club next door to Zoo, the one that has the really high ceiling and open walls.
  3. Yanell- I was wondering, if you don't mind, after paying $120 for your trial. How much is it going to cost day of your wedding to get your hair and makeup done? Are they traveling out to your wedding site or will you have it done at the salon? I am really interested in using Blu, but was wondering a few details. I am also trying to find pictures of styles they have done in their salon and I am having troubles. Did you see any. I can't believe we are getting married one day apart. As much as I can wait. I am also very excited..... Kathy
  4. I am in your same boat. I want to go to Bora Bora for our honeymoon but it looks like it will cost us a pretty penny for 8 nights, plus airfare. I am hoping to use our points for airfare, but still these little things are expensive. I do travel a lot and can tell you. It truly isn't where you are it is who you are with and what you do while you are there. I have been all over the tropics and some of my favorite places are not the place I would have thought going there would turn out to be my fav. Happy Planning
  5. I can't see all of them, but the ones I can you look amazing. Congrats he will go nuts over them.
  6. oops I don't know why I thought it said you were going to PV. You are just going to talk to Stewart over the phone. Sorry well anyways tell him I said hello. And let me know if you would like any pictures from my last trip to PV> BEst Kathy
  7. Lupe (is that your first name?) You will love Casa Quetzal. My friends stayed there last year. The courtyard would make for a beautiful ceremony and reception site. It is really grand.... OMG I am so excited for you. Please tell Stewart that I send my best to him and Monika, I would appreciate it. I need to actually call him also. You will love Boca Bento's food. The shrimp shooters is amazing. Stewart is a character and fun to work with. He does a really good job, I have been told. I can't wait to hear about your trip. Please take lots of pictures. I miss PV so bad. I did notice airfare for next year is also going down, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. OMG!!! I really mean this when I say you haven't gone wrong. Boca Bento's food is amazing. I will review my menu and get back to you. I ate there twice while there and on top of that did a tasting. It truly is Asian Latin food. I wanted something that all my guests would love. Where are you getting married? Where is your receiption? I wish you the best. Kathy
  9. Thanks for the link, the site is awesome. A lot of my inspiration came from oncewed.com they have a ton of pictures, mainly of vintage and country themed weddings. I can't wait to see your planning thread. Do you have any inspiration pictures?
  10. Mel Thank you for the link. DRess #1 it is.... So now all I have to do is sell dress #2....... I will post pictures as soon as I do my first fitting in Jan. Thank you all for the feedback.... YOu ladies ROCK
  11. Hello all I was wondering if there are any other brides out there having a vintage (think 20's, 30's and even up the 60's) wedding theme. I would love the share ideas and partner on decor..... I am having a themed wedding 1920's New Orleans Jazz theme wedding in Puerto Vallarta and going all out and I would love to hear any ideas or inspiration. Think bird cage veil, pin-stripe suits and the works..... Love Kathy
  12. Hey ladies- While in PV I had the true pleasure of meeting a couple Matt and Eric and they told me about Blu Salon. Which their friend owns. This is where I plan to have my hair and makeup done for the wedding. Not only are they cutting edge and in the heart of Zona Romantica. But the Salon is HOT HOT HOT>>>>> Check this out Len Sure Knows How to Throw a Party!
  13. Lady Guadalupe is amazing. It is 5-7 minute max. cab ride. The church is stunning.

Please PM me all information so I can start to plan. Is it still Feb. 7th? I appreciate you getting this all set up. YOU ROCK
  16. Jenn- I don't know the answers, but please let me know what you find out... If you ask Kristin she would totally let you know. Best Kathy
  17. Jen- I am a huge fan of Kristin. She seriously has been nothing but amazing. I really mean that. I honestly couldn't do this without her, basically because I have done nothing. The things I have done on my part are the following: I create inspiration pages for her. Meaning I copy and pasted pictures from other weddings and things that inspire me. I wanted her to know my taste and likes vs. dislikes. I think by the end of me sending her pictures, which I did twice but they were both like 4 pages long; she understood me better than I did myself. She will send you questionaire/planning emails and give you a deadline to turn them in. This has been our main communication. I have reached out to her for advise on locations for other events, inspiration for my wedding dress and other ideas to entertain my guests. I hope that has helped some. I am getting ready to reach out to her to see what she needs me to do... In that aspect I am not sure yet, but should soon. I will keep you posted. AGain congrats....
  18. Kathie's right! I am bias but Boca Bento is great food... I too went there 3 times while I was on vacation. I haven't seen the Mismaloya location yet, but have heard nothing but great things. If you book your events with Stewart he will work with you on pricing for all events. He has a great heart and is a good business man. Espoca (sp) I have also heard good things about. The Beach House is amazing. Right on the beach and super cute. Marco is a little tough to get in touch with but if you reach out to Zac at EM Vallarta he can put you in touch with him. My Vote is Boca Bento....... The Shrimp Shooters are worth it alone. Oh and Juan the chef is a cutie...
  19. Lauren- I'm not sure the size of your wedding, but I didn't have the same response from DD. I am having my wedding at two locations for 70-80 people and with Plush Catering and my proposal for both (including 4 hours open bar) was under 19K. Were you doing anything special or having a large wedding? Jenn- I am using Kristin from DD and yes they do everything here is a list of things she is doing for me: booking DJ/Mariachi band, all decor/design, managing Plush Catering- I chose to go with them myself and she offered to manage them; though she does do her own catering also, booking our transportation, firewords, transport day of wedding (we are having two venues Dreams and Villa Mediterreano), okay to sum it up she does it all. I honestly don't have the time, so it is worth it to me. I had a hard enough time making my own wedding invites, plus some of other brides, fining the wedding attire, music selection and such. I really wanted to be hands off. Kristin is amazing for both hands off and on brides. I only received another quote from EM Vallarta, their price was more than Kristin's, but it didn't include my themed decor (which is important to me). I am having approx. 70-80 guests and with my catering we are paying less than 19K. This also includes 4 hours of open bar, all entertainment, decor, rentals for both ceremony location and villa reception. I do know that Danielle, on the site, just got a quote for 21K for 80 or so guests from DD for 2010. My final decision was made when I received a quote for my wedding from Dreams that was $16K for my wedding and it wasn't that much more to get Kristin's amazing talent and pick my own caterer. I hope this helps... Happy Planning. I do know the Dreams beach is a beautiful backdrop for any wedding. Best Kathy
  20. Jenn- I found out through my WC for 1 hour of open bar plus passed apps at the DReams resort, includes private waiters, for $20 pp. To me this sounds kind of high considering it is already all-inclusive. There is a few places in Zona Romantica that does some great things for Welcome Receptions/Rehearsal Dinners. I got prices from $28-$55, or so. Check Boca Bento ([email protected]) or check The Beach House Marco is the owner. There is also a place called Fajita Republic that is really cute and the food is amazing. Best Kathy
  21. The decision is hard, but won't go wrong with any of them. I stayed at Playa Fiesta in May and it would have been our first choice, BUT my FI wanted to have our ceremony on the beach and that wasn't an option and a few of my guests couldn't afford to stay for 5 days it was around $1800 if they didn't have roommmates. Barcelo is great and Mismaloya is beautiful. It is a little out of the way, not bad at all but if you had to choose between there and Dreams I vote Dreams. I visited Dreams in May and loved it for a resort. We aren't resort people at all. We are staying in a villa until our guests arrive then moving into the Dreams. I am having my ceremony at The Dreams and working with Kristin from Dazzling Details, she is great, and Dreams lets her run her own show there. Which has made it very easy for us. I have some photos of The Dreams Resort Beach area, if you would like them. Our guests are paying $108 a night per person at Dreams, which I thought was a great price. Let me know if you need contact info for a Travel Agent who works all of Mexico and has a great repor with The Dreams. Happy Planning....
  22. I love your pictures, they truly show how special everything was. Congrats you looked amazing.
  23. Thank you, all... You guys rock. So the deed is done. I put a deposit on #1 yesterday. It is by Alvina Valenta..... I am so happy with it. So with that said the #2 dress if for sale if anyone knows of someone interested in it. It is a Tara Keely Tara Keely Wedding Dresses - Wedding Dresses from Fall 2007 | Brides.com I am looking to sale it for $850 (original price is $2400) or best offer. I a paid right at $1000 at a sample sale. It is in great condition and it hasn't been altered. It would fit a street size 6 or 8, up to a 36C cup. The length is still very long. Okay like I said it hasn't been altered at all and is in great condition. It needs clean and altered. If anyone knows of someone who is interested, please send them my way. And wish me luck, I can't afford to have two dresses.... Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my dream dress.....
  24. I forgot shipping will be determined by where it is going and what service you would like me to use. Again the dress has never been worn to a wedding. It was a sample, in great condition, the only thing you need to do is clean the gown and possible alterations. Cheers
