PV Wedding.....help!!
K&Rwedding replied to danililly's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Oh I just remembered check out Casa Valerie they can accommodate 125 guests. At some point you may have to cut back your invite list, due to it being a destination wedding. Casa Valerie is also affordable place to stay and only charges one night fee for the event fee. Most WC will work with this place. www.casavalerie.com -
PV Wedding.....help!!
K&Rwedding replied to danililly's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Here is some info hope it helps Puerto Vallarta Wedding Coordinator - Wedding in Puerto Vallarta - The Dazzling Details is a great WC company that will give you a sample invoice for a wedding of your size. That way you can start to budget your wedding. Michelle and Kristin are both great who work there. I am not sure if you are planning on 100plus guests or sending out 100+ invites. Just a rule of thumb most destination weddings get only 50-60% attendance from their invites. I have seen invoices from 3 WC companies for 80 guests and they ran between 14-17K. That is by doing it at a private villa. I believe if you do your reception at a restaurant or hotel you will pay less for the food. Like almost half, that is a way you could save. All 3 companies I spoke to also did a flat fee which changed with every 20 guests. Prices ranged from $800-$1600 depending on their speciality. Meaning if you want a standard wedding set up vs something that is designed to your personality and dream site. I hope this helps. You can use the search option at the top of the site to look for other information you may have questions on. Best of Luck. Kathy -

Great site. Thanks -
JaimeLynn gave me an idea. She and I are both going to be in PV next week doing some wedding planning. We are hoping to meet up and it sparked an idea. If any other bride-to-bes are going to be in PV May 22-May 28th for the Holiday weekend. We should all try to get together for a drink. I will collect all info on brides who will be there and coordinate something.

How long did you date before enagaged?
K&Rwedding replied to Tamster808's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
FI started having the ring made after we were dating for 11 months. He got down on one knee 13 months after our first date and we will be married 2 1/2 years after our first date. I never wanted to be married until I met him and our relationship is so easy we knew within 6 months we would marry each other. We were in no hurry and the proposal was a surprise. -

PV Wedding.....help!!
K&Rwedding replied to danililly's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Check out Playa Fiesta, they can accommodate 110 and their prices are great. Actually very affordable compared to many I have looked into. We are planning on having over 80 guests and will be doing the private villa thing, but if we weren't I would totally do Playa Fiesta. Best of Luck -
J- I am so excited we will cross paths in PV. We arrive May 22nd 10:30am and are there until the 28th (I am so excited to see all the villas and find the one that is perfect for our ceremony/reception), if possible lets meet up before you leave for the airport. I don't blame you on the stairs thing either. If we don't see each other. Have the time of your life. I have a great list of local restaurants a friend sent me, who owns a home there if you would like it. It also have some bars that she recommends. Cheers I want to see pictures when you get back and hear all about it.

Trash the Dress - 1000 Frames - Montego Bay
K&Rwedding replied to nphaskins's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
AMAZING!!! STUNNING!! FABULOUS!!! Ladies you will never wear your dress again, don't preserve it, don't think about making it into a cocktail dress and your daughter or niece can get their own dress. If these pictures don't convience you to TRASH THE DRESS. I don't know what will. Truly amazing photos. The dress you will only wear once, the trashing of the dress you will only do once, having photos that are risky, fun, sensual, sexy and unique you will have these forever. I have goose bumps and can't wait to trash my dress. Who cares if it cost thousands, trash that sucker. -
You are so right you can't win. If they don't want to do the charitable donations I would just tell them you aren't registered because you aren't in need of anything. If they don't get the hint to either donate or send a monitary gift than god help us all. We will never master the make everyone happy thing. I wish you the best. It will all work itself out and you will have them day you always dreamed of.

PV/LC Trip from April
K&Rwedding replied to ChristinaH's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
This was great info. Congrats on the trip. I am heading to PV next week to visit villas and a few hotels so we can decide where to have our wedding. We are thinking beach wedding and reception at a private villa. Has anyone else done that or looked at any villas? -
I know I am a little late commenting on this but I do have a strong feeling about this topic. I believe everyone knows, without saying so, that if you don't register you are looking for monitary gifts it kind of goes iwthout saying. But it is tacky to put any registery info on any invites you send out, including Shower Invites. By doing so you are putting your guests in a situation to have to purchase a present. That should be up to them, not suggested in formal invitations. Word of mouth or even better is the Wedding Website, which is what most people are doing now. It is the best channel to use to send out registery info. Also if people want to get you something, they usually ask you where you are registered. Even if you are doing a charitable dontaiton, it still puts guests in a sticky situation if you post that information on your invites because it is still asking for something. Having a guest witness your special day, is the true gift anything else is just bonus. If all else fails you could only invite Italian or Jewish guests they don't do gifting only monitary gifts. Just kidding, thought I would make a funny since this is such a touchy topic anymore:) I am Italian.... For us DW brides a nice way to post it on your site is "No Boxed Gifts Please" Cheers

Hey all here are two pages of boarding pass templates. I am so thankful you allo shared yours and now it is my turn. Please let me know if you have any questions and I am totally open to doing someones for them. I have a little time on my hands these days:) Cheers I also have a great spread sheet for contacts, wedding list and budget that I created if anyone is interested. It is a little intense but helpful test2.7.doc

Hey ladies thank you so much for the support. Attached is my template it is 2 pages. The first page was my test page the second page is the final project. Remember it may look funny with letters and different fonts when you open it on your computer, if you don't have the fonts uploaded. I found them on dafont.com for free. Here is also a couple of pictures of the finished product. I am still rounding the corners, doing the fine cutting and attaching the grommets. It is a lot of work, but will be well worth it in the end. I also personalized all invites which I feel my guests are going to love. Sorry pics are a little fuzzy. I am totally open to helping anyone or doing their boarding pass invites. I have a ton of different ideas. Let me know. I am not working for about a month and have some time on my hands:) test2.7.doc

Mel, You did a fantastic job. I also did the boarding pass STD's each person is getting 3 boarding passes and I attached mine with a grommet it is a lot of work but in the end doesn't it feel good to have something so personalized. I loved yours. Congrats. My fingers are about to fall off from cutting the notches in the passes and rounding the corners. Cheers
