    i agree on asking your mom. i have thought about this too. unfortunatly i am not that close with my dad so i doesn't feel right to ask him to 'give me away' so i will think i will be walking down the isle with my hubby. either that or walk alone.

    we are doing one but not through a "registry business" or anything. we have set amounts to help pay for our trip, for instance we have an excursin that is $100 for us to do. so we have it set up so that if 4 people put in $25 it would be paid for, etc. and the prices vary on specific items such as the air and hotel costs. we set it up through our travel agent at no extra cost to us. she was happy to help.

    the plan is to straighten mine as usual and then put it up. i get so hot so fast so it will have to be up no matter what! i will have to see how my hair handles the heat when i get there. if it wont go straight then i will be pulling it back curly. i may have to do the "put a few pins in it messy look" too. we will see.

    my best thought is Amtrak but it doesn't seem so helpful if you have to get onto a bus for half of a day. sorry i can't think of a better option for you guys. i hope you find something that will work. good luck & keep us all posted!

    wow, we don't have any children of our own yet but i think this is way out of line. esp with everything your parents have done for them. i can't even imagine saying anything like that to any of the parents. i'm really sorry you are going through this. this is supposed to be happy times, not drama! plus having a new baby they are going to need all the help they can get, i'm sure their mood will change.

    honestly i wasn't formal at all! i stuck to addressing them how i normally would. for instance my grandma i addressed it how i would send any xmas card or party invitation, "Grandma Marggie." granted i always got made fun of for sending out my invitations this way but that's just the way i've always done it and after a while i think everyone has gotten used to it. so when it came to wedding invites and save the dates i didn't change my ways. i think you can address them any way you want to.
