What I'm planning on doing is prepackaging my OOT items in individual ziplock bags into one suitcase along with my OOT bags so I will take only the number of items I need. Once I get to the hotel, I can just dump the items into each individual bag. We have a lot of our guests flying in with us, so if we need to I will pass out the ziplock bags for guests to add to their carryons and just get the bags from them once we all get to the hotel. That way your items are still together and will be easy to distribute.

We thought we were only going to have about 20-30 guests and that's what we had budgeted for. We are actually going to end up with a few more because some of my FIs single friends are booking last minute because they are attempting find dates first So, not only will I have more guests, but guests that I probably won't ever see again (because those friends of his date a different girl every month!) and now we have to spend extra money on the wedding to fit them in! Oh well, I guess the more the merrier, right?! I agree with you on the long tables, I like how everyone gets to mingle together and it will be a great way for the family and friends to really get to know eachother there.

I have 42 people booked so far, so my WC said we will probably end up having 3 long tables. So, my plan is to have shells and starfish down the table runner and maybe a set of two centerpieces on each table. Those vases would look totally cute and they are compact enough where it wouldn't be a hassle traveling with them. Can't wait to see pics of your final centerpiece idea, they are going to look great!

I love that!! That's the idea I was going with too. My original idea involved a large vases with candles and sand in it, but the idea of traveling with numerous vases that size was not appealing to me. My luck, they would arrived broken!

Does anyone have a hair flower for sale?
Mrs. Martin replied to Kat81's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
I have white one if you want it. I bought it and decided I wanted a colored one instead. It feels real and looks really nice. Let me know... 4" Lilly Flower Hair Clips for $7.50 Each -
I desperately need to start confirming what I'm going to be doing for centerpieces and then start purchasing them!! For some reason this is the one thing I keep pushing back!! However, just in these two last weeks I got these completed: my OOT bags and goodies to put into them, got my FI's wedding band, my hair style has been confirmed and tested ( it's exactly what I wanted but now I hope the hotel's stylist can duplicate it!), the makeup I want to wear has been purchased, ordered flowers, and my FI's suit has been narrowed down to the one. I think that's pretty good for two weeks! These next few weeks I'm going to try to get my starfish boutonnieres completed, complete my wedding/travel brochures and mail them out, purchase parent's gifts, of coarse brainstorm about the centerpieces, and get my butt to the gym to tone up as much as possible to start getting my alterations done to my dress That's seems like a lot!!

I don't know if this is the right place to post this thread but here it goes- I just got back from Vegas for my friend's bach party and she gave us these tank tops. I have to admit, I was a little shy when it came to wearing it in public, but after a few drinks I was ok with having "bitch" written across my chest. Just an idea for those of you who want to give your wedding party something fun for a bach party!!

We're flying with Alaskan Airlines and so are all of our guests because at the time, they were the only airline that flew direclty from Los Angeles to Cancun. Well, a few weeks ago over half of my guests were notified that Alaskan now cancelled all flights from Cancun to LA for all Tuesdays until the end of the year! Most of my guests were staying from Wednesday through Tuesday and now they were automatically booked for a Wednesday flight. I feel terrible because one more day is causing some problems with a few people because of baby-sitting issues, finances, etc. I've been stressing out that Alaskan will choose another day to cancel their flights, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Ivory shoes??
Mrs. Martin replied to Kat81's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Those are cute! I don't think it will look bad at all! I personally don't like white shoes, so I think they look much better when they have a hint of color. -
Oh and I completely forgot to mention the bronze facial tint I purchased from Sephora is great! It's from Benefit and it's called "Talk to the Tan". It does not come off until you wash your face. I like it because my face is so much lighter than the rest of my body right now and it helps me look even. I mixed it in with my foundation, or you can simply apply it directly to your face or after you have applied your makeup. It would be great for those of you who don't want to tan your face, it will give you a bronzed look right away!

I have been stalking Sephora and trying samples of almost everything in the store in order to narrow down what I will be using for the wedding. So far I have confirmed I will be using the eyeshadow primer from Two-Faced. This stuff is amazing! I have extremely oily skin and I just used it on my Las Vegas trip with 112 degree weather and it did not smear or crease. This was the first time ever after many, many products I tried that my eyeshadow stayed on perfectly. One night (after too many drinks) I fell asleep with my makeup on and my eyeshadow still looked great! I'm torn between Laura Mercier and Makeup Forever's oil-free foundation. They both work great and give me the exact coverage I'm looking for without feeling too heavy. I never wear foundation, I usually use Bare Minerals, so for me to like any foundation means a lot! I haven't found a face primer I'm totally in love with, so I will continue trying samples for those. I did try on Benefit's "That Gal" face primer, but I wasn't too thrilled with it. I felt like it added unwanted shine to my face. It would be great for those of you looking for that JLo "glow" to your face. It did keep my makeup in place though. I hope this helps for those of you trying on different products.

I guess I will send that in August sometime. I am still not sure how many people we will have. Right now it is 24 but could easily be over 35 by the end of it. If so I will have to go buy more bags and fillings for the OOT. I can't believe how fast it is coming! YAY! We are having our legal ceremony on 8-8-8. I need to figure out what we are going to do for that. Are you girls doing the Boudoir pics? I am thinking of doing them this month sometime. If I can get a freakin' tan with as much as I have been running around I have let that slip. I'm such a dork, I totally forgot about the wedding party's attire!! I'm pretty much telling them the color and style of clothing to wear, but they are not wearing the same thing. It's just our brothers and sisters in the wedding party, so I'm sure it hasn't slipped their minds like it has mine! I'm not sure if I'm taking bourdoir pics. Our wedding budget has had to expand since we budgeted for about 30 guests and now we have close to 50so I may not have the $$ to spend on the pics. Good luck if you decide to take them!

Hi!!! I thought I would check in with all the September brides and see how everyone is! Can you believe September is coming soooo soon?! Does everyone have all the major obstacles covered? I think I'm almost done with the big stuff, it's just little things here and there I need to start working on. We are having more guests than we anticipated, so I have to go back and purchase more items for my OOT bags. I think I may not have enough raffia fans for the ceremony as well. I'm going to have to count them tonight. I hope everyone's planning is going great!!

Congrats on picking your resort Have you heard back from the coordinator yet to confirm your date? It took almost a week for them to reply to me. Your guests sound like mine, all they want to do is party! The location is perfect for that because I already know our friends are going to be drinking at the hotel, walking to every bar downtown and drinking there, then when the sun starts coming up they will walk back to the hotel and drink some more! Good luck with your planning and again, I will keep you posted on all the info I start receiving from the coordinator these next few weeks!

Let me know if you end up booking at RPLA and I'll give you as much info and feedback as I can. I'm going to start finalizing my wedding plans with the WC these next two months, so I'll keep you posted on anything I find out about flowers, cake, etc.

I really want a nice canvas picture and I'm just not sure if I'll be able to get that with the resort photog. If you have any information about the photographer please let me know. Thanks! Amy Hi, Yes, you can bring an outside photographer. I hired Del Sol and Playa Weddings for my photos and video and I will just have to pay for a day pass for each of them. I'm hoping they are not to strict with this because I will be having two photographers and one videographer and the day passes are $100for each person. Maybe they will give me a two-for-one deal on the photographer's day passes....

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t20448 Hi, Check out this thread above. You will find some pics of Riu Cancun posted by Jenny. I'm getting married next door to Riu Cancun, at Riu Palace Las Americas. Riu Can and Palace Las America's are located in the heart of Cancun. So, if your guests want to walk to any shopping centers, clubs, or bars, that location would be perfect!

Riu Cancun???
Mrs. Martin replied to cougs's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I'm getting married at the sister hotel next door, Riu Palace Las Americas. I have no pics of Riu Cancun, but I did visit a few times when going to the club there. It's beautiful and in a perfect location.
