  1. Hi Manney, I didn't do a private reception, I had the same concerns that you did but once I talked to Erika everything was clear. They put us at the Torote restaurant, which I liked because of the views and the open terrace. It's the only restaurant facing the pool and ocean the one of the best menus besides the Italian. But the Italian is in the main square and away from the water. Anyway, they put us in the private terrace and we never felt we were sharing the space with anyone else. It was perfect! I recommended.

    Hello All!

HI Phoebe, welcome to the forum!

But from what I hear you basically plan everything when you get there which is why they aren't super responsive. If you want something in particular they want to know a week or two in advance but other than that you can do most things when you get there-at least that is what I've been told. When I went to the beach is was very rocky but that was three years ago, things could be different now. I disagree with this and wouldn't wait until the last minute to plan everything. The cake and the type of flowers that you're getting can be planned at the last minute, but everything else should be arranged before that. I would express concern and they should be able to help you. Erika at the Riu Santa Fe always got back to me and addressed every concern I had.
  4. I got married there on March 22nd. Here's my review, I hope it helps. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19192
  5. Do what you think it's right for you, follow your gut feeling. The savings is a great incentive for people to go and the ones that couldn't afford to go before could possibly attend now.
  6. A different shade would be nice and it adds a nice spark of color to the wedding party. I handed out pink and orange parasols and everyone loved them. I loved the way they look in the pictures.
  7. I can't even believe this. This is absolutely horrible! I wonder if the artist should be put through the same agony and grief that the doggy suffered and we'll also just call it art.
  8. Hi Jen! Welcome back, it makes the planning so much easier when someone just gets you. Vari sounds amazing! Congratulations!
  9. You can wear a crystal pendant, in a nice white or yellow gold chain.
  10. Welcome back Jen! You're pictures are awesome, I love the reception table. Can't wait to see the rest.
  11. Have a wonderful weekend and we can't wait to hear all about it.
  12. Spring storms are scary, you should see my backyard it looks like an explosion happened back there.

  14. Thank you Alyssa! I know, that was pretty funny. Yeah, we're framing ours. There was a web site that I found a long time ago that had some nice designs. If I come across it I will email it to you. Also, if you want yours to be unique I can help you.

Sandra - where did you get your Ketubah? I put them on light weight paper so they would curl a bit. If you want to avoid that make sure you use a heavier stock. I designed our own Ketubah, I did a search online for "interfaith Ketubahs" and changed the copy a bit. I'm attaching a copy of the Ketubah. Ketubah.pdf
  16. I'm glad you brought this up, especially for elderly. Mark's parents were in building 3 on the 3rd floor the first night and we had them moved because of that reason. Too many stairs to climb.
