  1. Someone on here had mentioned Windjammer, but I can't remember who. If I was choosing to get married at a resort, I would select Windjammer. We're going the private villa route though. BTW, I don't think it's possible to dislike St. Lucia. It's such a beautiful place, you're going to love it!
  2. I think the brown dress looks special whereas the pink one is just an everyday dress. Is your sister your MOH? If so, have your BMs order that brown dress and then when your sister can get to DB, have her select whatever she's comfortable with in that color. If she choses the same one, great, if not, no big deal since the MOH dress is often different. Just an idea.
  3. I wouldn't worry about insulting co-workers. I used to work in an office with about 25 people and when someone got married, I wasn't expecting to be invited. An AHR will solve your problem. We're going to have a big BBQ when we get back to celebrate with everyone.
  4. Hey everyone. Sorry I've taken so long to update what's been going on. Life has handed me a lot lately. Here are some updates on my family situations that so many of you have been very supportive of: FFIL: FI's dad went through 6 chemo treatments in 5 days to fight the leukemia. He did very well and only reacted to one treatment--something called "Blue Thunder" that looked like dark blue ink. Scary. It's been about a week since his last treatment and he is doing pretty well. He actually has not lost any hair (yay, something positive!) and he's been dealing with a constant sore throat. He had a fever of 102 a few nights ago which can be pretty dangerous when you pretty much have no immune system. He had a reaction to the meds they gave him for it (something he'll have to take again, so now they have to give him something to counter that before he takes it), but that's really been the worst of it. I was at the hospital on Monday and he's in pretty good spirits. What to pray for: That the chemo will put him into remission. If it does not, that his sister's bone marrow will match his. FI's cousin: Alice will be going through her 3rd round of chemo for breast cancer today. (For those interested in more info on Alice, check out my siggy.) Her first two rounds went very well and her numbers have been up! Her parents flew out to California to help her out for the rest of the week since the chemo makes her really sick and weak. What to pray for: That this round of chemo and the 4th (last) one will put her into remission. Also, that her foundation's third event at the end of the month will be successful. New info: Yesterday, FI and I closed on our condo--something I haven't even had a chance to mention on this forum. A few hours later, I received a call from my mom that they're putting my grandmother (Nana) on Hospice. What to pray for: Strength for my mom. Also for Nana to go quickly. She's so unhappy and uncomfortable and she says she's ready to see Papa again (my grandfather passed away 28 years ago). That's so hard to even say. It just doesn't end. I feel like we're getting slammed with everything under the sun right now. I know I've been asking for a lot of prayers lately, but if nobody minds, I'm going to ask for more. I feel like my plate is just so full, I really can't handle anything else. Thank you for listening and for all of the support you have given me. I will continue to update you all as things unfold.
  5. I wonder if it would be easier to just purchase them in Jamaica?
  6. Amy, you are such a hottie! I can't wait to see the pro pics, but these were great!
  7. Abbie, I can't believe it's here already! Everything looks wonderful. You're going to have a gteat time at both of your weddings!
  8. Maybe the elephant lady thought that the moon was a OK, I tried. What's up with the turd? This is why you should always put the seat down.
  9. I've debated switching my username as well. What do you think? Should I switch from froggie1013 to Kristy?
  10. Oh yay! Have a blast. I'm going camping next weekend and I can't wait.
  11. Thanks girls. Now on to the second question. I know that cancellation due to a pre-existing condition (like FFIL's illness) will not be covered. Has anyone seen or heard of a policy that will allow this or maybe will take on that risk for an additional cost? This is one situation where procrastination is really hurting me. This would not have been an issue 2 weeks ago. Grrr...
  12. Obviously I've seen travel insurance mentioned numerous times, but has anyone gotten wedding insurance? My parents and I had talked about getting it before, but now with FFIL getting sick, we really want to start researching it. So for anyone who has gotten it, who did you go through? Did you insure the amount of your entire budget? How much did it cost? TIA
  13. I love you guestbook idea! I may be stealing that.
  14. Welcome to my world! I commute 3 1/2 hours every day to and from NYC. I've been doing it for a year, so I've adjusted to the schedule, but I was exhausted for the first month or so. Eventually he'll get used to it. Just be patient, even though it totally sucks.
  15. I can (almost) relate to what your going through right now. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Cancer is just so terrible. I'm praying for your family.
  16. Definitely definitely definitely #1. You look smashing in it!

Has anyone's cat gotten the handle of a plastic bag stuck around their waste? She's done this a few times and it is hysterical to watch her freak out.
  18. I think you might have too much with three decorations on the table. It'd be pretty, but you may run out of room.
  19. You mean I'm not the only one with hair breakage from my kitty? That's a relief to hear!
  20. My cat Tori is a plastic bag lover too. She also enjoys chewing on cardboard and her absolute favorite...my hair. Yes, she jumps on my head and starts licking and chewing my hair, particularly when I'm sleeping.
  21. I think #1 looks the best on you and it's such a beautiful dress.
