Depending on how large your wedding party is check with Stewart and Gary. Also contact Jennifer at [email protected] she can set you up to look at villas and she will know who does event only. There isn't many if any during peak season, most who will do event only is for May-Sept. They may, but Feb is peak season so I believe most places are a 3-4 day min. for stays. Best of luck

I know how hard it is to think about having a wedding in a place you have never been. After traveling to PV and looking at places I found you really couldn't go wrong with any location. Hey ladies attached is my villa review from my scouting trip. Sorry it took so long. We decided to have our ceremony at the Dreams Resort then transport our guests to a private villa "Villa Mediterriano" for the reception and dancing. We wanted different venues for the celebration so this worked out perfect for us. I also didn't want to set a time that the party had to end, so moving to a private villa was a great option and I believe it will blow our guests away. Let me know if you have any questions. I am also getting married at Dreams PV in May 09. This is great info. I am using an outside wedding coordinator Kristin with Dazzling Details. But it does make me feel good to see the Dreams pricing and know I am not spending more with my outside coordinator. I knew DD had good prices, but this confirmed it for me. Thank you so much.

I am so in your same situation. We are trying to use our airline miles. We are thinking of leaving PV, flying to Zihuatanejo for 4 days, then fly to Cancun where we would take a bus to Tulum for a few days, then from there take a bus to Playa De Carmen and take a boat to Cozmel to dive for a couple of days then head back to NYC. Though it sounds good I also feel it may be too much travelign but I would love to see then entire coast line of Mexico. So we will see.....

We sent our STD's with a first RSVP date of July 1st for my May 22nd wedding. I know it was super early but we needed to have a rough number to plan our budget around. We had 76 RSVP's out of 116 invites by July 1st and they are still coming in. We booked a row of hotel rooms on July 20th and they have all been booked by our guests. Last room was booked today. We only secured 20 rooms, since we had to put down $2000 to hold them. Now our guests can book at our group rate on their own. Most of my guests are booking their rooms this month, the TA got great rates and my guests only have to put down 1 night stay now, in November the other two nights and in April the last night payment. Which is great that it is broken up for them to not feel the hit all at once. Some of my guests have found great flight rates so they started booking this week, but out of NYC and Orlando where most guest are flying from it is still really high. But I have been checkign and flight prices are going down. Yeah...... Hope this helps.. If you are getting married the same weekend as me I feel like any time before October 1st you are okay if they haven't booked. After Oct. 1st I would get on them. OH I also sent out 2 emails to remind my friends to book rooms now while they were available.

I want to send a correction to the info I posted about this villa. I do not know if they do events only. Oops Sorry check with the manager of the villa though. I can send you his info. But I do believe you do have to stay there again not 100% sure though.

Hey ladies- I too want to have my honeymoon in Bora Bora, Fiji, Cook Island or New Caldonia... I would love any information you guys can provide. You should check out Tulum, Mexico. It is south of Cancun but not very touristy and you could have some great alone time. I am in your same situation.. We are getting married in PV in May and are trying to decide if we should hit a few Mexico locations or go to the South Pacific and do Bora Bora, Cook Island and Fiji. I too would love some feedback from anyone who has been to any of those places. bESt Kathy

Caroline you are probably printing on an ink jet printer when you can only print on vellum on a laser jet. Let me know if that is the issue. If not I can ask my friend who works at a paper store. Best Kathy

You look amazing in both of them but here is my input. 1st dress is very bridal. You look super hot in it, it looks like you are wearing the dress not the dress wearing you. If that makes sense. 2nd dress again you look amazing, and it looks like a destination wedding dress very sexy and sleek. But are you in heels? Because of the drop waist you look very long and sleek through your torso but it makes your legs look shorter. Again you won't go wrong with either one. Happy selecting.

Great Review and lots of helpful information. I love how you broke everything down. Made for easy reading. I do have to make a comment though, and yes I am using Dazzling Details and I am not rich nor am I a celebrity. But I have to defend DD, I don't feel at all that they are snobs. Kristin is very direct and doesn't bullshit, she respects your time and does a great job setting a clear expecation of what her role is in your wedding design and what role you will play in the design. She does an amazing job partnering iwth you and getting your input on design ideas and suggestions. She also won't lead you into spending money either you don't have or don't want to spend. So far with my planning she has been very forward about pricing and what I should expect. She has also been sensitive to where I would like to spend my budget on things important to me and gives me advise on where I can save money without sacrificing the wedding design. My fiance and I are paying for our own wedding and again Kristin has been very respectful of our budget. I do see where Kristin isn't for everyone. She is a designer who is very talented and takes the time to get to know you so she can WOW you by making your wedding day look like something out of a fairy tale. I know other brides who have used her and didn't have a single regret. I do feel if you want to be hands on, pick everything and take the time to plan your destination wedding from, decor, chairs, flowers, favors, etc there may be someone who would fit you better. I am very happy that you loved your wedding planners. But again I just wanted to defend Dazzling Details, because I myself appreciate all the hard work Kristin & Michelle have dedicated to my wedding. I hope whomever anyone chooses loves their planners and has a positive experience like I have had with DD. Best Kathy

WAy to go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of everyone who is really getting on board with this. I love the weekly updates. I need to kick my butt into gear. I lost 6lbs and then gained 2 lbs, stopped eating breakfast for a few days. I need to go get groceries then I will be back on track. Best of luck to everyone this week. Here are my BM dresses. I was so nervous about them being to short (they aren't tea length), but I wanted to make sure my BM's could for sure wear them again and again. They are from Black Halo and were $305, but I got them on sale for $190 yeah!!! They have all tried them on and love them. I am so happy right now. They are HOT PINK and my girls are going to look HOT HOT HOT in them...

Are you kidding me these are amazing. YOur guests are in for a real treat. I can only imagine this is staging the next BIG surprise on how amazing you wedding/reception will be. Congrats. I vote you have the best invites ever. Wow Kathy
