  2. I am so sorry to hear about your FFIL. I think it's only natural for you to focus on your wedding. It is a happy and positive thing to look forward to. I agree with Becks that you should continue to plan and give the family something to look forward to together and hopefully everyone will be healthier and able to be there. At the same time continue to be there for your family. We're here for you whenever you need to talk it out. BIG HUGS!!!

  15. I'm pretty sure that the area is serviced by Cancun airport, but I agree with beth that you should go off what the resort website says so as not to confuse your guests. I don't think Cancun has a negative connotation. Unless you are holding the ceremony at Senor Frogs then I am sure your guests will look foward to a beautiful wedding
  16. So I did not go off. I was very calm and I told her about what had upset me. I explained that I knew that questioning a bride about her wedding is not the best thing to do as I am a bride myself and I get that, but I felt like this was something that she should know upset me. She was very sorry. She bawled. I bawled. she apologized for not including my mom. and she thanked me for bringing it up. I knew this was the right thing to do in our particular situation. We also talked about some things that have been kind of "hovering" in our friendship for some time now. We have had our spats and there was a period of about a year that we did not speak. This was the year that she fell in love with her FI. I think we have hurt each other's feelings in the past and we just harbored it inside and it sort of festered there until it became this "thing" that we did not know how to deal with. So, we promised to be better friends and talk more openly, even if it may seem hurtful - it's better than to hide our real feelings. I am so glad we talked. I was so sure that I would have to decline being a BM in her wedding and I thought it would ruin our friendship. I always say that you should be honest with your feelings and I am glad that I was and that we talked this through. Thanks for all the support and advice ladies!!!
  17. well, we had to change our Wednesday meeting to lunch today since we are both busy tomorrow. I just don't want to cry in the middle of the day. I get really emotional everytime I talk about it Wish me luck.

Have you already sleected your bridal party? They will probably keep your bachelorette party a secret, but they might ask you about your shower. My friends asked me about dates I was available. I am also having an EC shower so they had to ask me in advance about that one...
  22. Oh no!!! Where will all the hip hop stars get their diamonds from now The New York businessman known in the hip-hop world as "Jacob the Jeweler" was sentenced Tuesday to 2½ years in federal prison for lying to investigators looking into a multistate drug ring. Jacob Arabov, 43, pleaded guilty in October to falsifying records and giving false statements as part of a deal with federal prosecutors, who asked U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn to impose a minimum sentence of three years and one month. But Cohn decided to shave off seven months from that recommendation, citing Arabov's extensive charity work. Cohn also ordered the Russian immigrant to pay a $50,000 fine and to make a $2 million forfeiture payment to the government. "I feel ashamed that I broke the laws of this country, a country that has been so good for me," Arabov said. "I will carry this shame for the rest of my life." Arabov was arrested in 2006 at his Manhattan jewelry shop. Authorities accused him and others of conspiring to launder about $270 million in drug profits. Prosecutors dropped the money laundering charges in the plea deal. Authorities accused Arabov and others of conspiring to launder drug profits for the "Black Mafia Family," a ring that operated out of the Detroit area beginning in the early 1990s. The seven-year investigation resulted in the indictments of Arabov and at least 41 other people, federal authorities say. They say about 1,100 pounds of cocaine and $19 million in cash and other assets were seized beginning in 2000. Arabov, also known as the "King of Bling," became popular among hip-hop and R&B artists in the mid-1990s. He launched a line of religious-themed jewelry with Kanye West, who later named him in songs including "Diamonds From Sierra Leone," in which he asked, "These ain't conflict diamonds, is they Jacob? Don't lie to me man." He also manufactured Lil' Kim's line of Royalty watches. Arabov will report to prison Jan. 15.
