  1. Hi guys, This is so ridiculous, but it's me again. We have gone through about 2 different dates, and then life got in the way. Mom got sick, twice- the last time ending in surgery, but she's doing great now. Brother got sick with a chronic condition so it will be forever. Dad not sick, so yay! And that's just MY side of the family. SO had grand mums dying, other grand mum totally her car x 2, knee replacement, etc. And we finished school and moved. So it's been a bit a doozy. But I'm back and in fully planning gear. Still want strawberryhill, in Jamaica. Hoepfully someone in the mean time has had a wedding there or have information. Glad to be back.
  2. Hey everyone. I've been away for awhile - life got hectic, I got sick, bills needed to be paid, and I am horrifically underemployed so that is really hurting us financially. But our date is in May, 2011, maybe even a little later. We're still working out our details, but we really are working on our finances. Until those get sorted out, nothing gets booked...but we're hoping to start booking by early Jan/Feb next year. Wish us luck! And congrats to everyone whose big day is almost here, here or has gone! :-)
  3. Wow! She's very talented and you're so lucky she's a friend. They are gorgeous and your guests will love them.
  4. Totally thought that too. That it was a publicity stunt, but I just couldn't figure out what for. Love his music HATE his antics. UgH!
  5. Congrats and welcome from another Jamaica bride. :-)
  6. Umm...I've heard it's bad luck to wear your wedding rings before you get married. Trying them on to check the fit is fine, but wearing them all willy nilly...bad luck!. But then again my source who told me this is fully of poo poo....lol!
  7. I think it is so wonderful that you are being so thoughtful and kind especially in regards to your cousin and MOH. If you know they can't financially swing it, and you can, then pay for it. It's such a lovely gesture and they will appreciate it more than you'll know.
  8. Well now you have the BDW consensus! :-) Have a kick arse wedding that reflects you and your FI. Have fun with it and enjoy every moment!
  9. Hi everyone! I'm another Canadian bride...well I'm having a DW, but I'm still a Canadian bride. I live on the East Coast in NB, and I'm planning to tie the knot in Jamaica. Just not sure when. hehehe. Cheers!
  10. I'm intrigued by this idea. I think it's great. What happens if people end up using expired film? Will it not turn out well? I hope this isn't a hijack...but I figured that it was part of the topic...
  11. I totally see what you mean. I think it's fine for kids to dine out because it teaches etiquette and reinforces good manners and habits. THAT being said, it really depends on the restaurant and the context. Somewhere kid friendly is good, but if it's a posh restaurant, maybe not. You want to work your way up with children. I think what really grinds me up is when parents fail to effectively parent their children. I understand that child care is hard and sometimes parents look forward to special outings etc...but you still have to parent, and if your child is wailing, then excuse yourself and go out for a bit. Take turns with your spouse...but to sit there like nothing is wrong is not cool. Other patrons can't tune your kid out like you can. Have some consideration.
  12. I have to admit when I first saw that night picture of the pool, I imagined putting a dance floor on it and doing a first dance under the stars. It is so beautiful!
  13. I love, love, LOVE this idea! Saving it for my inspiration files. :-)
  14. Thanks everyone. :-) Quote: Originally Posted by potted1 I am sure it is meant to be that you are back and now you can really plan the wedding of your dreams!! Goodluck You have no idea how true your words are. :-)
  15. Wow. I am speechless. I just hope she doesn't pull any attention grabbing crap at your wedding, because seriously you've gone through enough with her. I probably missed it, but did you and the other BMs go back to clean up the mess the day after? And was she and hubby there cleaning along? Man, you are a trooper!
  16. Those are awesome outfits. Seeing that comment about the wig and boots made me chuckle and gave me a great idea for my BD when I do them. Cheers!
