  1. I can tell this thread is several months old, but I just have to say I totally love your invites - the colors, the band around the envelope, everything!

I think it is utterly deceptive not to communicate this to patients/potential patients when they call. Additionally, I would report this information to the insurance company, not that he can be penalized but more so that they can update his info (if possible) with his new operating standards. We live in a country where people say and do all kinds of inappropriate things and then try to hide behind freedom of speech. The first amendment doesn't cover him in this situation. Respectfully, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be shocking, but was just sharing a different point of view. Actually it is not illegal to do "inappropriate" things or even things that waste other people's time. Our ideas of what is inappropriate or a waste of time are based upon our opinions. When inappropriate becomes illegal, that's another matter, but it is not a violation of the first amendment to do things that other people perceive as inconvenient. Other people inconvenience us and waste our time and money probably every day of the week to one degree or another. I’m glad in this country we all have the right to express our ideas and just because we disagree with each other, we aren’t arrested or silenced, like in many other repressive countries of the world. Everyone has their own priorities and beliefs and in the marketplace of free ideas, we all benefit from sharing different perspectives on issues, hopefully without belittling each other for thinking differently. One of my favorite teachers in school was government because of the discussion and she used to say, if one of us is forbidden to speak, then none of us is free to disagree.
  3. how CUUUUUTE! What beautiful pictures too! Great photography. I love his little face peeking over the fence.
  4. That is so funny! He's cute. Better get used to it - you might be getting that kind of reaction from him after you're married too! Men don't seem to do details very well.
  5. Actually, his beliefs and his work are who he is and I think it's great for him to be up front about what he believes and to stand with his convictions. He is a private individual, not a government employee. Everyone can make their own choice about whether or not they want to go there. He doesn't waste your time, he lets you know up front where he's coming from. We still have freedom of speech in this country and he was exercising it. We really need to stand up for our freedom to believe the way we want to, even if no one else agrees. Lots of people's beliefs are offensive to me, but I just walk away and let them do their own thing and I'll go do mine. Just like everything else in life, if you don't like the TV program, turn it off. If you don't like someone, walk away.
  6. Yeah, I understand. Everytime we talk about it, there is a big zero interest. I don't know if it will happen for us either. We might just go there for a honeymoon. But I am going to refuse to get my feeling hurt and am still going to hold out some hope. The bottom line for almost everyone I have ever known is *their money is more important than anything or anyone else*. $$$ come first. I try to be realistic and realize that is the way it is. Period. It sure is an eye opener to see that people you thought loved you, love their money more. I'm not going to let myself get angry though, there's no point in it.
  7. Don't let anyone push you around. You decide what you want and let MIL and everyone else know the way it is. Give a number of people she can invite. Period. If you don't put boundaries on her behavior, she will run your wedding and the rest of your life. Only if you let her get away with it.
  8. It does look like an L and for the amount of money you probably spent on it, you shouldn't have to wonder if you like it.
  9. I would just forget about it. There are so many other things to be stressed out over. Just chalk it up to experience...and get a sample of anything you ever let anyone make for you in the future.

  12. I'm so sorry to hear that. He might have had feline leukemia. You might want to test the other kitty. Sometimes they can live a long time, but you don't want to expose them to other cats.
  13. I'd say the reason FH won't speak to his mother about how she acts is because he has learned to cope with her by ignoring her. But now that you are getting married, he needs to realize that if he ignores her, then you are left to deal with her.
  14. Pregnancy Q & A and more! Q: Should I have a baby after 35? A: No, 35 children is enough. Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move? A: With any luck, right after he finishes college. Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex? A: Childbirth. Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational. A: So what's your question? Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right? A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current. Q: When is the best time to get an epidural? A! : Right after you find out you're pregnant. Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor? A: Not unless the word 'alimony' means anything to you. Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth? A: Yes, pregnancy. Q: Do I have to have a baby shower? A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly. Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again? A: When the kids are in college. 15. I wouldn't put any stock at all in what they say. It's like the horoscope - it's so generic and they go fishing for hints then make stuff up. Whatever.
  16. I love to watch Jon & Kate and then watch Super Nanny and Nanny 911. What a contrast! The organized Jon & Kate who are raising 8 kids and the families on Nanny 911 who have screaming hitting angry maniac children. LOL
  17. I have always loved the story of Born Free. This is just about the best video I have ever seen. I love it and I love Whitney Houston singing too.
  18. I thought if you toasted bread it would have less calories - like the calories were burned off or something! So I insisted my mother had to make me toast sandwiches all through high school, instead of "raw" bread!

  20. Maybe she won't come. But if she does, why can't you be honest with her and tell her not to be critical of anything you do and say because if she does you will ask her to leave. If she can come and be respectful and decent, then she is welcome. If she gets out of line, you will ask someone to escort her to her room before she ruins everyone's day. And really, if her sister will take the responsibility to watch her, that would be great.
  21. I think #1 is a very pretty dress but it looks like too much fabric to me. It covers you up. On the other hand, I love everything about #2 and it looks beautiful on you.
  22. Robin's egg blue is one of my favorite colors - and periwinkle. The lined envelopes are so pretty. You did a great job!
  23. Those are really pretty. I really like the black & white floral paper....and I love spray paint too! You can do a lot with it.
