  1. This is a great thread, because we have been wondering where to go from PV too. We want to go somewhere, but it didnt seem like it was easy to get anywhere from PV, at least not cheaply. If we go up or down the coast, is driving the best way? Has anyone just rented a car and taken a drive?
  2. Bump? I was going to meet with Carol, as a backup.
  3. I will search it better next time. What I did find when i searched was some comments within people's wedding reviews. Good info to have. Thanks!
  4. Sorry you got bumped! The 25th is my last day there, and the only day they could do it too, otherwise I would have been okay with whatever date. I wouldnt care if we were both there, but I guess I understand where they are coming from. Oh well! BTW everyone, that was my thought. i wanted them to be surprised, but of course, my controlling mother was like that's silly. So a few days passed and then I yelled at her because she tells me I should do what makes me happy but then tells me not to be silly when I say what I want. It is all ironed out now. Just my mom, dad and sis are coming with me. That's okay because I would want my mom and sis, and wouldnt want to leave my dad out. Plus it will be a nice day for the 4 of us, the first in ages. Should be okay now! Thanks everyone!
  5. Thanks! I have seen that thread but didn't realize it covered this topic.
  6. Main thread? I thought I was in the main thread of PV?
  7. Dear Boss- Yes I am behind. Yes I have double the work to do of any of my peers, and my territory is from sea to shining sea. The other guys have territories from i-95 to the turnpike! Yes, I didn't answer every email. In the 4 hour flight from San Fran, losing 2 hours in the air back to Chicago, I have yet to figure out a way to answer the phone. I dont know why I have had to explain this to you...MORE THAN ONCE... COMMON SENSE...PLEASE, Really. Sorry, I love the smileys!
  8. Hello everyone! One question that my mom keeps asking me is how choppy is the boat ride at night from Las Caletas? My grandmother is 90 years old and we are a little concerned about the ride. I know someone else who got married on an island around pv (not LC) and I guess the boat ride was a little dicey. Has anyone taken the larger boat at night, even as part of the night tour? Were people queasy or anything? Some people will always get a little sick on boats, but was it just one or two, or was it rough? I just want to get some opinions, so that I can set my grandmother's mind at ease. Thanks!
  9. Uh Oh, I better get you my deposit soon, Nicole! Dont want to lose my chosen date once LC becomes all the rage!!! Jamie
  10. Thanks for the warning! I will search for that thread! Again, this is such a good idea to do a bulk order!
  11. Oh how fun! I will definitely look for the other people working with Nicole. Hopefully I will see you there! Jamie
  12. OMG I thought I was so creative when I thought about Pashmina's for the OOT bags, and then I find 11 pages of messages from everyone else doing this! I definitely want to include these. Any further information would be appreciated! Thanks!

What days will you be there? So, my fiance is soooo happy not to see LC before the actual wedding day. (He can't go next week, because of work and classes he is taking). He loves surprises, and loves the reviews and descriptions, so if I like it, I am booking that day! Anyway, this is the highlight of my PV vacation, and I have to wait until the last day! Oh well, thats the way it goes!
  14. Even more perfect! I do my site visit on 3/25. Can hardly contain myself!!! It's going to be a clown parade. My entire extended family is in town that week, so I will probably have mom, dad, sis, grandma, aunt, cousin, oh and me, the bride! Oh well, I guess they wont be surprised on my wedding day!
  15. Sorry it took me so long to get back...meetings all day! It was EM Vallarta. I wasnt looking to use them for anything at LC. It was either LC or another place and planner. I have seen other threads here about EM Vallarta, so I knew they were more, but let myself get panicked when she "everyone else has hidden costs". Thanks!
  16. I am treating it as "we would love to have you but understand if you can't make it". That way, if they want to b*tch about it later, I can repeat that "we would love to have you but understand...yada yada." Good for you for standing up for yourselves. The people who really matter and who this matters to will probably call you and apologize, and will probably still want to go. The others, well I guess it is good that you won't have to pay for them. Weddings are wonderful, but cause craziness!
  17. Yeah, I agree with you. If I have around 50 or 55 people, it does end up over $200 a head. But that is pretty much including everything. The other place, that doesn't even include THE LOCATION!!! I have seen other threads with regard to that particular company, but I wasn't sure I should say their name. But it seems like other people had a similar experience. I wonder if anyone who uses this site end up using them!? Thanks again for all of your help!

Mine is 9 months away and I already out of my mind! Thanks!
  19. Oh don't get me wrong, I don't mean to say that LC is a cheapy way to go at all. I fell in love with everything I saw, and was blown away by the entire location, service, everything. I just wanted to be absolutely sure that there couldn't be anything added that wasn't at least spelled out. By lower cost, I meant lower that the astronomical price quote I got from another LC. Nicole gave me a sample invoice which really did have everything listed, so when the other WC said that if I found anything less $$ than what they were offering, it was probably hidden costs that made up the difference. I couldn't understand how that could be. I just wanted to check with more experienced people than myself! LC was the first place I saw that got me really, really excited. Before that, I was a little nervous about how everything would go and how hard it would be coordinate. I feel great about it now! Thanks for all the quick responses.
  20. The ease is one of the things I already love about LC, without even seeing it yet! The other thing I love is that it all seemed to be really up front. The person from Em Vallarta just put a thought in my head which made me nervous. I cant imagine what would be hidden, since it was all on the invoice!
  21. Sorry, no, I would use Nicole. My heart is set on LC, but since I don't see it until March 20th or so, I figured I should see a few other places just in case I don't fall madly in love. So I was going to speak with one other planner just in case. But I guess the main thing is that I will most likely use LC and Nicole or Kelley. I just wanted to find out if what the other planner said is true, that the lower priced places have hidden costs. Did you experience hidden costs at Las Caletas?
  22. Hey everyone, I have a question that I am hoping some of you might have some insight into, especially Las Caletas brides. I made contact with a wedding planner from a company that most of us have probably heard of, who quoted me $200-$350 per head. That sounded absurd, esp because not everything was even included in that. So I let her know that while I value their expertise, we are looking for a more economical solution. She just wrote me back saying that in her experience the lower priced planners have many hidden costs. That doesnt really seem possible, at least not with Las Caletas, because the invoice really put everything possible in black & white. Furthermore, the other place seems like it is 2x the price, so I cant image over $10K in hidden charges, right? So I guess my long winded question is what have you experienced as far as hidden costs, especially insights into Las Caletas. I think this other place (Not Las Caletas) is trying to take me for a ride!
  23. Yeah, I am kind of having some questions about them too. Carolyn has emailed me and stated that the reason they are so expensive is because other companies have hidden costs, so they think they are right in line. I am looking at Las Caletas, and it looks like it could be twice as much to use EM Vallarta. Is that true, does anyone know if Las Caletas has hidden costs? Thanks!
  24. Good point, I didnt think about that with Cipro. For me it's a lifesaver because I am prone to UTI's. I think it is actually avail over the counter once you are there anyway. But yeah, make sure you are tolerant of it beforehand!
  25. I have heard that if you take a few pepto pills a day starting right before you go it can help fend off the Revenge. Haven't tested this, but have used immodium when I got back to get me thru the day! I used to go to Juarez for work and without fail, would have some problems for several weeks after I got home. The cure was Cipro, an antibiotic by prescription. If you let a doctor know you are going to Mexico, they will give you a small scrip for it. When I did that, I believe he told me to take it while there, regardless of symptoms. I actually waited until I had symptoms. Don't get me wrong, if a natural cure will work, that is great. But if you are the bride, it might be a good idea to have a little insurance just in case. Especially because some of those symptoms might ruin your day!
