  1. Hi Everyone I got married in April 2009 in Jamaica, and I'm now 13 weeks pregnant! We've just had our 12 week scan and just told everybody and we're so excited!!
  2. congratulations, will go read your review now x
  3. I'd definitely try ringing instead. I got mine 5 weeks after the wedding, also in April!
  4. I wore these for my wedding on the beach at ROR, still got sand in my feet but they were easy to walk on. £55 from Else Lambada Wedding Shoes - Elegant Steps more photo's on their website.
  5. our witnesses did not provide proof of who they were (passport/birth cert etc). Our birth cert and passport was photocopied by a solicitor and then he put an offical stamp on to say he had seen the originals. I then scanned and emailed. Chandlyn said this was fine, I didn't need to post it. (I'm from the England)
  6. congratulations, reading your review brings back good memories from my wedding!
  7. Hi I had the caprice package and chose the chocolate cake. It was fine as cakes go. It was the standard one included in the package and there was plenty for 18 people. I wouldn't upgrade though I don't think they are worth it. I think they will add rum if you ask. We made up for it when we got back home at our reception, and had a 3 tier proper cake, bottom layer chocolate, second tier carrot cake and top tier fruit cake. It was shapped like 3 suitcases and was lovely!
  8. Hey Tracy I'm not scottish, I'm from England, I got married in Jamaica April 2009. I'll be glad to help you as I had to do tons of research for the things I wanted, as most of the posters are from the US and Canada so you can't get their items in the UK!
  9. We upgraded our free bouquet and also bought corsages for the ladies and button holes for the men. My bouquet and the other flower arrangements lasted about a week in our room. The button holes didn't last longer than 1 day. They matched the flowers and colours for the bouquet with the ones that go on the gazebo. They also matched flowers on the cake too.
  10. Hi Blurt Congratulations, you looked stunning! Love you dress. Hope you don't mind me putting your photo's in this thread like this. Some brides to be don't have enough points to open attachments.
  11. we got married 8 April, received certificate 15 May approx 5 weeks after.
  12. When we got to resort, they didn't ask to see our documents. I offered them but she said it was fine and only a precaution in case the notorized ones didn't arrive!
  13. I had the steel band at my wedding. They did the traditional wedding march as I walked down the aisle (my request) other than that I just said to play anything reggae/jamaican. Think they played a Phil collins one but to be honest its all a blur!!

  15. Hi We took our originals to a solicitor. They photocopied and then stamped their name and address on the bottom, and signed it. Think it cost us £10. I then scanned the documents and emailed to the Wedding Coordinator, rather than wasting £70+ to post them. Hope this helps.
  16. that has come round really quickly! hope you enjoy every minute of it. The resort is wonderful.
  17. our third vase had sand from the beach in it. the minister poured that in followed by the parents
  18. Hi Kinny111 We met a couple on here and facebook who were in your situation and we said we would be witnesses for them. Hope someone is there at the same time as you - its nice getting to know people before hand!! Claire
  19. I received ours about 2 weeks ago, it said signature required on the envelope, however it was just posted through the door!!
  20. We did the sand ceremony at our wedding after the normal vows but before signing the register. I found some wording on the internet and gave to the WC but she never passed this on to the minister and he used his own - which was quite similar anyway. We bought from a company in England that is owned by a US company - weddingstar I think. It came with 2 large vases and also a smaller one (which had the sand fromthe beach in - and which the parents poured as the foundation sand). We had it engraved with our monogram and wedding date. We took in hand luggage but packed it in bubble wrap. The only problem we had in transport was on the way out of Jamaica. I think they thought it was drugs so the made us open the case. But they soon sent us on our way when they found out it was sand!!
  21. I went to Renova Spa the day before my wedding. We had the caprice package with included a mani/pedi but I upgraded both to a french polish for a cost of $12 per mani/pedi. They did a good job, but they do talk about tips all the time. My nails aren't very long anyway but they grew during my first week there! Here's a photo hope it works!
