I have stick straight hair, too. I don't think a diffuser works too well for that so don't go buy one. There is a product by ABBA called Sets that a hair dresser use in my hair a few years ago and it held the curl even in humidity. I am not sure where to buy it. Ask your hair dresser for ideas and buy products and try them before you go because when you get to Mexico, it will be hard to find products and communicate what you want. Good luck!

Ice and ibuprofen will help out. Fill up a paper cup with water and freeze it. Tear off the outer edge and use the cup to ice along your leg (ice massage). Also, get your feet checked out and get an xray to rule out stress fractures. Stress fractures in the tibia (shin bone) are common with increasing your activity quickly. You might need orthotics (custom arch supports) or try over the counter insoles such as Superfeet (found at REI and other sporting goods stores). Shin splints can be from overuse or overpowering of the muscles groups in your leg. Make sure you balance your exercises with calf exercises and exercises for the front of your legs. A good exercise to prevent shin splints is to lay in bed on your stomach and hang your feet just of the end of the bed. Pull your toes up(toward your head) against the mattress. This will strengthen your anterior muscles (shin) but only do this one the shin splints feel better or it will aggravate it more). Good luck and keep exercising! Try swimming or biking or elliptical to keep the inches off.

Try on BM dresses. They often come in tons of colors, including ivory/gold/etc. They are a lot less expsensive if you don't want the traditional white dress anyway. Good luck!

I have been in so many weddings, the latest cost $800 including hotel, etc. It really adds up. With a DW, your close friends would probably go anyway if you are having more than 25 people so does that count as an expense? Affordable dresses and having them pick their own shoes helps the BMs out.

I saw this dress and loved it! My BM like it too because it is easier to wear than strapless. Love the turquoise and the green (although the green is SO bright). It's a great price!

Your resort might be able to secure a date for you once you decide where to have it. You won't be able to get rates yet but your travel agent should have an idea. Otherwise, people would probably rather know the time of year and start saving than wait for details. Good luck!

I finally have an official wedding date. I am getting married at the Iberostar Parasio del Mar in RM on June 20, 2009. We chose the del Mar because your guests have to stay at the same resort as the wedding. We wanted an AI that everyone could afford but that is still beautiful. I think we will stay at the Lindo for our honeymoon or maybe we will switch hotel. Our first two choices for dates were taken so after talking to our families, we found a date that works for everyone. I received my email confirmation today from Gabriela! Ok, so the bird in her first wedding was so BAD! Loved all of the handbags for sure. Big and Carrie ending up together was a little too much, although I am glad but forgiving him would be harder than they made it out to be. I like Miranda and Steve back together because they belong together although what a jerk and I couldn't forgive and forget. I loved Carrie's assistant and how she helped her get her life back together. It was so different than the series because it was so serious the whole time. Everyone has changed since the series!
