  1. I was asked to be a BM way after everyone else one time. It didn't bother me at all. And you still have 9 months, so it's definitely not too late. I would ask the future in-law.
  2. I just wore jeans and a tank top. When I do my after photo, I will wear the same outfit. I think for those who do multiple seasons, we should post all of our pictures at the end. So for all who do season 1, the before and after will be posted at the end of that season. Then those who continue into season 2, we should post all three pics (since season 1's after pic will be season 2's before pic). It'd also be nice to see total weight lost at the end, even though weight lost from the season 1wouldn't count in season 2. I just think it would be great motivation to see changes over a longer period of time. Does this all make sense?
  3. I forgot my Weight Watchers book, so I can't send Ann a picture today, but I lost 1.2 this week! I'm SO close to 10 pounds (0.2) so I better hit it next week.
  4. Betsy, you look stunning! Your dad's pink converse are fun!
  5. Yay Betsy! Congratulations Mrs!
  6. Yeah, I was really proud of her for standing up and doing something about it. I hope she does really well. Things are definitely off to a positive start. I will pass along the words of encouragement!
  7. OK, how did I miss all this? I'm back in for season 2. I actually like giving 2nd and 3rd place a little something.
  8. Some of you may have seen me post somewhere that FI's cousin has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her name is Alice and she is only 31 years old. She is scheduled for a double mastectamy and reconstructive surgery next week. Instead of sitting around and sulking about it, Alice has decided to do something positive with her situation. She has started My Vision Foundation to assist other young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The organization's main goal is to assist women with the costs of harvesting eggs so they may one day have children, but it offers other types of support as well. I thought I would post this on here in case anyone knows of someone who could benefit from My Vision Foundation. Here is the website: Home
  9. National Certification is a big deal! Good luck Amy!!
  10. Hey guys. Bad news. I just found out this weekend that Chris' whole family is going to D.C. the weekend of June 7th. His cousin, Alice, was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month or two ago (she's only 31) and we're putting together a team for the big walk down there. (Her family lives right outside of D.C.) So obviously I can't make our meet-up, but I'm sure you guys understand. Oh, and in case anyone is interested in Alice's story, she started a foundation to raise funds for young women who haven't had children yet to have their eggs harvested. This is the website: Home Thanks for understanding. I will definitely be up for the next get together though.
  11. I spoke with American the other day and asked about charging for a second bag. He said he hadn't heard anything (which I knew he wsa going to say), but he sounded genuine. Of course after the mess they're dealing with right now, I'm sure they'll need to recoup the money from somewhere. Grrr....
  12. Delta adopted this policy as well.
  13. That's like the insurance company doesn't cover my ring in the event of a nuclear war. If the ring is damaged, I've probably desintigrated.
  14. This is getting a bit scary. It's like you're afraid to book a flight because you don't know if the airline will be around in a week!
  15. Is she looking to get married on the beach, at a resort, at a villa?
  16. I'd prefer not to roll it over. What if some people don't plan to participate in season 2? Glenda, you've been at the top of the list every week. Of course you're in the lead.
  17. I come from a super conservative family and I know my grandmother would freak out if that was the picture on the stamp. We threw a shower for my SIL and put her head on a hula girl's body for the invitation and she was really bothered by it. Also, a lot of my family doesn't drink, so that's an issue too. I know that probably seems weird to a lot of people. I guess what I'm saying is don't just brush their feelings off as backwards thinking. My parents struggle with this a lot...they haven't changed, the world around them has. I like Maura's suggestion about sending regular stamps to them and the really cute ones to everyone else. Why cause waves if you don't have to?
  18. Honestly (and I'm surprised I'm saying this), I'd kick her out. Your MOH is supposed to be helping you, not causing more stress. Plus you don't even know if she'll be at the wedding. I'm so sorry you're dealing with MORE family drama. Good luck with your decision.
  19. My reception is at a villa, not a resort, so I don't have this issue, but I would pay for the guests' day passes. They are already spending so much to attend the wedding, I would feel funny asking them to pay.
  20. Way to be creative! Great idea! I actually like the business tone you gave it instead of personalizing it. I know my FI (who also works in finance) wouldn't want something with a poem on it sitting on his desk. Just trying to think like a guy (scary!).
