Would I have to put a link to the picture on the postcard or just the name of the person who submitted it. They have great photos there!
  4. I definelty don't think you are crazy. I was considering the same thought. The ring I will be getting to go with my a e-ring is a bit bling bling and I love it but there are times when you want to be more casual. The jewler suggested getting a plain band for those moments when you are feeling very casual so I think I'm going to do just that. And girl, it's your wedding....you can do what you want. If you want to incorporate both do it!

I think my FI only looked at the website once so it was all my doing! If he had known I was mailing them with private info Im sure he wouldnt have liked the idea either. But.....I havent had any stalkers yet that I know of Thanks Leslie! Yeah I personally don't think it's such a big deal but now I'll just have to double check with FH to make sure he's cool. Even if a stranger where to go to the web site there isn't much useful information there anyways. Maybe just the date and location of our weddign but even at that it would be very unlikely they could use it for any harm. I can barely even get my own friends and family to book their travel so that would be a trip if a stranger shows up after finding the information on a poastcard By the way your postcards are very pretty....I love the personal touch on the sand
  6. Leslie, Did you mail the postcards without envelopes? I know postcards usually go without envelopes but since you had your wedding website on yours I wasn't sure if you wanted it private. I am doing the same project of a postcard-payment-reminder and I was getting ready to print mine in vistaprint when I realized our wedding web site was on ours. My FI is so paranoid of anyone knowing any private information of ours that I wasn't sure if I should send them with envelopes instead. It just sucks cause that would take away the purpose of doing a postcard.
  7. Morgan, Thank you so much for the directions.....I am trying to do a postcard too and was wondering where you got your photograph of Riviera Maya?? I am trying to find a picture and posted a thread but received no luck . I looked online and only found really small pictures that would not work for the postcard....THANKS!!

  9. After reading all the useful information on this forum on how to make your own postcards in vista print I decided to make my own. I will send them to all my guests with a little reminder in the back to book their travel soon. The problem is that now I need a nice photo of the Riviera Maya for my project. I tried looking online but the pictures I found were too small and would not work. Does anyone have a nice beach photograph of Riviera Maya? Thank you so much!!!!

LOL Oh well....at least we were able to put something on the tables. I have more pro pics at home. I just don't have them on a photo share site. So if you want more, let me know and I will load them for you. Your set up is really pretty! Thanks for sharing. We will be using rectangular tables too and was wondering on possible set ups.

I am having second thoughts because they are a bit more on the bulky side...don't get me wrong I love them and they were a great find/price but really who will take them to their wedding first?! My WC was nice enought to let me ship them to her office ahead of time so that's what I'm going to do. I feel you though cause they are adorable and a great price but a bit bulky. I have soooo many things already but the good thing too is that 5 other relatives are flying in teh same plane as us so I will hand them down luggage to haul adn just pay them for the extra bag fee.

She doesn't work at the dollar spot but I am always so jealous cause I just love Target stuff so much.

  18. Ladies I need your help! We sent out our save the date message in a bottle about 3 to 4 months ago. I didn't include a letter with many details since at that point we still weren't sure what resort we were going to be staying at. We are having a nonresort weddign so our guests have the option to stay any hotel they choose. They don't necessarily have to stay at our hotel so I didn't think it was as crucial for me to include that information yet, especially since it was still undecided. Basically our save the dates included the date, the location and our web site. Then, as soon as I found out what resort we were staying at, I updated our web site and sent out an email to all my friends and family with hotel info and travel agent's number. I forwarded the email to my fiance and told him to forward it to his people. Now 5 months to the weddimg and very few people have booked and I am afraid I may be the reason for the low confirmation. Maybe my email was such an informal way of communication that people didn't really take it seriously. I figured people could always look at the web site and realize we have booked our hotel but maybe no one is looking there. Should I have sent a follow up letter instead of an email Should I still send one now with the travel information and remind people to book if they are really considering coming I am just afraid the prices will really skyrocket and people won't be able to afford to come anymore. Am I just silly for worrying Don't get me wrong if people are just being lazy and haven't purchased their tickets, that's fine with me but I just want to ensure I gave them all the information they needed properly. Thank you so much for your input!!!
  19. Thanks Stephanie! I guess I did a search for "candy bar" and nothing came up. It never occured to me to search for the more obvious title "candy buffet"
  20. I've been thinking and thinking about what I want to give out as wedding favors. I realized that candy bars have become a popular item at weddings these days and I was thinking of maybe having one so guests can make their own goodie bags on their way home. I was thinking of having different candies in jars with my wedding colors. The problem is that I am only having 50 guests so I am not sure if having a candy bar will be too much for such a small group. Did anyone have a candy bar and was it a big hit?
