What is the best time to get married in October?
Cabo OR Bust replied to Natashak's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Here's the link to the sunset times in Mexico: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1154 My photography recommended 1 1/2 hours before sunset so that you have enough lighting. -
Wedding Coordinators recomendations
Cabo OR Bust replied to theinquizitivegroom's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Not sure if I am helpful but I'm from KC, MO and I'm getting married in Cabo in Dec. I originally hired a wedding coordinator, but after being on BDW, seriously, all the ladies here are a GREAT help. I since dropped my outside coordinator (she was hard to reach & was pricing too high) and now working exclusively with the on site person, Marianna. I think it comes down to where you have your wedding and how much of a hands on groom/bride you are. Most of my vendors are from the referrals from the brides on this site. You'll find very useful info. Good luck and happy planning! -

Who's Exempt From New Airline Baggage Fees?

Now, at least, you know how much luggage you can take with all your wedding stuff! Thanks for the very informative information!! -

Airfare prices lowering booked guest count!
Cabo OR Bust replied to Duchess's topic in Honeymoon Forum
My whole family is from LA and they were waiting as well. I was looking non-stop everyday and the prices were at 500-700 with multiple stops. I checked American Airlines who flies direct from LAX to Cabo, but there's a trick to booking (I found out the hard way). 1) BOOK ON A WEDNESDAY. That's when all major airlines have cheaper rates for the week. 2) When you go on the site, Airline Tickets and Airline Reservations from American Airlines | AA.com, instead of going directly to "book a flight", on the left hand side there are tabs. Click on the one that says "Net SAAvers & Special offers", then click on "fare sales". Put in the city to and from, then it will bring up their sale rate. Then I added my 10% group discount** and bought my parents' tickets from LAX to Cabo for $352 for a straight flight!!! OMG I was SO relieved I even bought my sister one just to make sure they booked!! This was just last week. Today, it went down to $339. I called to see if they would do a rate adjustment, but they said they'd charge a $150 change fee (uh, no thanks!). Hope that helps anyone who is still needing to book from LAX. **When you have a group coming from one area, call the airline group rate and they will set you up with a 10% discount. -

I just spoke with an American Airlines group discount rep, and she confirmed to me that there is NO charge for baggage for international flights. She said we are allowed two check in bags @ 50 lbs. each, one carry on. If you go over the weight on the check in bags, that's when they charge. I read differently, but I got her name and id# just in case! -
Hi Lola, I'm happy you're here too! Cris has been really quick to respond and helpful!

Any suggestions or links would be really appreciated. The cards I bought, they came with legal size envelopes. But I'm also contemplating if I should go with a thicker cream envelope. I've seen a few at Michaels but none in bulk. The ones I've seen only come in like a 10 pack, which, when I replace 100, will be mucho dinero! Sorry I couldn't help!

After contemplating what I should do (DIY or Buy) with my invitations, I finally went with DIY. It was SOOOO time consuming, and I had little hiccups here and there, but after looking at my invites last night, I like them. I kept them pretty simple. Cards: Michaels 9.99/pack of 25 Paper Cardstock: Hobby Lobby 4 for $1 Stamp: Hobby Lobby 8.99 Stamp Ink: Tangerine & Rouge 4.99 ea Response cards: Michaels 9.99/pack of 50. I had a hard time finding a large quantity of blank envelopes, so i just bought box of blank thank you cards w/ envelopes, and will use the thank you cards for something else. I alternated colors on the flowers depending on what color the inside of the card was. My FMIL has a little machine that cuts letters out, so she did that and then glued them to the outside of each little square for the cover.

I can't seem to post a pic on PM. It only gives me an option to post a URL image. Can someone show me how? Thanks! -
He's actually a part of this forum...I'm thinking of booking him for video, he came highly recommended from my photographer, Bradley Fraser, whom I read great reviews on. Hope that helps. Ana, thanks for the heads up, I'm experiencing the same issues with her. I pm'd you. -
Hi ladies - Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I sent out my STD's back in April, but I'm stressing on what I should be doing next. Here's what I've done: Sent STD's Booked Photographer Booked ceremony/reception site set up website I'm a bit self conscious of my upper body (arms, back) so I know I will have a hard time finding a dress that will flatter me since most dresses are sleeveless. I was lucky enough to befriend this girl that I used to work with from Equador. She had created a gown for our christmas party and it looked like a gown you wear to the OSCARS! She said she did it in 3 days!! So she will be making my dress and hopefully we will start next week. I'm going Bm dress shopping this weekend. Lots of sales out there for the 4th. Anybody using an outside coordinator?

I honestly think she cares about what other people think. Lillie, I can totally relate! We are also getting the little comments here and there, and I am getting married 1 month before the DW in a catholic church with my parents and FI only with small dinner to follow, so it will please her and my dad. I go through this every so often with my parents, and I thought I was the only one. Mom also wants a huge AHR, but I'm not a big "LARGE" crowd type of person, and I don't want to spend extra $$ when I can just put it investments or a down payment for another house, so I'm struggling with coming up with courage to tell her, um, NO. And plus, I moved to Kansas City from Orange County, CA, so that AHR would take place in CA and cost me an arm and leg for 300+ guests! Somebody shot me. lol -
