This is REALLY accurate!!! It's scary how accurate it is! Also it's funny how my color is bronze and my girls are wearing burnt orange and my power month is October and we're getting married in October.... what a coincidence! Your Birthdate: December 28 You have a Type A personality so big it makes other Type A's shrink away in shame. You never shy away from adversity - and you love to tackle impossible problems. Failure is not an option for you, and more than a few people are put off by your ego. You tend to be controlling, and you hate leaving anything up to chance. Your strength: Your bold approach to life Your weakness: You don't accept help Your power color: Bronze Your power symbol: Pyramid Your power month: October

So what are your thought on the proposed "Cap and Trade Tax" on CO2 emissions? I'm sure that this will be a very interesting topic to discuss and I was curious where everyone stood on the topic. And you don't know about the Cap and Trade Tax I have listed a few BIPARTISAN view points. I just wanted to open the discussion and in a later post I will let you know my thoughts. I didn't want to start the thread with a viewpoint because I want people to feel free to post their opinions or ask questions. Me too Yari! I barely even drink anymore when we go out because I know someone is going to have to drive everyone home and I'd rather not drink to make sure that we get home safely. I think about the shit we did when we were younger and I can't believe I still here! Quote: Originally Posted by Yari Wow, that picture is very distrubing. At this point in my life I realize how fragile life is and how easily a stupid mistake can become tragic.

There was a bar in downtown Philadelphia that used to have girls walk around with them and they would charge you to blow into it.... it was supposed to be fun I guess. Tim comes from a family of Cops of which most are Philadelphia officers and a few state troopers, needless to say we've heard that all those silly ones you can buy are even as accurate as the ones the police departments use.

I forgot to address one more thing... The comment I made "Calling for a public hanging". What I meant by that was people have a tendency to make comments when we are guilty of doing the same thing ourselves, maybe not the same degree but we've all been there or know someone who has been there. I myself am guilt of driving after having a drink or two, and had I been pulled over I would have been over the legal limit. And even worse had I hit someone or hurt someone even after having had a drink I would be in an even worse situation and looking at jail time. I am just suggesting that we this story make everyone take a look at there own lives and make an impact.. (I'm not saying you're all guilty of drinking and driving like this, but drinking and driving is drinking and driving... and it's not just something bar flys, alcoholics, bums and deadbeats do, anyone who makes the choice to drive while under the influence takes this chance when they make that choice... Just some food for thought.)

Oh Rachel.... NO I totally agree that he should be held accountable for his actions! I am PRO accountability, I was PRO Tim go to jail for that exact reason! What I meant by everyone being guilty of drinking and driving was that.... no one thinks twice about getting behind the wheel after having a beer or two.... and that's drinking and driving. In PA the legal limit is .08 and has been for a few years and that isn't even a WHOLE bottle of beer. So legally you are driving under the influence. It's really sad that Tim will call me (from jail) and say "Oh you'll never guess who's here too..."! And that is sad that it just points out that it's a serious problem and it needs to be addressed, so by taking the steps in their personal lives to make a difference could help make a dent in the problem. And unfortunately having been going through this experience I have a learned a huge lesson and that is.... the local and county government seems to care more about the money you owe rather than getting the dangerous drivers off the street! And that is sad...

You just do.... photojournalist are trained to document the event and detach from the emotion... it's something not everyone can do, but those who can have been responsible for some of the world's most telling and gripping images. As for the guy! How was he able to just drive up there? There's a cop car right next to him... During the Philadelphia bike race you can't go ANYWHERE! It's very sad and he deserves everything they can throw at him for sure.. This is a very personal thing for me... as some of you may know, Tim is currently serving 90 days in Montgomery County Correctional Facility with work release for a DUI. While he didn't hit anyone or anything he could have... EVERYONE is guilty of drinking and driving... unless you don't drink, and this could have very well have been someone we all know in our lives because we all have THAT one friend or family member that skates on thin ice. So I feel that instead of chanting for a public hanging, we all try to make a difference in our own lives to spread awareness so this isn't someone you know!!!! I check mine ALL the time...ahaha! I'm guilty! See I have NO idea when my shower is...and that makes me nervous, I enjoy surprising other people but I don't like to be surprised. My mom and my sister and I have this thing where we like to scare the shit out of each other and play pranks on one another so I figured I'll let them have this one... -

Tim's mom passed away 14 years ago this July and all of his grandparents are passed and we just buried one his uncle's today. I would love to honor all of them in some way, but especially his mom. I never met his mother and because of that I feel really compelled to have her a part of our wedding. We had a family meeting about what should be done, I suggested some things and the conclusion was made that we will have an open seat for her at the end of the aisle and since we have 2 aisles (guys down one, girls down the other, meeting in the center) Tim will leave yellow flower on her chair when he comes down the aisle. I am also going to honor her by having a button from her wedding gown sewn to mine, it's private and personal but I'll know it's there and that means a lot to me. We are also doing programs to honor the other's in our lives that couldn't be there... I have seen frosted cylinder vase/candle holder that you can have the name etched into and place it somewhere where it can be seen but not the center focus if that would be more suitable.

I have to say that I agree with the other ladies... I would ask her if she wants to be in the wedding and ask her to be honest with you and let her know that if she doesn't want to be in the wedding it won't upset you... One thing I've truly learned since planning my own wedding is that most people don't share your passion and people whom you thought were "good" friends end up disappointing you. I have stopped asking my bridesmaids to help me with things and not because I think they won't I just would rather save myself the disappointment of them giving a litany of excuses of why they can't. You really find out who your friends are when you ask them to be apart of your wedding!

I have ALWAYS found that the pictures are more relaxed and natural if done before the ceremony as well. Which is exactly why Tim and I will be doing ALL the pictures prior to the ceremony because once we've said our vows it's PARTY TIME!!!! I always feel awkward and intrusive pulling the couple away from their family members and guests to do pictures and the groom........well 9 times out of 10 can't wait for it to be over and is looking around for someone to get him a drink. I feel like the magic is lost at that point and you're holding them against their will! The moments leading up to the ceremony are filled with such anticipation and excitement and I want that to be evident in my wedding images... So coming from experience that's why I said screw tradition.... I'm gonna do it my way!

The rise of C-Sections and its risks. (Information on C-Sections)
Dbld78 replied to Birdie07's topic in Random Thoughts
WOW!!!! So I just read through this thread and I can't speak from experience because I have not had any children of my own but I do have friends and family member's experience that I can take into account. I am a C-Section baby.....from 1978! I turned out JUST FINE!!! And so did my sister and brother. I would venture to say that the medical field has made leaps and bounds in the 29 almost 30 years since I was born. I have numerous friends who have had multiple C-Sections and both they and they're children are healthy and happy. I can't help but read the articles and wonder "Is this based on fact or is this Propaganda....against the Medical Industry?" And I think it might be a little of both... I want to see the statistics that go along with the rise in C-Sections that shows how babies are bigger than they've ever been.... Also remember the rate of labor deaths.... Yes women have been giving birth naturally for years and years and years, but let's also remember giving birth killed many women that would have been saved today with the advances in medicine. I personally don't know anyone who has had an unpleasant birth experience and I know a lot of ladies... Really it comes down to what is best for you and your baby... If you don't trust your doc get a new one, there are plenty of them out there... We live in a day where people are sue happy and can you really blame a doctor for wanting to make sure things work out best for you and your baby, sure maybe he's also looking out for his practice too but that's what he does delivers babies and I'm sure they'd like to keep doing it too! I'm not against having babies naturally.... it's your body and your baby more power to ya! But I think people should be more open to the idea of a C-Section because it is a possibility with any birth. Look no surgery is natural, but when there is something in your body that needs to come out you do what needs to be done to make it so. It's funny how we are having this debate about child birth but most woman have no issue with going into surgery for a boob job or some other kind of plastic surgery... Personally I would think that a C-Section would be a surgery I would opt for if necessary before enhancing my vanity. But that's just me... To those of you who've gone through each.... You're a better woman than me and you wear that badge of honor, I hope to join your club real soon!
