  1. Just got my invites in the mail today and I love them!! Now I need to put them together this weekend… Etsy seller DecadentDesigns – I strongly recommend Lynsey. She is so incredibly easy to work with, she is quick to respond, and she involves you in every step. Please let me know if you have any questions….sorry if the photos are a little large…. This is the invite with one of the fans I have made. I have finished a total of 3…I ran out of ribbon and bought the wrong type of pink ribbon. Guess I have another trip to Hobby Lobby this weekend…
  2. Ice Cream Maker!!! I didn't think that I "needed" one until I used my friends
  3. I also booked through my TA, especially the flights. If anything goes wrong, at least you have someone doing the fixing for you!!! No need to get even more stressed before or after your big day! Plus, if your TA works with the resort a good deal and has some pull with them, at least in my case, I feel like I get really quick and detailed responses.
  4. I haven't even bothered to ask her anything. I just forward my questions to my TA for her to find out for me... JamaicaBrideToBe - I think that you are going to be our guinea pig...you may be the first of the ROR brides to have the poolside reception. We are expecting LOTS of pics!!!
  5. You looked so beautiful and happy. What Jason did for you, during finals even!!!, was so sweet. Hey now you are an MTV star ;-)
  6. You can pay to have the chairs covered and for sashes. I think they just put candles and petals on the table.
  7. I just got mine from OTC as well. They are larger than some of the other ones I have seen, and I was a little surprised by that. I think they may have been over 10" wide although I didn't measure mine. But I can work with them, and I am not too concerned. I'll post pics once I find time to actually wrap the ribbon and buy the flowers for them!
  8. Thanks for sharing. You looked absolutely beautiful!! I don't know how I missed your post but I am so glad I found it!! I am using Brian as my photog as well and I am so happy to see how beautiful your pics came out.

Here is his Wedding Sample on YouTube: YouTube - steel drum wedding sample You can also listen to an audio sample at (click on "Soca My Heart"): MySpace.com - TONE-EAST MUSIC - Toluca Lake, California - Gospel / Pop / Other - www.myspace.com/toneeastmusic He said that he charges a flat performance fee, but not travel and lodging fees. He is really quick to respond and a really good deal, plus he is a great musician! I plan on meeting with him and speaking more with him (he is in my area), so I would talk to him. I will try to find his name on here!
  10. I went last night to return stuff and got a merch. credit. The manager didn't say anything about having to use it that night but I sure as $&*@ am heading over there tonight to get a few things. I really loved the bedding that I had on my registry but only got a pillow and sheets from it so far so I had to return them :-( Now I have to find new bedding that I love...
  11. Our TA has a package price for us which includes RT transportation through Jamaica Tours. I am cancelling that for me and my immediate family and hiring Lee's Tours since we are all getting in at the same time, its the same price and its private! I would look into Lee's tours or ask your TA if transportation is included.
  12. I am buying from Silk Rose Petals & Freeze Dried Rose Petals - Petal Garden I think I misquoted....it might be $50 for 3,000 petals which is still more than enough. I have samples of them, and they are really nice. The WC at ROR will pick them up once the wedding is over.

  14. We were going to order them but the FI was pretty against them. So neither he nor our fathers will be wearing them anymore. Guess that saves some $$ for us. Our package comes with 1 bout, but we are going to pin that to my little niece's (Flower Girl) Monkey so that she can carry that down the aisle

I know you cant bring live plants back...if I didn't go with silk I was thinking of having my bouquet replicated back in the US, but I solved that problem/
  16. Depends on what you are looking for...semi-private? Private? Dancing? Beach or Pool location? There is so much info right here in the Jamaica forum. You can also use the search function.
  17. oh yeah, I would freeze it when I got home.... No AHR. If you aren't coming to Jamaica...well then oh well!! We just don't want to spend the additional money.
  18. I actually think I am going to order 5,000. I think its only $50...bettter safe than sorry. Although, I think I am only going to do dense borders with a little sprinkle on the aisle so it could be overkill! I may be giving away my leftovers on here!!
  19. For a 9' aisle: Dense full coverage needs approx 2,700 petals For border only, approx 900 petals Aisle coverage per 100 petals - It breaks down to 1 square foot for dense, 2 square feet for moderate coverage. I got this info from: Rose Petal Quantity Calculator
  20. So...has anyone saved the top layer of their cake for their first anniversary? I know the cake may be a bit crappy, but I still want to save it!! Has anoyone brought it out of Jamaica and is that even allowed? I can bring a ton of saran wrap and tin foil to wrap it in, but getting it out of the country is my concern.
  21. Yeah, I'm having the same problem. my mom really wants to have them for 2 hours - the ceremony, pics and cocktail hour. But thats like $700!!! I am sure I can find better ways to spend $700!!
  22. Thanks so much for sharing. Everything looks like it worked out beautifully, even with the glitches!! Glad to see that Chandlyn is doing better at setting things up correctly for the brides.
  23. For those who haven't seen this...I found this on YouTube. Its the Wedding March played by one of the Steel Drum musicians. YouTube - Steel Drum Wedding March
  24. I just received confirmation from my TA that Mammee Bay is reserved for my rehearsal dinner Friday night for 30 people. She said that there is no charge...
  25. Just got back from the wedding and it was beautiful!! I am sure she will be reviewing SDOR and her at home wedding soon!!
