  1. Wow, I wasn't expecting such a large response! I have a feeling two sessions will need to be scheduled! What I will do is go through the list based on who responsed/PMed me first. That's the only fair way I can think to do it. I will ask for a $50 deposit to hold your spot and we'll do the payments through Paypal so everything is secure. Then, when BD day comes, you'll only need to pay an additional $100 for the session and $100 if you want hair and make-up done. Sound fair? The date is definitely Feb. 7th. My friend and I have our hair and make-up appointment scheduled for 11:00, so the actual photo shoot will probably start around noon. Julie will make the appointment for you. So I guess I should start PMing people! This is super exciting! Once again, I'll keep everyone posted.
  2. I doubt airfare is really going to drop. The airlines have a lot of debt to overcome. Our flights from NY were $608 per ticket when we booked in July and it's about $50 higher now. If you have at least 10 people flying with American, make sure you get the wedding discount. It's good for 10% off the flight and it's super easy to get. Last time I checked the DC area (I have a few guests coming from there), flights were just under $600 with the discount. I think it was $585 with a layover in Miami. Oh, and they just added an evening flight from Miami and additional flight to Miami from St. Lucia which I think is great. Hope this helps.
  3. OK, I have an update. Julie can shoot up to 5 girls. I have asked her if my friend and I can have an 11:00 hair/make-up appointment, so I'm thinking we'll be shooting around noon. I'll ask for definite answers towards the end of December. Please really think about if you can commit to this. I would hate to have to exclue someone and then have someone else back-out at the last minute. Also, think about whether you want to have hair and make-up done because an appointment will have to be made. Talk to you soon girls!
  4. Hey ladies. I'm going to e-mail Julie to see how many girls she's willing to shoot in one day. Maybe we can put a marathon together! I'm also going to see if I can get a definite time. 'll continue to keep you posted.
  5. You'll be OK. Just relax and enjoy the ride!!!!!
  6. I think the third one is flattering for many shapes and sizes. Don't let it stress you out. Just pick want you want and be done with it. You can never make everyone happy, so why even try?

Brandon Boyd, lead singer of Incubus. I am completely in love with his voice. My question: What's your sexual fantasty and have you ever played it out?
  8. I'm not very crafty, but I made my boarding pass invites and am SO happy I did. I got a large pack of white cardstock from Wal-Mart (110 lb.) for like $6. They turned out really great and I would HIGHLY recommend making your own invitations.
  9. Do what works for you and FI. Don't feel bad and let your guests brings you down.
  10. Happy -1 year anniversary! FI and I popped open a bottle of champagne and celebrated ours! Hey Princessina, we're date twins!
  11. What a jerk. I'd tell him not to worry about being able to make it to the AHR because he's not invited. My FFIL just passed away a month and a half ago and I know he would've given anything to see his son get married in St. Lucia. Life is so short and people can't even make time for their familes. That's so ridiculous! It hurts FI and me everyday that he won't be there to celebrate with us. If your dad doesn't want to be there, then screw him. Focus on those who are actually going to return your love for them.
  12. I only perforated the RSVP card and left the others alone. I wouldn't bother with it since you don't have an RSVP card.
  13. I was searching through the DIY forum and found these. So cute! Shelley, do you still ahve the pattern for this?
  14. Looking back at some of my e-mails, it looks like I was quoted about $40 per center piece.
  15. I haven't even thought about that. I just assumed I would get some local flowers made up by a florist down there. What kinds of prices are you talking?
  16. OK girls, I have a date. It is definitely February 7th. We will be shooting at her studio in CT. The time will be scheduled as we get closer to the date, so I'll keep you posted on that. I'll also let you know when a definite confirmation and deposit should be made, but I don't think that'll be for a while. Yay! Fun! I'll get to take sexy pictures and meet some of you girls!
  17. Hey girls. Yes, we're still planning on doing this, probably at the beginning of February. I'm hoping for Feb. 7th. I apologize I haven't been around lately to follow up on this. I have had three deaths in the family since July (including one this past Friday), so I haven't really been paying attention to wedding plans. If we get a group of at least four girls together, the photographer will shoot us for $150 per person. The regular cost is $250. If you want to get hair and make-up it's an additional charge of $100(which my friend and I are going to do). When you go to her website, click on her blog and go to her August posts. That has information on boudoir. A few other girls on BDW have done group sessions and they said that they were super fun. I'll be sure to let you all know the date when I get it and hopefully we can get a great group together!
  18. That's hysterical. I hope she was the type of bride that could just laugh it off.

I am dying to see someone's review and pics of their wedding.....oi! Stephanie Sometimes people disappear after they get married. Hopefully she'll pop up again soon. Welcome to all the newcomers! It's so nice to have a handful of St. Lucia brides!
  20. Good for you Kari. As a fellow St Lucia bride, I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.
  21. Thank you all for your kind words of support. We just had FFIL's funeral yesterday and FI is having a tough time this morning. We're going to visit the gravesite this morning with his mom and aunt. People aren't kidding when they say this is difficult.
