  1. yea I'm totally with you guys on that too. Since they're paying they should have some say and also they're your friends. If I had to pay for my bm dress for a friends' wedding I would want to be involved in the process and I would want to like the dress and feel like I could wear it again. I also agree that at this point you're probably better off going to an actual store with your friends and trying stuff on. Since you don't have alot of time, maybe buying something online isn't necessarily the best idea. Vancouver has some really great stores...I live right downtown and shop more than I want to admit, so if you need any suggestions let me know. It sounds like by the type of dress you like Tart styles would work perfectly. Their dresses are a really nice jersey material, thick enough to not feel cheap but still comfortable. They're awesome for the beach and you can wear them again. I wear mine to work all the time. And BCBG is great, on sale you're looking at around $150 for a dress and the downtown location has hoards of them and every style possible. You might also want to consider picking a color and material and letting your BM's find their own. Then you don't have to stress too much and they're free to spend as much or as little as they want.
  2. We initially wanted different dates but we kept having different reasons as to why those times didn't work (ie. exams, Christmas, the weather etc...) When we made our travel arrangements and deposits the TA couldn't give us a 100% for sure time of departure, because it was so far in advance she said the departure date could vary by a day or two and we have people coming from all over Canada, the US and Europe. So we picked a date that was right in the middle of the week. We figured rarely will charter flights leave on a tuesday or wed, so a wednesday for our wedding should be a safe bet.
  3. We've been considering it, but we're not totally sure. It seems like a personal decision as to whether or not you want them. We'd rather go out for a few nice dinners and drinks and just have the wedding photos. We're spending quite a bit on the wedding photographer and in the end I think those are the images that we'll look back on the most.
  4. K here's mine: We adopted Minggis from the SPCA right after Christmas of 2006. They didn't know much about him except that he was somewhere between 1 and 1/2 to 2 years, and that he'd chipped his tooth on something. He was really skiddish for a while after we had him, and hated new people in the house. He would hide for hours under the bed just so they wouldn't take him. But he's much better now especially since we got him a companion. 1st day we brought him home: Michael holding him: Abby is our youngest. We got her from the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue when she was 9wks old. They said she wasn't going to be a "lap" cat and that she liked her space. Boyyyy were they wrong! she wants to be snuggled all the time! she won't leave me alone even to go to the bathroom! If she's not being held by us then she's snuggling with Minggis. They're best friends, and he's really come out of his shell since we've had her. Its been 8 months now. kitten pic a more recent shot (she still has her kitten face) This is Nala. We got her after our two golden retrievers passed away last year. She was 5 months, the breeded had initially wanted to keep her for breeding but apparently her chest wasn't wide enough (*wtf?!) anyways their loss and our gain. She's the sweetest dog ever, and super intelligent (althoug very very stubborn). She's in Toronto with my parents and loving the snow

  7. aww he's so cute! He looks so proper amongst all the wedding things Quote: Originally Posted by xJuicyJx Here's my baby Onyx. He's a Husky/Shiba Inu with a lil American Eskimo mix. 8. I used to have a bunny, Mac...he was also supposed to be a dwarf bunnny but then he grew to be about 6lbs...so not very little at all! He was awesome, we had him trained to go in the litter box so he used to run around the house and beg for food. His favorite thing to do was hide among all my stuffed animals and pretend he was a toy, then when someone would intrude on my room he'd pounce on the unsuspecting person and attack them. lol! Here are a few pix of my little bunn Emma. She's supposed to be a dwarf bunny, but either they got it wrong or we overfed her bigtime because she's pretty big for a dwarf bunny! (last vet appointment, she was over 5 lbs!) Playing outside on a nice sunny day... Sleeping in her old bed aka. "the bunny box" that we made out of a shoe storage container & my bf's tshirt! & a recent one of her & her stuffed carrot which she sleeps with (tucked in under her chin)... I also caught her taking a poop in the litterbox with it in her mouth so I guess she really likes this thing! She acts more like a dog or cat than a rabbit. She just tugged on my pantleg to see what I was eating so I showed her that it was a sour patch kid candy thinking she would go away & instead she bit the head off & hopped away... gonna have one hyper bunn tonight! lol
  9. sex dice and vitamins to help my nails and hair grow :S ....my FI was investing in some pharmaceutical company that created the vitamins so he thought he'd order some and use me as the guinea pig then he gave them to me for my birthday along with the sex dice. (lucky for him he also took me out for dinner and bought me the most beautiful shoes..otherwise he'd have been in big trouble)
  10. I'm planning to make mine into a book, and then lock it up in a vault somewhere. One of my coworkers was telling me how when he was a teenager him and his friends found one of their buddy's mom's BD pics and they used to sneak in there and look at it all the time. +they used to tease their friend because his mom was hot....lol! its soooo such a kid thing to do, but in order to prevent this I think I will have it somewhere hidden with perhaps a lock
  11. that's awesome! goodluck
  12. I really hope she's ok! She is really beautiful! keep us posted on what the vet says.
  13. No I haven't but I love watching her on Biggest Loser! My FI proposed during the show...lol!

I think I'm going for the civil ceremony only. I'm having trouble with the priest here in Canada, the one in Cabo has been super nice and accomodating. Our priest here hates us because we are "cohabitating" and because we're not getting married in his Church. He gave us a huge speech about how he won't even marry people that are cohabitating if they aren't in his parish and thus is being forced to. He said that he strongly disagrees with it and that its an embarassement to him and the Church *he managed to say this all in front of 38 couples at our Marriage Prep class! like, I'm pretty sure that there are at least another 10 or so couples there in the same situation as us..if not more. K enough venting..lol! sorry
  15. I don't know how good they are with returning calls (I have a feeling it might be like the emails). I would probably wait until tomorrow and then try again. I didn't leave any message I just hung up and called back later, or I called the front desk and asked them if they knew when she'd be back.
