  1. sorry girls, I should have mentioned that our ceremony is on the beach so its very casual!
  2. So I have been hunting for a bridesmaid dress. I think everyone always wants to select a bridesmaid dress that people would love to wear again and again. so let me know what you fashionable ladies think! NOTE: If this is the dress I would have a tailor remove the ruffle hem becuase I am not that crazy about that ruffle. Anthropologie.com > Blue Angel Dress
  3. oh- I never thought of wedding insurance. Are you guys getting that?
  4. my first post did not upload so here is the link for tiffany Tiffany & Co. | Item | Tiffany Blue® patent leather passport cover. | United States
  5. Christina is right. You should not feel the need to conform to tradition. you should do what makes you happy, not what you feel obligated to do. That is what will make your wedding uniquely yours! As far as gifts, for bridesmaids i was going to gift them with something like Tiffany passport covers ( I adore these although they are a little pricey). Maybe you can get them something that reflects Jamaica...like tropical pedicures together at a nearby nail salon that you all can enjoy together and relax...
  6. Anyone having fireworks? A NEW York couple who rented out Mikhail Baryshnikov's Dominican Republic mansion for their wedding ended up torching their neighbor's guest house. Over the weekend, Michael and Julianne Wainstein celebrated their nuptials with a three-night bash, but on the first night, "fireworks set fire to their next-door neighbor's roof," a party guest told us. Famous neighbors like Oscar de la Renta and Julio Iglesias escaped the trauma, but the roof of the unknown resident's pool house was destroyed.
  7. I am so good for asking # 6. Thanks Tammy!!
  8. jean marcus I want you to be my new BF. you are HILARIOUS
  9. I feel very embarassed for saying this, but according to Emily Post (who lives according to Emily Post) it is NOT the bridal party's responsibility. Who can throw a Bridal Shower? Traditionally, bridal shower etiquette says that close family members of the bride (sisters and moms) are not supposed to throw a shower for the bride. But, for many brides, there simply is no one else who can or is willing to do it. Therefore, anyone who wants to throw a shower can, bearing in mind that if there are plenty of people who would like to throw a shower for the bride, then the mother and sisters should take a backseat. Bridesmaids do traditionally throw the bride a shower. Your friends probably want to share in your wedding, but since they can;t make it this is the best way for them to honor you. You have great friends! Let them celebrate you!!!
  10. I know what you mean. We have been engaged for less than two months and I have not even sent out a save the date and people have started asking. I guess it is never too early to send a gift. A lot of family members sent engagement gifts of money which started our wedding fund. I am thinking about BBB, Crate and Barrel and Williams Sonoma. I wish I could register at Anthropologie, but I am not sure if they have a registry. I also considered Bloomingdales because if we get gift cards I can use it to shop (I am TERRIBLE).
  11. I HATE the idea of a bouquet toss and I don't want my FI-FI reaching up my dress! How embarassing is that I really like the presenting of the bouquet to the MOB - I just hope my mom doesn't start balling (I know she will). I am definitely having a pinata. I usually have them at my birthday parties so we are planning to have kareoke and a pinata at the rehearsal dinner. I hope everyone likes it. I have to say the FI acronym is so funny to me becuase I call Dean my Fi-Fi (FEE-FEE) to my friends.
  12. Welcome to the forum Brandy. Have you decided on the destination for your ceremony yet? You'll find AWESOME passports and boarding passes here....Congratulations!!!
  13. Ohhh..I hope it's not urban legend. But that's funny you heard it's in MS!
  14. OOOHHHHHH......sunrise TTD pictures. thatsounds sooooo amazing!!!
  15. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. You will find ENDLESS info here. Happy planning. You're almost there!!! Where are you getting married?
  16. Welcome Emilie! I understand your concern aboutgetting married in a factory. I think that is why we are getting married in Zihua since it is a place that is not so popular and very special to us. HOWEVER, it has been a bit of a challenge getting information specific to Zihua. One advantage to getting married in a place like Dreams is that you have so many resources here that will make planning a wedding at Dreams a little easier (although i don;t think there is such a thing as an easy wedding. Good luck!!!
  17. Hi everyone, A friend of mine said her wedding coordinator mentioned a discount retailer located somewhere in Louisiana that sells current and past season designer dresses at steep discounts. Does anyone have additional info or experience with this store? We are checking with my friend's WC so if I get more info I will definitely post here....
  18. Becks- those are so cute. I like the 3rd set from target. I have a few girft cards there, that might be on my short list of things to have for later! We recieved engagement presents and I really should write a note, but I dod not want to write it on my stationary since the note would be from both of us. Great ideas!!!
  19. OK...Nikki's new bangs. What do we think? I just realized that I have a signature pose.
  20. I got bangs cut this weekend and I LOVE them. The boys at work said they are sassy - I'll take that any day...i'll see if I can download a pick here to see what you ladies think... Great thread!
  21. He's going to Resign this morning. It's about time. Sheesh!
