  1. Thanks for the detailed info! I am looking forward to my wedding in June and you helped answer some questions. Love the hair and your pics!
  2. I am keeping my last name professionally, dropping my middle name, and adding his last name. That way, the kids will have the same last name, etc. When you work hard in your field, it makes sense to keep your name!
  3. Thanks for sharing Kathy! We are getting married at the Del mar and booked Sascha so I AM SO EXCITED after seeing your pics! How long did you book Sascha for?
  4. They would actually want to wear those again and Old Navy has tons of sizes!
  5. Hi. we're getting married at the Del Mar in June. We are using the Tropical for dinner and getting married on the beach. Good luck with planning!
  6. Check out White House, Black Market and Nordstroms.com. They both have more casual dresses that are super cute!
  7. We are using Sascha Gluck at Wedding Photography for Cancun and Riviera Maya, Mexico Toll free USA/Canada 1800-619-3957. The rates are great and I loved the example photos. We are going to pay the $300 fee to Iberostar but I think it's worth it. We are not getting a video because the resort video quality doesn't seem that great at Iberostar. In order to hire a photographer, we are not doing a private cocktail hour. Instead, we are doing cake and champagne right after the ceremony and then will go do additional photos. That way, guests will have a chance to drink and eat cake while we take photos. If they need more drinks, they can head to the bar before dinner.
  8. I am a Maggie bride. I bought mine at a local store and am waiting for it come in. It the Vonda. I love the fit! Vonda - by Maggie Sottero
  9. Check out Invitations by Dawn and Costco for other ideas. Michaels also has some new arrivals from the Brides magazine line with brighter colors.
  10. The wedding coordinators take a little while to get back to you (up to a week) but are helpful. Here's what I can tell you: -the guests have to stay at your resort level or higher- this is why we chose the Del Mar to get married at because we wanted to make sure everyone could go and stay at that level or higher if they wanted -ceremony sites- beach, chapel, or gazebo for the Del Mar/Beach sections. The gazebo holds about 40 people so that might be a consideration. -they have an ipod hook up and the DJ is $200 for 4 hours, musicians are $300-400 for mariachis or violin Let me know if you have more questions. Post your email and I can send you some of the attachements they sent to me regarding the wedding. Good luck!
  11. Love them! Where did you get the starfish stamp? Also, did you mat each of the inserts and what store did you get your supplies at?
  12. Just bought cute BM dresses at Ann Taylor on sale and the girls love them. Check it out, also look at J Crew and Target. All the summer stuff is on sale and you can get some great bargains.
  13. We started P90X about 2 months ago and are heading into month 3 (it's set up in a 3 month cycle). We are getting good results with the workouts and following the eating plan about 80% of the time. We bought a pull up bar that doesn't ruin the door frame and some bands and we can do it together in the garage. I like the results but it is tough. It gets better after the first few workouts so don't give up. Check it out!
  14. Hi, we are expecting about 70-100 people as well. I am thinking about doing a small scale bag for each couple using a paper gift bag in our colors and putting a few things for their trip. I am going to do a booklet of things to do in the area and a map and print those myself and throw in a couple of beachy things since we will be in Mexico. But, nothing too big because you have to carry it down there. People will appreciate it and it doesn't have to cost a ton.
  15. I got a 15 pocket organizer (office paper size) at an office supply store and put tabs for budget, dress, decor, hotel, etc. That was, I can put pics I tear out of magazine in the slots. It works great!
  16. Talk to a travel agent because they will know which resorts are offering specials such as kids stay free. In 2008, Dream and a few other resorts had a kids stay free deal. Also, check Applevacations.com because they will have info about kids. In Mexico, Barcelo and Iberostar had lower prices when we were searching for a location that were more affordable than some of the other resort and still 4-5 star quality. The Viva Wyndham is 3 -4 star and is cheaper. You can always upgrade for your honeymoon if that's important to you! No matter what you choose, make sure you and your FI are doing what you want. Family has a way of making their point but in the end, it is your wedding! Good luck!
  17. Maybe say "When booking your travel, please consider staying at least one or two nights at our hotel to avoid the $70 day pass fee at the all inclusive resort." We have friends doing the timeshare thing and talked to them about the day pass. They decided to stay 2 nights there to avoid the hassel of taxis, etc and enjoy the AI for a little while. Good luck!
  18. I am getting married on June 20, 2009. Keep in touch while we are planning!
  19. I am getting married on June 20, 2009 at iberostar del Mar. Did you use a travel agent for packages- did they ue Apple or Funjet? I am in the process of getting quotes from a BDW travel agent.
  20. Check with your hotel to make sure you can have a large group. Iberostar and some of the Riu hotels can accommodate a large group but others can't. We are inviting 200 plus but only expect 60-80 to come.
