I am also a May 2009 bride. I'm not doing STDs, just skipping right to the invitations. I'm waiting until the end of June/early July to send them out. Airlines post their flights schedules no more than 330 days in advance, so after I see the schedule, I will include that information with my invites and send them out. There are such limited flights to St. Lucia, so that makes it easier on me! I'd say it all depends on how far along your planning is. If you have a definite place and you know the exact dates, I see nothing wrong with sending out the invitations. If you are a little unsure, then go with STDs. I will be doing boarding pass invitations, so since I'll be working so hard on them, I didn't want them to become just a formality. I want them to actually invite people. Do what works for you!

Isn't it just birds that don't come back if they pick up your scent? I could totally be wrong though.

I'm actually no NY expert. I'm one of those crazy commuters that rides the train for an hour and a half each way to get to work. I've never actually stayed over in the city, but I can certainly look at some hotels in certain areas for you guys. I'll do my best Kelly!

Woo hoo! Another St Lucia bride! Finally! I don't know much about Jade Mountain, but I have heard some wonderful things about it (and it looks absolutely beautiful). It's located in Soufriere which is in the southern part of the island. That's the quieter, more romantic part, and many of the natural attractions are in that area as well. There's a travel agent on here, Jennifer, who is familiar with the Caribbean, so she may be able to answer some questions for you. Also, Tripadvisor.com may be a great place to get some advice. I'm going the villa route so I didn't look into too many hotels. I'm so excited to have someone to talk to about St Lucia! Have you been there before or is this your first time? I just LOVE that island! Happy planning!
