I spoke to Yesica and she said that they do the set up for the cocktails and the reception before the actual time you're going to be there, so it will all be set up when your guests arrive (for both cocktails and dinner). She said its not a problem to do two different set ups in the same location and they won't charge extra for doing it. That's what we're doing as of now. We have both the dinner and the cocktail reception booked on the Oceana terrace, and we will carry the decorations into the reception so that it all ties in together.

I understand where you're coming from. I bought my dress in Toronto but I'm living at a 5hr plane ride away in Vancouver. Although we'll be moving there this fall, I'm planning on on losing some weight too, so I'm going to have my fittings all organized closer to the time that I leave. The store is able to schedule and do all the fittings and alterations in one week, so I'm planning on going in the fall just for the initial one just to see the dress and see how it looks, and then go back the month before the wedding to do the final fittings. You might want to check if you can pick up your dress and take it in to a different store closer to home for the alterations and steaming. Do some research to see if there is a store that can do the fittings and alterations as needed within a short amount of time so that you have the opportunity to lose the weight that you want.

Welcome! my FI and I are moving back to Toronto come this fall wohoo! I'm so excited! Congrats on having the wedding that you want! What helped us decide was to make a list of "non-negotiables", start with one country, and then research the resorts. Look at pics, and reviews on the forum to give you an idea of what the resorts have to offer and start emailing the Wedding Cordinators there with questions that you might have. We researched alot of the Mayan Riviera resorts before settling on Dreams Cabo, and we're so excited with our decision now! Happy Planning!

I think that if you love the open back then you should maybe get the dress that you originally feel in love with its really gorgeous. I don't think that rules apply to weddings, beach or no beach. You should wear what you love and what you always pictured yourself wearing because you only get to do this once. With that said, the second dress looks amazing on you! Sorry I'm not very much help

Congratulations!!! that's so awesome! It's the most amazing feeling once you pick a date and have a place set up! I'm not using a videographer unfortunately, but let me know if you find one.

I totally understand what you mean about being obsessed with the whole wedding thing. I'm the same way. I found the forum to be very helpful in getting me to talk (well write) about the wedding and to be able to post things as well. Its really awesome too that you've gotten most of the big planning out of the way, so now you can enjoy the little details a bit more

we're staying in Cabo for an extra week after everyone leaves just to take a bit of a break from all the crazyness. But we're going to delay our honeymoom "technically" until the following year. We want to take a month and travel through europe. Since we're moving this fall and going to be starting new jobs, we figured it would be pushing it to ask for 8 weeks off right off the bat so i guess we're not really getting a honeymoon right away.

lol yea he's 6'11 and I'm 5'8 but next to him I look tiny. Its awesome I was always the tallest of my friends so I never wore heels although I loved them. But now I can wear the tallest ones I can find...lol booo its Monday, and I'm not excited to be at work at all! (i should have taken today off too but I clearly didn't have the foresight to do so)
