I was talking to my mom today and she was telling me that her friend's daughter has been teaching it in Toronto for a few months and she's apparently in amazing shape now. She used to be kind of "soft" like me, so if she's toned now from this its definatley encouraging. Just my luck too, there are classes being held at the dance center beside our building, so I can't procrastinate even if I tried...lol. Here's the website for NIA, it sounds pretty cool Nia The Technique
  2. I am going to start wearing them around the house asap! great idea! ...think it would be pushing it if I took them to work and wore them in the boardroom?? definatley not outside though...lol! (I'm way to excited)

Hi Karah! Welcome to the forum!!
  4. maybe you can also get a friend of yours to practice doing the makeup on you for a month or so before the wedding, so just incase you are unable to do it that day she can help. The hair idea is really good too, I might have to do the same...it seems safer. Although, I think I'm almost 98% sure that I'll have my hair down with curls in for the day so maybe i can do it myself or have a friend help :S I'm glad in a way that I have a year to think about this, but then again, I might just drive myself nuts by then and shave my hair off like Ms Brittany Spears

No I meant a primer for your whole face, you can apply it to your lids as well though. The primer is good (if you use the right one...biotherm has a cream based one witha bit of shine so it gives you a dewy healthy look) it helps to retain your face's moisture and to even out your skin. If you moisturize before you put it on and then put the foundation on top you shouldn't have a problem with the foundation getting patchy. Also, the patchyness might be due to the way you apply your foundation. You should always use a foundation brush, even for your concealer because it prevents your natural hand oils and germs from penetrating your pores. It also helps you achieve a more flawless finish. I used to apply my face makeup with my fingers before and it always looked smeared and uneven. Lastly, if you apply the concealer after your foundation it will allow for it to set better. If you apply it prior to the foundation, you will most likely rub most of it off when applying the foundation. You can use all those products and not have it look like its alot of makeup. I used to shy away from spending alot of money on cosmetics, but then I realized that I spend that same amount on jeans, jackets etc... and I don't wear those every day. Whereas my face is on me all day 24-7...lol and its the first thing people notice. btw...the MAC paint is only about $18 and you can use it with your already existing makeup process.
  6. So I decided that instead of going to the gym today, I should make a photobucket album instead...lol I am such a loser! http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...mas2007013.jpg
  7. That is such an amazing story! :)and super romantic. Do you know where you will go on your honeymoon? you can always do a trip through Europe and stop in Paris too!
  8. Hi Nadia! Welcome to the forum. Search through all the threads and you will find lots of helpful info on resorts etc... Happy Planning!
  9. Has anyone here tried NIA classes?? I'm thinking of starting to go twice a week beginning next Saturday to add to my usual running.
  10. My makeup artist has a whole system, which I do myself in the mornings and it really works. 1st, do your primer, foundation, concealer, loose powder, blush and bronzer (if you use it) .. in that particular order. 2) make sure that when you put the loose powder on you apply some to the eye lids (upper and lower) with a eyeshadow brush. Bobbi Brown oil-free even finish compact foundation is amazing, as is their loose powder and concealer (she makes the best face products) 3) then..before applying any eyeshadow pat a bit of MAC paint in "Stilife" on your whole lid (bottom to the brow bone). Work fast though because once this dries its hard to remove. 4)then apply any eyeshadow that you want. It will last all day, rain, shine, workout sweat, whatever. I have the type of skin that would just absorb eyeshadow (even worse sometimes it would crease). But this stuff is awesome! Don't be scared that it looks a bit white when you apply it, once you put eyeshadow over top it won't be there anymore.
  11. aww! Your story is so cute and it brings back lovely memories of Europe Congrats!!!
  12. Yea that totally makes sense. Well let me know how it works out and what you think of it. I might consider having someone down there do my hair although for the makeup I think I will do it myself (who knows...I might decide otherwise by then)lol
  13. When I first went to the Alvina Valenta website I loved almost everything. Here's the link Alvina Valenta Couture Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaid Gowns, and Evening Gowns You could always pick a length and material (ie, silk knee length) and a designer and have the bm's pick one and run it by you first. Sometimes designers make all their dresses sort of go together, there's just a similar air to them all and they always look nice together. Kate - I loved your wedding dress! it is so beautiful!
  14. I'm not usually a fan of bridesmaid dresses made by bridal gown designers, but I saw this dress in a magazine a few months ago. Its a Alvina Valenta, but it seems like something that the bridesmaids might want to wear again. I'm not doing a matchy wedding party so I'm leaving the dress decisions up to my BM's, but maybe this would help you? (secretly I might buy the dress just for me lol)
  15. I'm so excited! I got my Loeffler Randall wedding shoes from Shopbop.com, and they are so pretty! I don't know how I'm going to keep from wearing them until the wedding :S I might have to send them to my mom in Toronto. I put the swatch of my dress beside them and it looks super cute. They're kind of metallic pink and the dress is a dark off white satin.
  16. It seems like Suzanne Morale's salon is good, but I wasn't totally impressed with her website. Maybe I'll ask my WC to see if she knows of any good ones and I'll let you know.
  17. I made myself run 10km and then ate some yummy cake
  18. you can still do most of your own searches etc... but just have someone there to make sure it goes smoothly. I'm still researching the vendors and contacting myself first (for most things) but then I have Maye there to organize them and to do the setups. Plus I've found a couple of instances where I've needed someone there to contact either the priest or one of the vendors because I don't speak Spanish, so it worked out pretty well.
  19. I'm getting off the couch and going for a run, I don't feel like it but if I don't I'll eat all the cinnamon buns instead

    Hi Everyone

Welcome to the forum and Happy Planning!!!
  21. That's awesome! You're going to have so much fun! I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze in a site visit this year. Take lots of pics!
  22. lol yea I thought it would work out to be really relaxed, but I hate the "factory-like" weddings that all the resorts provide, so I started doing everything separately. It helps to get an organizer I find, and a WC. Once I hired Maye I felt so much better. It might be a bit of a mind barrier too, now I feel like I don't have to be on watch for everything. I can just pick out all the ideas I love, send them to her for pricings, and then decide what I like best. I'll be curious to see what happens too and how it all works together in the end..lol! I keep saying "after this one thing we're done" but it never is. First it was picking a TA, then a resort, then the Church, and on and on...

lol I didn't know anything either, but apparently princess cut is square. Also, I didn't know that there are different prongs too, apparently there's ones that are shaped like hearts... :S I really like the first picture for the hair, I think your dress is so beautiful that if you do a simple hair style and a more simple veil (you can always do a scalloped edge too) it would let the dress do most of the talking.
  24. I really like the up do as well, but my FI wants my hair down. So I'm kind of conflicted. I'm thinking that once my dress comes in and I have to go for fittings, I might do a "down and wavy" hair trial to see if I like the mantilla. And I'll bring a hair tie to try the trendier veil. The other thing too, is that I don't know if I trust anyone down in Cabo to actually do my hair, I wish I could bring my hair stylist with me
