I went with poolside....only because that was all that was available to me...but then you dont have to deal with sand fleas ;-)

I would talk to your TA about this because I had the same concern. She said that she will work with the RIU to get all of my guests the white (delux) wristbands, so that all of my guests can eat at all of the restaurants.

Its official! Melissa and Shawn have rode out HUrricane Gustav at the SGOR and are getting married today!!

Well, its Melissa's wedding day!! Our friend heard from them and they are safe and there. No word on their experience with the hurricane though.

Ours is a little different because some of the girls coming out to Vegas are not coming to the wedding in Jamaica and only 2 out of the 4 BMs can make it to Vegas for the Bach party. We got really lucky because last year we were staying at the Monte Carlo when it caught fire, so they gave us 4 free nights. We are using that for our hotel stay so the hotel is free. Other than that, all the girls have to pay for are the flights and any Vegas entertainment. We also have really good friends out in Vegas so they are getting us free Chippendales tickets and the bouncers at the clubs that they know will let us in. I think I'm going to give my SIL and FI sister some money to send to my MOH (the 2 sisters are not going to be able to make it to Vegas) so that she (MOH) thinks that its a contribution from the sisters when it is actually from me ;-)

Oooh that was my EXACT wedding before we switched to Jamaica!! You are going to have such a great time!!

Thanks Maureen. I know that many of our guests are just staying in regular rooms, but I'd like us to all be able to eat together somewhere nicer for the rehersal.

If anyone happens to be having a poolside reception while you are there, and you can take pics of that, that would be great!!

Can reservations be made at Mammee for a rehersal dinner with 30 or so people?

I think Melissa and Shawn left this morning. FI spoke with Shawn last night and it seemed like that was the solid plan. So hopefully everything will go smoothly for them and nothing gets damaged at SGOR.

That makes sense because we are getting married Sat and therefore couldn't use Seagrape for our reception...so we are going with the pool

Yep. Saw and held them in person. I was so excited when she got them. They are gorgeous. Very real looking and feeling!! Moreso for the bouquets. Made me feel more comfotable to touch and hold them before buying my own! Melissa let them have creative license and I think they did a good job.
