  1. Congrats and Welcome. I vote Jamaica! :-) No advice though about the whole planning as I'm in the early stages myself. Good luck and happy planning.
  2. Awww...that's such an incredibly sweet and romantic proposal! Congrats and have fun planning!
  3. Congratulations! I think you can check the "planning Jounal" and the DIY section of the site for templates etc. Good luck! P.S. Welcome to the forum!
  4. Congrats Ashley and welcome to BDW. You can always look through Mexico, Planning Journal and Reviews sections for some ideas etc. Everyone here is really helpful. Good luck!

  9. Possibly! FI wants a 2010 wedding while I want a 2011 wedding - I'm not sure who is winning yet. LOL! I'm learning that it's never too early. We have friends and family scattered across the globe, and we've been planting the seeds that we're finally going to be tying the knot - after 8 or 9 years. It looks like we might have a fair turn out (fingers crossed). We're currently researching event planners, resorts, schedules etc. Take the time and enjoy it. Look into cementing your ideas and getting sales. The time goes by so quickly! Explore all options, because you never know what you will discover that will be perfect for you. Good luck!

People are going to read them and then throw them out after the shower. If you thank her for them at the shower she would appreciate it and everyone there knows you well enough to know they aren't your taste. This. It's a tough pill to swallow, but use her cards and thank her graciously.
  11. Geeze...that's rough, I'm sorry. That is honestly one of my biggest fears regarding this whole wedding planning deal. I know the day is for ourselves, but we do want people there to celebrate with us and have fun. I think the worst is having them tell you their needs, catering to it only to have them renedge. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefull they'll start confirming and no one else will drop out.
  12. Baahahaa....I have an idea of what I'd say - and all I can say is "if I did say it, I really wouldend up in confessional! Crazyiness!
  13. Hmmmm....I wonder if they deliver outside of the US?
  14. Jamaica has several cell companies and they accept international networks - meaning that your phone should work. Jamaican cell companies are : 1.Cable and Wireless 2.Digicell Mobile 3.Centennial Mobile Most US carries work there :Verizon, Sprint etc Most Canadian carriers work there as well: Telus, Rogers, Bell, etc Good Luck!
  15. Hi Driftaway, I agree the site looks absolutely beautiful! How big is the location exactly? Do you by chance have information regarding their policy on photography, as in would it be possible to get married elsewhere, but take some photos there (I'd pay for the day, of course). Do you think they would be open to it?
  16. Oh my goodness! That's beyond shady! Thanks for the heads up.
