I love your story. My fiance and I are also paying for our own wedding. I bought a sample sale dress which is a little tight and am trying to get into it before May. Here is my feedback. The dress you posted is amazing. If you love it, buy it and wear it and you will glow. After 9 1/2 years of having to put off the big day, NOW if ever is a time to celebrate not a time to thinking about how you can cut calories, become a little bitchy from not eating and enjoying your wedding planning. NOW is a time to celebrate the big day is coming. YOu should be focusing on you and your fiance. He loves you the way you are and when you walk down the isle in the dress you posted he will fall in love with you all over again. Do what makes you happy but remember he loves you and as long as you love yourself you have the best part of happiness figured out. Again amazing dress....

So sorry Kathy Thomas.... Teresa the TA has been great to work with. My guest have only had to put down a one night deposit on their room, then the other half in Nov and the final payment in April. This is working very well for them and makes me happy they don't feel one big financial hit. Best Kathy

You are so funny. I have a few I have wanted to use too, but haven't found the right moment, like this one is that really pooh, nice..... I have been so up and down with this contest but I believe and have to check I have lost around 11 lbs. My goal was 15, but I don't think that will happen. This is actually the first week I haven't weighed myself every day. I have been sick for 4 days and haven't been to the gym. Though I think I made myself sick, because I was really trying to kick it into gear and was hitting the gym for 2 plus hours a day and then only eating fruit, veggies and brown rice. Probably not smart. I wasn't going to do BL4, but I think now I may... This is fun and motivating. I feel everyone has worked so hard, that we should all win:)

Thank Britt... We actually don't leave until the 25th. Maybe the 24th we can grab a cocktail by the pool. I will just be relaxing after doing our TTD shoot that morning.... I am not working with Dreams WC at all actually. Should I be hmmm.... I am letting Kristin handle everything. We are only having our ceremony at Dreams then moving our guests to a villa for the reception and dancing. I am working with [email protected] for catering our reception and working with him to have our rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at his restaurant. He is great to work with and the price is right if you do both catering and rehearsal dinner with him. Oh and his food is amazing. I would love to chat more about deals. I havent' met another bride who is getting married at dreams and having DD do their wedding. I would love to share ideas with yoiu. Best Kathy

Thanks for the clarification. I know when I called the Dreams Resort, they told me if I wanted an outside coordinator to work with DD, so I figured they either really liked them or this was the only company they would work with. But great information for other brides who are chosing to go with a different coordinator. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This means more amazing weddings at The Dreams Resort. Oh and by the way I called the resort last week and they said they got a new WC themselves and this may be why brides are getting a delayed response. Mishka did you work with DD, I noticed a number of your pictures are the same ones on their site?

I am getting married at The Dreams Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta and for: 4 nights plus airfare all-inclusive my guests are paying approx. $900 which I thought wasn't bad at all. The resort is $108 per person all-inclusive and airfare is around $300-$500 from all over the states.

I checked with my fiance and we are getting a special gov't rate, since he works for the gov't. But it is so cheap because Oct is hurricane season, so I believe that is why. I do know that the other guests staying there for this wedding are paying around $280. There is also a place called Ghallagers, or something like that were other guests are staying for cheaper. The cost of food is really high there. A gallon of milk is $8.... OMG

mummergirl Thank you.... I haven't lost a lot but I have been training with a trainer and so what was fat before shows a little muscule now. So that I am proud of. So I guess I am going to balls out and show that improvement. I am short and not really heavy but kind of thick for my height. Or that is the nice way I like to put it, hee hee. Thanks for the encouragement on showign the pics. I really appreciate it. What motivates me is the pics in my Shape mag of peoples success stories and I want to do the same for others. BTW- I love the mummers day parade. I use to live in Philly and love love loved it.....................

A lot of brides have recommended a band called "enlace" i know they have a website if you google it. also search on bdw for enlace and you will find more info. We are doing a DJ because my friends love to dance so we want to cover top 40's plus have a 1980's and 1990's go around to rock it out. Let me know how the band search goes. Best

That's awesome. We are having our rehearsal dinner at Boca Bento also. Remember to try the tequilla shrimp shooters and the volcano chocolate something desert it will blow your mind. He also does amazing washabi mash potatos.... You are going to love Boca Bento and the zona romantica where it is, is like old world mexico you will love love love it. Can't wait til you go there. Thank Kathie- I am so excited to post before and after photos. I hope they will inspire other brides to do BL. This contest has been so motivating for me as I am sure it has been others. Is anyone else going to post before/after Or am I cheezy?!? I want to wish everyone the best of luck, reaching their goal no matter what that may be. Remember also your man loves you the way you are and that is the best thing about love...... I won't be doing BL4 but you may see me back for BL5 or 6 that will be just in time for the first fitting. I now am going to look forward to wine, cheese and a beer here and there. I have missed that so much, since I have been working so hard at this contest. You all rock..... Keep it up

Go with the tye dye one. YOu look really great in it. Great neckline and the shape is perfect. The hot pink one would be great for something during the day, it looks very much like a bridesmaid dress, and girl you are the BRIDE..... Look hot in the tye dye

We will have our photographer for 4 days. Yahooo..... I am so excited he won't miss a thing. Photography is very important to me, so this is somewhere we made an small exception with our budget. Check out Houston & Miami Wedding Photographers - this was our engagement shoot. Joe came out to NYC to do this so we could also get to know him before the wedding. He offers 3-4 days of full coverage for a little more than most photographers I looked into that only offered 10 hours.

Hey ladies my best friend is getting married in St. Johns on Oct 17th. I will post some pictures and get some info from her when I get back. I hope it will be helpful. Most guest are staying at the Westin we got our rooms for $136 a night when we booked in May. Yahoo!!! I will find out her coordinator and caterer info. Hey Kathie YOu should also check out Casa Carol Ann. I am trying to upload some villa photos from my trip but having problems with it. Will send it to you as soon as I can. I have to admit when I was in PV I heard from 3 different people that Valerie is very difficult. Meaning she says you can do one thing, then changes her mind, She is very strick on how her home is used. These were all rumors so it is best to find out on your own. But I did talk to two different vendors, who said they won't work with her because of how she is. Best of luck Let me know what you think of Villa Mediteriano.... If you are having that small of a wedding you should go with a private villa check out Quinta del Mar, Casa Kalista, Villa Verde or Casa Cresencia Puerto Vallarta Villa Rentals, Puerto Vallarta Vacation Villas, Mexico Honeymoons, Luxury Mexico Villa Rental in Puerto Vallarta Jennifer Sullivan who owns the company is wonderful to work with. If you don't like those villas I could send you contact info on the one where I am getting married. You could really keep it simple and plan it yourself with a little help from the property managers. Or you could go all out and contact Kristin at The Dazzling Details Puerto Vallarta Wedding Coordinator - Wedding in Puerto Vallarta - The Dazzling Details; check out her site she does amazing work here is her blog The Dazzling Details: Beth and Jason - Casa Las Palapas. For 50 people you could have a blow our mind wedding for under $15K easily. Or go with a resort and do it for under $10K, it just won't be designed to your personality a bit more program selected though. We are having our guests stay at the Dreams Resort for $108 a night in May and airfare will run about $400 a person so for 4 nights all inclusive plus air $800 not bad for a 5 day vacation. J. Cogliandro is our photographer and I love his work. He provides 3-4 days of full coverage during your wedding week, at one price and I believe he will travel anywhere. We wanted someone who wouldn't miss a single moment. Because after the cake is ate, the drinks are gone, all you have left is your photos. I want my kids to look back and go DAMN!!! Mom and Dad you guys rocked at your wedding and there are photos to prove it. We had Joe come to NYC to do our engagement photo shoot and shoot at our engagement party, this allowed us to get to know him and his style. Here is some of our engagement photos, for a teaser.
