I know that I have seen several threads about this topic, but it is hard for me to dig through all the threads to find exactly what I am looking for. I want to know if any past ROR brides arrived on a Thursday and were married on Saturday. My FI and I have already booked and were planning to arrive on Wednesday because we heard that you need to be there 2 full business days prior to your wedding date. However, we may need to change our arrival date to Thursday due to some other obligations. I was just wanting to know if this is possible or do we have to arrive on Wednesday? Any information you guys can pass along is greatly appreciated!!!! Brandie

Just checking in to see what everyone is doing for the 4th!!! We are having our 3rd annual 4th of July party! We have invited all of our friends and family, as we do every year. The parties can get a bit crazy! We usually grill out, drink, play cornhole, volleyball, the kids play water games, and we have a go kart and a 4-wheeler we try to race! Once the sun goes down we get ready for the fireworks. We live in the rural part of town. We have a little over 5 acres and everyone plans to camp out this year! It should be so much fun. I am picturing tents and campers set up all over my yard! HA! My FI went to Indiana last night to buy some fireworks! He came home with the back of his truck loaded! He knows the guy who owns this fireworks store and the owner actually designs his own fireworks. I guess this past year he spent 1.5 million having them made in China! Anyways, FI said he was just picking out a few large packages when the owner came up to him and started loading up his cart. FI only paid $265 for the fireworks he purchased. When he got home we figured out that everything he brought home should have been $716!!! We are going to have the best fireworks in town!!! Happy 4th everyone!

One of the more fun activities we did in chemistry class was to make ice cream using two different sized coffee cans. It was fun and it would be a great summer activity for the kids!

I hate to say this, being a Red Sox fan, but the Yanks have a nice little streak going. They may not be completely destroying the other teams, but a win is a win! Not to mention they are facing the Reds at Yankee Stadium this weekend. They could easily sweep them considering how Cinci has been playing. The Yanks do pay way more than they should for some of the guys they have picked up in the past. I am glad that Boston did not compete too hard to get Pavano! Look at what he has done since being in New York! Boston has had good luck going to their farm system. They have Lester and Masterson, who are pitching great! While Boston still has a high payroll, they are getting really lucky in the minors! Brandie

I am sad that I have missed this post as well! I love baseball! FI and I are huge fans. Since it is summer, that is all we watch in the evenings! I am a big Red Sox fan, although I have never been to Fenway! I was going to go this summer, but that was before we got engaged and started planning a wedding. So that may not happen. FI is a big Cincinnati Reds fan. The day before I graduate from college, June 13, we are going to Great American Ball Park in Cinci to Reds/ Red Sox match up. We just bought our tickets and I am so excited! Normally I have to travel up to Cleveland to catch a Red Sox game. It will be a great graduation gift if the Sox sweep the Reds! Froggie, make sure you and your FI add Great American in Cinci to your lists of stadiums to visit. It is a great place to see a ball game! There really is not a bad seat!

I have not been to ROR yet. We are getting married there next June. But in my research, I was looking for the same as you are, a place that has something for everyone. This forum is a great research tool! Do a search and look at past reviews that have been posted here. Also look at reviews of ROR on Tripadvisor.com. There is plenty of feedback on that site! My co-worker feeds the raccoons that come in her back yard. Sometimes she and her husband will be sitting outside after dinner and 10 of them will come up looking for left-overs. She says they come by almost every night around the same time. They are getting pretty fat!

I agree that the melt down with Jack is after his engagement with Kate. I am still trying to figure out whose funeral Jack went to a while back and no one else came. After last night I am thinking it could be Hurley. I could be completely wrong! I am trying to put more pieces together so that I do not feel so confused everytime I watch!

We have been together for 5 years and living together for 3 years. We got engaged in December '07 and it will be 6 years together after the wedding.

I agree! This thread is great! FI and I were talking about our budget tonight and we were trying to figure out what we want for the ceremony and reception. We are trying to keep that cost down because we are planning on paying for accomodations and flight for the maid of honor and the best man. We are planing to stay 9-10 nights, so the bulk of our money is going to be spent on travel!

We are only having a MOH and a BM. The MOH is my sister and the BM is his best friend. My mom was complaining b/c we were not going to have a large BP including a flower girl and a ring bearer. I have just explained to her that this is our wedding and this is how we would like to do things. It is your wedding, and you should do what is going to make the two of you happy! Good luck!!!

Hey everyone! I am new to this site. I just introduced myself in the newbie forum. I thought I should do the same for the Jamaica on too! We are getting married in June 2009 and our first resort pick is Riu Ochos Rios.
